Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
There is no reason the Sox should target a soon-to-be 30 year old Jason Heyward. We would be doing the Cubs a favor. $86 million can be spent a lot better on other players. Why wouldn’t we just sign one of Ozuna, Castellanos, or Puig with that $86 million and trade Colome, etc. elsewhere?

Yep, no one will take him. Not sure where poppysox is coming from.

I do know that the first bunt was nice. However, the second bunt led to an out and Moncada getting pitched around because 1B was open. Then, Abreu GIDP’ed which ended the inning without scoring any runs.

Moncada butchered that play. Inning should be over.

That was ugly. Nice second bunt.

Semien has the same WAR as Moncada at 3.5. Crazy.

Make a good bunt worse by doing it a second time in a row.

Brett Anderson deals as fast as Buehrle. How nice.

To Sell or Not to Sell?
This is true. Many people would think that trading Colome and Bummer for a guy like Dustin May is a no brainer but then your bullpen is trash as a result. But then again, that rumor is likely trash because it is coming from Peggy Kusinski’s kid.

If Collins has a hitch in his swing, I am having dejavu to Beckham which is why he also failed.

To Sell or Not to Sell?
Abreu, Colome, and Leury all make sense to trade. You won’t be able to trade Herrera. But trading Bummer only makes sense if you think he is pitching out of his ass and you want to sell high.

Aaron Bummer
I wouldn’t mess with him. If the Sox don’t spend when their payroll is as low as ever and our team is full of cheap youth, then they were never serious about winning in the first place. There is no reason to change player roles when Bummer is an amazing reliever when you have boatloads of available money. Will they spend it? We shall see.

They suck. No doubt about it. It will be interesting to see what we do at the deadline. I honestly see one positional hole on this team going forward and that is RF. But the Sox need to spend like crazy on rotation and bullpen arms in the offseason.

To Sell or Not to Sell?
So what does everyone think? Who should be traded? I challenge Greg to respond now that the Sox are 42-46 and going nowhere. They are 14 games back for the division and 7.5 games back for the Wild Card. I would definitely trade Abreu and Colome if the return looks good.

No reason to torture yourself. After the first inning, I fired up the Weber grill and started cracking some New England IPAs. Now I don’t give a shit about how awful the Sox are playing. ?

Agreed. And sure, it would be nice to have Cole as an ace in the rotation but there are still other starters that could make this team a contender if Jerry is too risk adverse to signing one of the top starters.
