QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 03:34 PM) Just bought The Kingdom and Rescue Dawn on DVD, can't wait to watch them. I've heard nothing but great things about both. Rescue Dawn is such an amazing story. Not only Bale, but Davies and Zahn are so good in it.
  3. Rumors abound that Ryan Mallett may transfer to UCLA after the retirement of Lloyd Carr. Supposedly his mom spoke out about something. Not sure of what yet.
  4. QUOTE(gbuk @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 01:59 PM) Please tell me this isn't a serious post. Nah, he'll split it with Sherron Collins as Kansas goes undefeated and wins the national title. Too bad nobody will notice because nobody cares about Kansas anymore.
  5. She says it as if it is common knowledge. I think if that was the case, the US would have confirmation of some sort and it would of been all over the news.
  6. QUOTE(bmags @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 10:48 PM) was KU favored? I assume they were but could be wrong.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 10:52 PM) I must have watched a different overtime than you did. Portland ran their whole offense though Jack. You did. Everything was Roy and Aldridge. Jack had the nice lay in off the Gordon turnover. Jack had a chance to win it at the end of the first OT and missed. I'd also like Hinrich to average more than 4 assists a game, as well.
  8. Yowzas, some gamblers mad that McAnderson didn't get into the endzone on that last run? Not sure what spread was.
  9. In the clutch, let's stop having Gordon dribble. Let's run him off screens. He constantly turns the ball over in the clutch.
  10. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 10:00 PM) The Bulls and Blazers look exhausted out there 4th game in 5 days for the Bulls. Think Portland is finishing up a long road trip as well. Joe Smith has been solid.
  11. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 09:48 PM) I dont know what filter TNT uses for their cameras at basketball games, but the games always seem to "glow"(for lack of a better word) compared to the dismal basement like feeling that comcast gives you. Its hard to explain, games just look better. I love watching games in HD from the United Center. Nice and bright and clear. Depends on some of the arenas and how they are lit, I think.
  12. Forgot the Orange Bowl was on. Why do they wait so long for the title game Monday?
  13. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 08:55 AM) totally agree. I read this stupid article on EW.com that said Letterman will gain in popularity because of the writer's strike (because of the deal he's worked out independently.) the only problem being....HE'S NOT FUNNY. Agreed. I never liked Letterman. When Conan takes over for Leno, Conan will kill in the ratings.
  14. Gordon is good...except in the last minute.
  15. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 08:35 PM) It's just hit me that Ryan Sweeney is no longer a White "Sock"... I am really sad right now. It's more like he is no longer a Charlotte Knight.
  16. I'm willing to bet we extend OC sometime during the year.
  17. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 02:51 PM) Iowa is horrid. I wouldn't be stunned if they were dead last. They played Indiana tough yesterday, but I guess if you give Iowa a few weeks, they'll become...well...Iowa again. It is so depressing how bad Michigan's program is come. Curse of Steve Fisher.
  18. Wait, you have to call plays? I agree, a lot of times my guys just stand around. They don't mention plays in the manual. I like the game a lot except that it lags a tad on PS2. Best Buy had a bunch of PS3's for $350 yesterday, almost got one but I just can't afford it right now. Look at me all responsible...I hate it.

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jan 3, 2008 -> 12:50 PM) Saw Sweeney Todd last night, I loved it. It is extremely bloody, so if you're taking a friend who is squemish I would give them a heads up. I saw the revival on Broadway in 2006 with Pati LuPone and thought it was every bit as entertaining. They did a good job expanding the limitations from the stage. The cast was great. Bohnem-Carter (sp?) especially stood out, she was phenomenal. I got passes from work for this. Just have to find the time.
  20. Ha Ha, same here, Balta. Except I took a two hour nap. Sucks we gave up both Gio and DLS, but works for me.
  21. That is the thing, when I do that with the shot stick with a big man, he dunks, but Josh Bone missed a bunch of lay ups yesterday cuz he threw it up short from near the bucket. I'll figure it out.
  22. Kerry Collins, speaking on WFAN, said that the Titans kneeled down at the end of the Colts-Titans game because they knew the Colts wouldn't call a timeout. Collins said that the Titans originally called a running play, but he was told over his headset that the Colts wouldn't call a timeout to potentially force Tennessee to punt with less than 20 seconds left. Pressed further, Collins said the Colts and Titans coaches had "a communication," which is sure to raise collusion questions. Clearly it would have been a long shot for the Colts to win, but Browns fans won't enjoy hearing this one. Related: Browns, Colts
  23. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 2, 2008 -> 10:42 PM) I used to think Stoops was one of the best coaches in the nation. Oops. That onside kick call, among other things, was ATROCIUS. The call to kick it and the kick itself were a joke. did it go 7 yards? I think Stoops is still a good coach. They will have a top tier team next year.
  24. I'd be nice if Randal would stay out of foul trouble. Plain and simple, we lost Young and Tatum and nobody is replacing their scoring. Not only their scoring, but we can't close out games. See SLU and Butler game. We may just have to take our lumps this year, and that sucks because Falker maybe my favorite Saluki ever and to waste his senior year kills me.
