  1. Drafted by the Royals but never pitched for the big league club. Ironically, he has ties to our very own Big Game James. “December 9, 2012: Traded by the Kansas City Royals with Patrick Leonard (minors), Wil Myers and Jake Odorizzito the Tampa Bay Rays for a player to be named later, Wade Davis and James Shields. The Tampa Bay Rays sent Elliot Johnson (February 12, 2013) to the Kansas City Royals to complete the trade.”
  2. Agreed, but he can now come through for us by getting traded for a decent return. If you want him back, sign him in the offseason.
  3. He was bad this year and they didn’t need him. But I’m not sure what the hell the Royals want with him. Give him a few starts, hope he does well, and try to flip him for more before the deadline? Or just as a cheap starter for next year? EDIT: Ah, Montgomery is arbitration eligible for the next two seasons. So he could be a decent cheap starter for the Royals for the next two years. And Montgomery wants to start. He was upset when he didn’t get a chance to stay in the Cubs rotation.
  4. Many people wouldn’t mind seeing Jose get traded to a contender and then bring him back in the offseason. But people are also weary of signing him for more than two years max. Yes, players handle age differently but ultimately Father Time is undefeated.
  5. He did his job. It wasn’t a great start by Gio, but it was good enough. Meanwhile, the Sox lineup was swinging broomsticks against Mr. 5+ ERA. They made him look like Verlander.
  6. You can’t JUST WIN BABY when you don’t have enough bullets. Time to sell.
  7. Fans don’t make trades so none of this really matters. Sox management is supposed to recognize talent and decides on who to keep and who to trade, not the fans. When it comes to Tatis Jr., the Sox obviously did a good job recognizing his talent enough to sign him but they failed miserably at projecting his future. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have traded him for an aging broken down starter. Tatis is hitting .339 with a 1.021 OPS and 14 HR and 14 SB at the age of 20. Sox fans didn’t choose to trade for Shields but we now get to miss out on a star shortstop and watch him excel with another team for years to come. Hahn got absolutely pantsed/fleeced in the trade. The irony is that last offseason, he worked so hard to sign a player in Machado that he already foolishly gave away in Tatis Jr. without the $300 million dollar price tag.
  8. Maldonado might be getting traded, per Rosenthal. https://mobile.twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/1150961175024340996
  9. The Sox didn’t want to be upstaged by the Royals with awful infield defense. Take that, KC!
  10. Yolmer swinging a broomstick. Not even close to making contact.
  11. Yolmer, haha. Keeps it to a quick painless ending.
  12. His legs... good squatter, for when he lifts the Gatorade jug.
  13. Wow, whomever said Jay is slow... yes. I figured he would’ve beat out that play easy but it took an error for him to be safe.
  14. McCann swings at three straight sliders away. The Royals know how to get the Sox out.
  15. Getting owned by Junis, while disheartening, has not changed my mind one way or the other. But four losses in a row have probably sealed the deal. S-E-L-L.
