I guess the "momentum" towards being competitive was just dumb luck?
Tom Longo from Brookfield?

Midseason Top 30 at Baseball America
It's nice to see Rutherford having a nice second half but his OPS is still below 700. He needs to get it closer to 800 in my opinion before I consider him a legit prospect. Do you think he repeats AA next year? Is Burger even going to get on the field this year? I thought he was supposed to be back the beginning of June? Also, no Zack Burdi in the top 30 either. Looking more and more like he is one of the 15% percent that never return from Tommy John.

Eloy going on IL
Eloy's play so far this year has looked very similar to Jorge Soler's game. Is that a fair comp to make?

Luis Robert
That's not my point. My point is that Acuna earned his $100 million contract extension by putting up a 142OPS+ and winning rookie of the year as a 20 year old. What has Luis Robert accomplished yet in mlb that makes him worth 100 million plus?

Charlie Tilson Optioned to Charlotte
Ain't no crying in baseball. This dude had his chance and blew it. I hope we never have to see him in a White Sox uniform again. Onward and upward!

Lol. Go look at your comments in the Machado thread. You wrote the definition on homerism in that one. Also, I love the Hawkeroo. I can see my Hawk Solo bobblehead on the shelf as I type this. Thanks for the comparison.

Luis Robert
You do not give this guy the largest contract in team history and more $ than Acuna got before he even plays a game in the Show. That would not be a wise move in my opinion.

Abreu unhappy with roster decisions (seems to want Luis Robert up)
Maybe Jose is tired of the non-stop losing. Maybe is tired of following an incompetent and bunt happy manager. Maybe he is tired of Rick Hahn using a bunch of big words to say nothing at all at every press conference. Maybe he is tired of the tanking.

Exactly the way this season is going. Sinking fast. This is looking more and more like it could be one of the worse second halves in the history of the franchise

Tell it like it is Jose! This team is a sinking ship and the whole organization seems ready for the season to end.

Hopefully it is Luis Robert. If not, then this is just the rearranging of deck chairs on the Titanic

Hope like hell you aren't making comments like this again this time next year.

Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him
It was a joke. Why did the Sox need one last year?

What about trading Colome back to Seattle for Omar? The Sox could use a lefty catcher to platoon with McCann next year since Collins doesn't appear to be close to ready.

The last decade of White Sox baseball has been tiring. Everything has pretty much gone wrong for the White Sox since Rick Hahn took over as GM. I'm not sure why next year is going to be any different. How do the White Sox not have a plethora of mid tier prospects? They haven't had a winning season since 2012. Something does not compute.

What are you willing to give up for him that San Diego would actually want? I assume they would want mlb ready pitching.

Dude, I'm not saying the rebuild is doomed to failure. I'm saying that the Sox are going to need a miracle, and for everything single thing to break in their direction in order to compete next year. Also, you are acting like it is extremely easy to go out and fill 8 rosters spots via free agency in one offseason. Have you not been paying attention to Rick Hahn's free agency signings over the past decade? His track record is absolutely horrendous and it is scary to think about him signing a bunch of tier 2/3 free agents this offseason. Robert, Madrigal, and Kopech are unlikely to even be on the opening day roster next year. We will probably see Adam Engel or Ryan Cordell out there in center on opening day and Yolmer Sanchez at second. As the saying goes, you can't win a Division in April but you can certainly lose it.

Reed gonna force the Sox to keep Collins in AAA for the rest of the season lol.

I disagree. 2020 will be another tanking year. It's not possible to replace 13-14 spots on a roster in one offseason.

Giants are definetely selling. Their GM was just quoted as such earlier today. Dyson, Will Smith, and Bumgardner will all be moved.

Sox @ Royals - 715pm CT
Yep. He was only acquired to flip so the Sox better flip him. Ain't no point to have a closer on a tanking team.

Sox @ Royals - 715pm CT
No bueno. He's gonna get the Alonso treatment next year.

Over half the 25 man roster is AAAA filler 3 years into a rebuild. Giolito and McCann are looking more and more like fools gold as the season wears on. 2023 seems pessimistic but there is no way in hell that this Sox team is competing for anything in 2020. I see the rebuild timeline shaking out like this: 2020=last tank year, 2021=get back to 500, 2022=compete for a wild card

Sox @ Royals - 715pm CT
We are witnessing the bottoming out of a bad bad baseball team. This is setting up to be one of the worse second halves in White Sox history. Everyone from the GM to Manager to players to announcers seems already checked out and ready for the season to be over.

Guys like Mendick, Collins, and Mercedes will be given a shot next year. None of them are ready yet it appears.
