you forgot to use green on that one, big time. From the way we treated Fisk to the way Cameron found about his trade to the way we handled MB and so many more cases in between, the Sox organization has been pure class, all the way.
  2. Kids at 14 or 15 usually dont know what they like. The last thing they need is to be influenced to become or be gay.........let kids go through their teen years and figure out who they are on their own. bull s*** supreme have you read any studies of sexual/gender development in youth? The field is rich if one looks into the literature. Remember, you life isn't the same as everyone else's life. Many kids know at that age. And it is impossible to "influence" someone to be gay as it is impossible to "influence" someone to be straight. One is what they are. The scientifica/biological literature on that has been posted here before. Not all 14 and 15s know their orientaton - some still struggle - but many, many do - of course this moves ius out of the realm of the "opinon of clugerbmr" and into actual academic and scociological and psycholoigcal empirical worlds of research. Rather than ridicule what you don't want to understand, look up the stats on nationwide violence aganst teens done by peers in high schools over orientation issues - the numbers will astound - and instead of ridicule, maybe suggest what you will do to make the world a better place so that gay bashing and anti-gay violence will cease
  3. exactly right- we are ina great position to take cae of everything we need by taking it one game at a time and not worryng at al about what teams are doing while remembering this is still a 3 way race - today's name was important to set the tone for what lays ahead, as well as establish that Manuel has more guts and desire to win than anyone generally acknowledges - putting White in at the first opportunity, i.e., when the game was RickWhiteProof™, shows that Manuel has a better way than most people think of dealing with s***

I disagree with you strongly on MB in the clubhouse, very much do I disagree with you. I haven't seen that MB quote - please provide the link.

    Buehrle

Everyone does not know that, not at all. People who have been here a while know that some of us know MB and/or the Buehrle family, and the contract that MB, KW, and Hahn agreed to, and then JR messed with, has been discussed here to death in the past. Look into some threads after Sox Fest and before spring training. If JR had not chaged the contract that MB, KW, and Hahn agreed to, he'd be signed now. He will stay with us forever if we ever offer him that or a similar contract again. Our problem is not JR, what was finally offered MB was not fair, not what MB, KW, and Hahn agreed to, and stems from - I guess here - JR's phobia about pitchers on long term contracts.
  6. any ideas who are the starters are for Wed and Thurs games against KC?
  7. the dreaded words, "it's time" last go around with that slogan was deadly 1) Who will win the series (CHW/KC) (2 points)? Sox 2) Will Buehrle keep his streak alive (win or no decision) (Y/N) (2 points)? yes 3) How many errors will the Sox make (4 points)? 1 4) Name a pitcher who will earn a win (either team) (4 points)? Garland 5) How many earned runs will Sox starters give up (5 points)? 9 6) How many times will Carlos Lee reach base (5 points)? 4 7) Who will lead the Sox in runs scored (4 points)? R Alomar 8) Will Aaron Rowand get a start (Y/N) (2 points)? yes 9) Will Billy Koch make an appearance (Y/N) (2 points)? no 10) Will Aaron Guiel hit a homerun (Y/N) (2 points)? no TIEBREAKER: Tuesday's total game time 2:11
  8. my late mother, gone 12 years now, wow time flies, was a real cubs fan, never said the words "White Sox" out loud - she bought me an 83 mug with the team listed - how hard it must ahve been for ehr to go through the store check out with a Sox item that was buying - so it means a lot to me - however, if the house burns down, I grab me and the dogs and I flee and everything can burn as long as the living things survive - again, I still and always have the memories
  9. you know in real life I don't think i have actually booed a Sox player in Sox uniform - I have muttered in the stands or at home about them - next time I see White in a game, who knows - if he has a bunch of saves for us or holds or done good, I will clap when he is announced, if not, I will clap less loudly and tell my game companion that White is an asshole. But that is about all I do. Hell, I never even booed Jaime Navarro or Matt Karchner.
  10. maybe that is why some peopole would voluntarily choose to not be around you all imagine if you were ripped by everyone constantly for what you are - you all have fragile enough egos as it is we see from posts on here - imagine being for really ripped by everyone all the time and at times afraid, physcially afraid of getting beat up because of who you are - that is reality this school as one option among many is good for those who need it
  11. a memory - watching the Sox host the Yankees with the HSC children with me - the most well informed trash talk from children you will ever hear! They were fun as hell, funny as hell, and even had the yankee fans buying them treats - people don't expect kids to heckle the other team's players with erudite comments on their minor league careers - what a fun night! I was just pissed when HSC took them home early, School night my ass. Plus I love being with your kids- they are gems - at least when they are not driving Mom crazy!
  12. 1. it is not that long to me - 2. I was in college then - it is like yesterday to me, child! someday you'll be my age - and some youngin' will discuss your memories as being "really long ago"
  13. VA! I am so glad you have visited - please come back all the time - your type of intelligent baseball discourse will be appreciated here - unlike on mlb - and no trolls, none of that on and on bulls*** - real baseball talk in the baseball side and anything else over here in off topic - ad when we differ, it never gets that childish s*** that happens on mlb - much more respect - VA, I am particularly glad you have checked us out. I welcome you so much! Please spend at least some of your time and share your thoughts here with us - please!
  14. He still sucks though we'll never agree on that but think about it - you need Royce Clayton to have been a Sox - for the rest fo your life you have something to really b**** about - just like I do with Luis Alvarado and Bee Bee Richard - in the proud tradition of Luke Appling and Luis Aparicio: Luis Alvarado and Bee Bee Richard and _____________ [fill in the blank] in retrospect, the Royce Clayton tenure did not promote anything good
  15. very good question - I have sat here for an hour trying to think of an answer - especially after posting the other day about all the s*** I have - including a Royce Clayton autograph (someone had to have one) - but I had a bunch of stuff before and lost almost all in my divorce (to my older son but once it went to his mother's hosue I never saw it again) - if I lost it all now again I'd be bummed to say the least - but what I value most (and this is not the answer you want and this is the sucky Hallmark moment) is the memories of every game I've been to, the people I was there with, the fun times we had win or lose - being thre for the 2000 playoffs, my grandson's first game, my sons first game, my younger sisters first game, dancing in the aisle whern we clinched the tie in 1993 - when Carlton tied the record in was it 93? - the foursome we have every year with some long time friends for the Cubs game closest to my birthday - the oevrnight - that is what I value most sounds syrupy but true
  16. bulls***. Royce is not prolly the worst ss we ever had you never saw Luis Alvarado or Bee Bee Richard play
  17. certainly not now - he has the whole off season to shoot off his mouth - your entire post made great sense
  18. ok, I have deleted 45 of 48 PMs and it still says my mailbox is 98% full and I can't find a way to make those 45 old messages disappear out of my life and my mailbox deletion pile (where it is) forever - someone, please help
