  1. First thing we agree on. Trophy for you.
  2. Greg likes to pinpoint his argument on one factor — Colome’s age. That IS one factor but not the only one. Colome is under control for one more year and he will likely earn around $9 million for next season via salary arbitration. Now if you extend him, you will be paying him even more. He is a very good closer but he is not in the elite tier of closers, even though his stats this year are great. If you trade Colome, you could potentially get a piece back that is useful for the next 6 years, as well as free up $9 million of Colome’s salary (even more money if you planned on extending him) to spend elsewhere, including relief pitching. But trying to understand these other factors/possibilities would destroy Greg’s narrow-minded argument that all the “statniks” on SoxTalk simply hate all older players.
  3. Do you want a bag of balls that badly? ?
  4. You seemed to be fishing for attention/replies when you posted this thread. We were only responding in kind. Don’t be upset now, Charlie Brown.
  5. Two good starts against the Cubs doesn’t make him worth it.
  6. Fernando Tatis Jr. went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI to help the Padres down the Dodgers 5-3 on Sunday. Tatis led off the game with a drive to center field for a solo shot, and he crushed a three-run homer in the fifth for his second dinger of the game. It was a nice exclamation point on a very strong first half for the rookie, who hit a robust .327/.393/.620 with 14 homers and 13 steals in 55 games. If we know anything about the 20-year-old, this is only the beginning.
  7. Palka came up through the Diamondbacks and defensive minded Twins farm system which is likely why he was never called up by the Twins. They knew how bad he was with the glove.
  8. That was good stuff. ? Someone should take that name. Yearnin4Yermin.
  9. Good moves for outfield defense — Tilson / Cordell / Jay
  10. Got to alternate the handedness. It will be nice when this changes once relievers are required to face three batters starting next year.
  11. Nice hustle by Rizzo. Wow.
  12. I didn’t know Tilson’s family posted here. Sorry for calling him boring. ?
  13. Abreu improving both his traditional and advanced stats lately, making everyone happy except for one person.
  14. No one was b****ing. Just commenting on the obvious. It appears you need to calm down and “get a grip.”
  15. Let Abreu hit another bomb instead.
  16. Yep, he seems more likely to be Buehrle’s neighbor.
  17. It was very bad. Even Heads22 agreed. He has zero emotion.
  18. Tilson, worst interview on the planet.
  19. Tilson, get the ball out of the infield. Geez.
