  1. I hope so - I just have never liked him, never saw anything that be brought to the table
  2. maybe he is trying to win a prize in the Body for Life 'before and after' picture category -
  3. I don't worry whether it is "good" for us or not - never try and pick your opponents or their roster for it may come back and bite you in the ass - we play who we play and injuries are a part of the game and whoever is out there, our job is to beat them.
  4. must be a hell of a diet!
  5. ok - I knew someone would poke a hole in that - so Kelly is the only pitcher left from the opening day roster of 2000 - is that better? (and that is what I meant - )
  6. what nI'd like to see most is one (or more) Sox batters hit over 50 since that would mean we win some games - as well, the MB and Colon combo doing well means wins where it counts - I'd prefer that over a no hitter which is cool but only 1 win.
  7. I believe in 14 wins from a pitcher that we didn't expect half of that from. I think DW can be a very solid pitcher for a number of years.
  8. I agree - and now maybe Porzio is out. I want to see Kelly on our opening day roster - the only pitcher we still have from the 2000 team -
  9. ahhhhh....... that right there is the very definition of a cubs fan ... so they will trash talk away
  10. what did he do now - if joey ever got his s*** together...
  11. and for that pitch. I am reminded why I never liked Porzio.
  12. is it possible for these scrub announcers to on occasion mention the name of the Sox fielders? And Porzio is off my invite list for Thanksgiving for that error
  13. I'm less than thrilled that Daubach crossed the line.
  14. My recollection is that the RV desire and the JR offer were not that far apart. If I am wrong, correct me. I ws angry when we let RV go - he was our career grand slam leader, he hit timely and well, he played more than adequete 3rd base, was a clear fan favorite, and after he left we has the parade of Nortons and their ilk until we got Perry. If I am not right in remembering that the $$s were not that far apart, someone let me know. We should have kept Robin. If he got into it with Bevington, more power to him! Bevington was as stupid a manager as there ever was.

you may have a solution there, short tem
  16. why isn't Daubach in the players union?
  17. I am in no rush to trade CLee. He improves every year and this year his bat could be awesome. CLee is everyone's favorite trade bait year in and year out, and he remains with us getting better and better.

I hear you on closer by committee but I don't see JP clearing waivers and we know Sandy will be on the DL at some point - hell, Miguel could get injured, hope he doesn't - then JP who knows our staff and is ok enough, I say we keep 3 catchers.

given PK's hip problems the idea of him ever catching again are ludicrous - not sure who posted that and don't care, I passed on it then because I didn't feel like being in dispute with anyone. If Graf could short term catch, it would be cool - so would JP learning how to play all the other postions so he could be of value as the ultimate utility man - is Graf fully back from his injury? If the question is between JP and Rios, JP might have more value to us in this situation unless Rios can catch... of course an injury to anyone may answer the question its own self
  20. I'll live with that - By the way, got the second Sox tattoo today - the logo that Soxfest is using as his avatar - the dude placed it slighltly more forward on my ankle than I intended - can't b**** because I watched him, I didn't see it in right perspective till it was too late - oh well it done is done - it looks great and is just going to be a bit more prominent than I had planned -
  21. I don't give enough credit to Buehrle???????? Me??????? Since when?????? I don't think MB has been the key to every good thing and good player... that is overly giving credit, I think. A manager sets the mood and with all the injuries in 2001 the Sox still hung in and came back - and after the June/July plummet in 2002, the Sox still ended up on an up note. All bad cannot be ascribed to the manager and none of the good. I don't think JM is the best manager in history. I disagree with his decisions often enough. And I don't mind being the lesser-agreed to position on this. I think Manuel is a better manager than given credit for, and his demeanor is a better one for handling our team.
  22. It wasn't moot to me - and it was very clear what Pinella was doing on that play, and it was a team failure to follow through that was behind our loss in that game and in all 3 games.
  23. On one play, in one game, yes. I was there... I saw it. I also saw that Lou's team didn't advance to the series in any year he was there, and that last season they missed the playoffs and he was gone. I also think that JM held the team together in 2001 and 2002 when it could have fallen apart and if JM hadn't of done that, we wouldn't be looking at good things in 2003. Calm and steady is the better way to manage young ballplayers than bombast. In my opinion...
