  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 01:03 AM) It's all about facing righties for Duque. He still has good enough stuff to be tough on righties. Lefties get such a good look at his pitches, and he definitely doesn't have the type of control he needs against lefties. His stats are actually very similar vs. righties and lefties. Lefties bat .287 compared to .275 for righties. He walks lefties a lot more.
  2. Season's over. But seriously, our play at home baffles me and concerns me if he have homefield in the playoffs.

No way! It's Hot-Lanta, baby! Been thru there once and wasn't impressed at all.
  4. Everyone picking Detroit to be a surprise team is going out on such a limb. Sure, they have 3 good recievers full of potential. Is Rogers going to stay healthy? Is Harrington gonna grow up? I like Kevin Jones and their coach, but don't give me Jeff Garcia love. Their defense will be better, but nowhere near the Bears caliber.

Also saw "Bad News Bears" today. The little things they changed from the original pissed me off and prevented me from liking it as a movie. I laughed a few times, but they changed too much.

Saw a trailer for "Sound of Thunder". I read the short Ray Bradbury story in high school and liked it. Looking forward to it.

I got detention in junior high once for throwing snowballs in the woods. Not at anyone. That was BS!

  9. 2-0, Kong goes yard!
  10. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 07:08 PM) My mind must be going to crap. I thought Frank hit a triple off the top of the wall in his debut? Blame baseball-almanac.com if this is the case. That is where I saw the box score.
  11. Though Mark Prior was the most touted pitcher since Gooden?
  12. Frank Thomas made his major league debut for the Sox vs. the Milwaukee Brewers, going 0-4 with 1 RBI.

Bullpen, hell yes, but as a starter he couldn't even cut it in Safeco.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 09:55 PM) I've gotten halfway into 'The Machinist', is it worth finishing? I hope I won't be dissapointed. Is there a good twist coming? I liked that movie. I do remember it being kind of slow. The last 20 mins or so is very good.
  15. Mora pops up to Konerko. Inning over. Top of 8th, 3-1 Sox. I'm out all, peace, and I mean that!
  16. Byrnes pops up to Dye. Newhan stays at 2B. 2 outs Mora up.
  17. STolen base for Newhan on first pitch to Byrnes
  18. Politte on to pitch to Byrnes.
  19. Roberts pops up to Crede, 1 out. Newhan at 1st. Byrnes up.
  20. Dreaded lead off walk. Roberts up.
  21. My last inning of PBP if anyone is actually reading this. I'm off to gym after Cotts goes 1-2-3.
  22. Cotts in. David Newhan leads off.
  23. QUOTE(CubsSuck1 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 06:42 PM) lol I work there, Culvers that is. If you are at the one in Gurnee, hook me up.
  24. Konerko pops up on the first pitch, inning over. 3-1 Sox, Bottom of 7
  25. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 06:38 PM) The Orioles and the Sox do not socialize. There is no risk of them stopping at the same DQ. Culvers Concrete > DQ Blizzard
