  1. I was at that game and it was by far, the best game of my life, in any sport, and that includes all 85 bears home games, Blackhawks back in the 60's . yea, it's been done, but it looked so cool that i'm good with it . but it only works it everyone does it.
  2. Awesome . i used to see her post over on WSI, where i've been for over 20 years.
  3. after these next few games, there's no more fucking around . time to cinch it up and hunker down, and get the job done.
  4. CONGRATULATIONS to the CHICAGO WHITE SOX on becoming the 2021 American League Central Division Champions !!!
  5. I was 53 then, and i'm thinking that i might just be the oldest guy on here.
  6. That Kimbrel trade was just the type of thing that Ken Williams would have pulled off . it was just so like him.
  7. The radar doesn't look good for either Detroit or Cleveland.
  8. astros just took the lead in AZ , with back to back HRs
  9. Normally i dislike a blowout, but today i say lets get 10 or more . just get the W
  10. Back in the 80's, i used to live right down the road from the old Texas Stadium, and would go to Arlington Stadium for every White Sox game . the heat was miserable, but i would still prefer it to this type of park.
  11. It seems that no matter who the opposition is, or what lineup the Sox put out there, that they can always just find a way to lose . i find it hard to believe that they can't put some wins together against these bad teams . there's no consistency . this is just incredibly worrisome, unnerving, and borderline alarming . i keep waiting for this team to start playing like they mean it, but i'm getting worried . the difference between playing Houston at home, or in that Minute Maid Park madhouse, is night and day . they need to find a way to puts some wins together . today would be good.
  12. The Al division series starts 3 weeks from today . my only worry is that they are so used to laying back and playing in stress free conditions, that when it comes crunch time, and the pressure is on, at what looks like will be at Minute Maid Park, will they just be able to turn it on when needed, in that high octane environment.
  13. I was seriously considering just giving up on baseball, as it becomes more and more like some video game . pitching and defense (especially defense) have always been my favorite parts of the game . i do love extended rallies though . hit and run, hitting the other way to move guys over, the stolen base, walks and singles together with ringing doubles down the line or in the gap, will do it for me as far as offense goes . the whole home run thing was great for getting people back in the stands after the strike in 94, but there is so much more to the game that we all love, than just hitting it out of the park.. Also, i was/am a huge Madrigal fan, and will miss that guy . he was just starting to adjust to running the bases and playing defense in the big leagues, when he got hurt, and the way that he turned the lineup over is sorely missed.
  14. Well, i'm all in, have drunk the cool aid, and am a true believer . sink or swim, fuck or fall back, i now believe that this team can, and will, go far into the post season, and perhaps all the way to the promised land... With the team that they have built here, it sure looks as if the powers that be, really do know what they're doing after all, and it seems like the White Sox could be one of the powerhouses of baseball for years to come.
  15. I've been watching baseball for 50 odd years, and i can honestly say that i've never been bored with it . i love the game with a passion, and relish the time from the beginning of spring training until the final out of the World Series . i love the defensive part of the game most, and the addition of Robert really piqued my interest... I've patiently waited my whole adult life for the White Sox to acquire a five tool center fielder that is one of the best in the game . it's always been a passion of mine, great center fielders . i have autographs from some of the games greatest in that position, stemming back to the mid 60's when i met players through my uncle, who was in advertising, and my cousin, a former Chicago sportscaster, who took me to my first Cub game back in 1965 ( my diehard White Sox fan dad, who was recently deceased, would have been appalled.
  16. I have zero confidence in Kimbrell right now, he seems to be trying too hard or something . hopefully he can straighten himself out and lead us to the promised land . i'm one of those guys who was a huge Nick Madrigal fan, so this guy better make it count every time he steps on the rubber.
  17. Either they were playing above their heads and the real White Sox are just an average team, or this is just a team-wide slump, and they will start playing great ball again . i rather think that it's the latter.
  18. Adam Engel is one of the bright spots on this team . great defense and speed, and always hustling like you're supposed to, unlike some of the other players on this team, who seem to be sleep walking through the games.
