  9. Hey, didn't you know she has posting about you all over the internet? RPS will be reading some of her better comments about you during the broadcast when the game gets boring! That is, is S&R is still arounf.
  10. Since the time change, I notice that my "local time" as determined by this board is an hour off - maybe it was before but I didn't notice. When I try to correct it for daylight savings time it goes to two hours off. It will be 8:41 am when I post this put the time shown will be 9:41 I am sure. A small thing - but a thing none the less. edit: the time shown was indeed exactly one hour off.

    Dilemma

Yes, Tony Blair is noticably antiAmerican. This type of intentional self-imposed stupidity is really disheartening. Grow up. Your self-willed ignornace of the world is what is antiAmerican. A person with personal integity not only spends time reading things from all points of views (and has a idea what these points of views are... that is a jab by the way) but intentionally gets infommation and opinions from sources that are in disagreement with what one believes. It is a way to test and check what one does believe and see if it needs modification as well as give a person a clue what is going on. (That was another jab.) Of course to be the living embodiment of the Ugly American (a literary reference) and the Beavis and Butthead stereotype of stupid uninformed prejuidiced Americans (a cultural reference) is a life goal, I suppose.

    Dilemma

yo, as a poly sci major and then finally minor, I found it helpful to learn that there are always more than 1 or 2 or 3 options and all that goes into these things - to see the myriad of possibilities each one wiith its things to recommend and to speak against it as a choice - and the unintended consequences of actions that could/should be foreseen when ideology or wishing is set aside and all factors considered, which happens so infrequently - it has been a help in understanding the way the world works but doesn't leave me sanguine about policy options in most cases - all in all I am glad I stayed with it as a minor just for that (as well as what else I learned). I dropped it as a double major when one of the professors took a sabbatical (it was a small college, Nortk Park on the N side of Chicago). Maybe you want to keep it as a minor? Or not - your call of course. But I know what you are talking about.
  13. Redford Township, borders western Detroit in Wayne County, St Mary's parish
  14. not to worry - if we win all our home games and go 2-1 or 3-0 on all our road trips we will get at least a wild card!
  15. Wasn't there an article in the Trib about how Paciorek was sexually abused by a priest in his childhood? I remember reading it. It was a moving piece. Might have been Det News or Free Press though yes and same priest (at St Mary's in Redford) also did his next two brothers but not the youngest (Jim, the one who played qb at Michigan). So his own burden plus feeling guilt about not protecting his brothers - although in that era how could he have, as a kid, made a charge about a priest? So he had his own things to deal with and his guilt and it was affecting him in the classic clinical ways so he needed to go back and deal with it all to free himself up for the rest of his life - which he has, and he sounds happy now. Redford was next to wear I lived in Detroit when I was an assistant (Lutheran) pastor in Dearborn and the Paciorek family is very well known and loved there. So I followed Tom's Sox career with extra interest, as well as his broadcast career. Never met him, but feel a special connectionwith him and glad he has exorcised his pain from the past - at least as much is as possible. He does work with other now adult victims of sexual abuse as children at the hands of priests.
  16. Paciorek wasn't pushed - he left to deal with personal issues and be closer to his family (all from Redford Township, suburban west border of Detroit). DJ has grown much each year. First year no chemistry but I think they click now. I even enjoy DJ now on network games without Hawk.
  17. ask RPS about the nickname "whip wreck" he is another noted biker (in his case a bike) that was an RPS nickname before CredeFan before Mike South before any of the dozens of names he has gone by - I think he is on the lam or in a witness protection program
  18. and back 100% agree with you - except I was dj, not sports announcer, in college but still know something about filling air time and I am so glad we have Ed and John year in and year out - I also love Hawk and DJ - and loved Hawk and Paciorek - it is good to hear Tom do the occasional Tigers broadcast but he kind of raps on the Sox now and again and I don't like to hear that
  19. I was trying to say something more polite than "is PK slamming his cock into your loved one right now?" Ok? Happy? Now: Back to the euphemisms - wonder how many times PK scores at his in-room ball game tonight - Paulie handing out personalized bats Paulie playing "hide the ball park hot dog"
  20. I love them! I really really enjoy them! Not since Harry's early days have I enjoyed the radio announcers so much. Your opinion?
  21. the name Crash must run in the family!
