Henson was the best pure qb I ever saw play in college. There is an interesting coincidence that as Henson approached his senior season, the same person who gave the money to build Steinbrenner Indoor Football Facility at Ohio State offered Henson a great deal of money to leave Michigan. I can't blame Henson for leaving for that money but in allowing himself to be bought off by OSU's richest fan, he is not too high in my pantheon of favorite UM qbs and I don't wish him ill will but I have no good wishes in particular for him as a UM player trying to make it somewhere. His loss in 2001 cost us a couple of games and that was the difference in that season - which included the rare OSU win over UM. Steinbrenner got what he paid for - as always.

I do have the power to kick the troll out of here. I agree that the mlb boards suck in part for the reason you give. The reason RPS first pitched to me for coming over here was "no trolls." I haven't seen this troll say anything yet over the line. The minute the troll does, please, anyone, PM me with the post in question and I will ban the troll.

well thank you! now go check the YNOT standings and see who is in total absolute last place even though my average is better than 1/3 of the people who are above me in the standings! Based on YNOT, I am the dumbest stump of the tree. so I don't know s***. I just type what JM tells me too

don't matter what the titles are! are you going at all this week-end? I will be in for all three games. I don't think I've seen you since opening day... too long.
-
since f***ing when??????? you are the reason I came here (now other people who once liked you will hate you... ) and you are my leader in all things! I just do what you say - you offer a nice way to deal with the troll - I will not zap, or zap, as you command!

I am watching - RPS, you ever give me the word and I will do what you say -

welcome to soxtalk especially to another refugee from mlb! like with everything, there is an intelligent disagreement with JM's decisions which I totally respect and the ongoing fill in the blank our manager sucks and every other manager is better thing, especially when it goes on against JM non stop. I wonder - did space aliens replace JM with the manager who went 9-1 just recently and then return him, or is it that the manager looks much smarter when the bullpen doesn't collapse? I admit I cut JM more slack because he took us to a divison title and I know anyone could have managed that team with a pitching staff of 1/2 season Eldred, Baldwin, Parque, Ken Hill (I was at that game and not happy with Mr Hill!) and anyone else we could put behind Sirotka. That to me was managing. I have always wondered why it is so easy to trash our winning managers (i.e., Lamont, Manuel), especially when I have seen so many of the other kind. I also saw steady improvement of the team from 97 to 98, 98 to 99, and 99 to 00. 01 was the injury year and 02 I think we could have tanked and not be contending now if JM didn't hold that team together and recover. And I am always amused that the same people who bash JR White Flag of 97 - 3 games out on 1 August, "we have no chance of winning" are the same ones who proclaim today, 5 August, 3 out, that "we have no chance of winning." But again, the intelligent dissection of managerial moves is always in good taste and you and Carlos Paz and others have made some very worthwhile points. That is the type of stuff that I find educational and informative. and again, welcome!

when did that happen?????? As far as concenred about winning - I remember b****ing about LaRussa - and he won in 83 - and I remember a lot of b****ing about Lamont - and he won in 93 and was ahead in 94 at the lock out - and I hear b****ing about Manuel and he won in 2000. So it is not about winning. This in a city that still reveres Ditka, the only coach who could have failed to have 3 super bowl wins in a row with that team that he had. Chicago fans don't care s*** about winning. They care about posturing and tough guy attitudes and macho poses. Winning is secondary. (I am overstating that but I am making a point. Phil Jackson - 6 NBA titles - is disrespected because "anyone could have won with that team" even thought no one won with that team until he showed up, when Michael Jordan was mocked as the best player to enevr win. And Jaclkson goes out and wins 3 more - but of course anyone could have won withj that tram, aklthoguht no one did. Success is belittled when yuu don't have a neanderthal asshole kicking and screaming on the sidelines to fit some stereotyped image of "coach" or "manager.") I certainly wonder about a few moves JM makes, sometimes more than a few. But don't try to tell me that winning means that much when this city judges managers and coaches. I gre up here- I know better.

whiy is it that any manager who wins a division title for us gets trashed? I don't think a lot of you want to win so much as having something to b**** about. I like JM as a manager.

not changing my name - I was the first cwsox at MLB and first cwsox here and I got the cwsox license plate to prove I am the one, the only, and the original - on the American-Canadian NTN games I am the one and only cwsox, frequent 1st place or at least top 20 winner - the rest, just followers, just my wannabes, my posse, all hoping to be a fraction as cool as I am!

thanks for the crowd reports!

I agree 100% with Mr Showtime - the best name is soxheads and you should definately keep it his example says it all - just like I don't change mine to "cw" or "asshole" or whatever people call me for short - "soxheads" is a great board name and should stay, "heads" is a greta nickname as long as "soxheads" stays Mr Showtime is 100% right both of you: I split the thread best I could, not perfect, but good as I could
-
Mr Showtime, just saw you were there- your feelings on splitting off the non Sox stuff to off topic?
-
agreed - agreed, spiff - soxheads, you agree? that would give us the three who are here (as far as I know)
-
Soxheads, maybe we should split off part of this thread to off topic for that part of the discussion that is not Sox baseball?
-
this is not about sox baseball and thus being moved
-
What would those things be? Homophobia? Which this darn board is so strict about... name 1 person banned for that. name 1. name 1. name 1 person banned from soxtalk. Read what soxheads wrote and ignore everyone else who has no clue what they are talking about. and your pity party has gone on long enough.
-
we won't do that. soxtalk is not into banning and someone who is unpopular will not get banned for that - everyone has an equal opportunity to post, not a polularity contest. he transgresses any of the few hard core things we value, he, like anyone, will be gone - but of we were to Survivor style vote off every one who makes jerky posts, there will only be about 10 of us left!

as a long time friend of yours, your assumptions here are not so
