  1. QUOTE(JimH @ May 29, 2005 -> 09:00 PM) I was thinking the same thing. He might last this week, until El Duque comes off the DL which doesn't have to be until Friday. Walker gets sent down for Frank, if Gload comes up I can't see them keeping Perez over Harris at this point. Harris has been decent and he's been doing the job spelling for Iguchi. I think Frank is being activated in McCarthy's place. Probably Cotts or Walker down for Gload, hopefully Cotts. Not sure what would happed when El Duque comes back. Probably will want to keep an extra guy on the bench for road interleague games, but who knows. I'm rambling now cuz it is frustrating watching these guys. Can't turn a double play and giving up long balls. 3 guys in the pen worth a damn, Marte, Politte, and Hermy.
  2. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 29, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) Just imagine how embarrasing when they announce him at the AllStar game NOW BATTING FOR THE AMERICAN LEAGUE, FIRST BASEMAN PAUL KONKERO. Pauly comes into this game with a 208 BA with 13 home runs. Too many other 1B playing better than Konerko, but didn't Torre select Giambi a few years ago when he was batting .220?
  3. Adkins could probably do better than Vizcaino, Shingo, and Cotts.
  4. I hate when a pitcher doesn't get a call that would be strike 3 and than next pitch is parked.
  5. QUOTE(jerseysox @ May 29, 2005 -> 08:25 PM) what's the logic? paulie is 0 for 3 today so you want to get rid of him? Yeah, this is the only bad game Paulie has had all year.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ May 29, 2005 -> 08:23 PM) I'd take Morneau over PK in a heartbeat. I second that notion.
  7. Nice inning, but uribe shouldn't of just ran into Soriano's tag like that. Let Pods get to 1st.
  8. QUOTE(JimH @ May 29, 2005 -> 07:04 PM) Brian, who's that in the avatar, Aguilera? Love that caboose. Yes, some call her skanky, but I'd hit it.
  9. I was in the other room and all of a sudden I hear, "UH OH!" And than run to see the ball land in the upper deck.
  10. Well, I know if Park walks the two guys in front of me, that I'd swing right away as well.
  11. Come on, Carl. Surprise me.
  12. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 29, 2005 -> 06:39 PM) Why do you guys think Crede has so much trade value? He plays good defense but he can't hit for s*** and 3rd base is an offensive position. Nobody here is saying that Crede alone will get you Huff or Chavez, but Randa is up their in age and has never had a real breakout year. He had a GREAT first week of the year and since has been average. I would give Fields a shot before trading for Randa and Fields probably isn't ready. Where's Herbert Perry?
  13. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 29, 2005 -> 06:38 PM) Not the best approach when we can't score for f***ing s***. 2nd and 3rd and no outs, if you hold em to 1 run, you did something.
  14. I still believe it is a pipedream, but if you want to replace Crede at 3B, go all out and get Chavez, unless it costs McCarthty. Despite his bad start, I just think Chavez would rake at the Cell.
  15. Garland not getting that outside corner to lefties at all.
  16. Nice range by Crede at 3rd.
  17. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 29, 2005 -> 06:29 PM) It's Joe Randa time. What is everyon'es obsession with Randa? Has he done anything spectacular since the calendar turned to May?
  18. Why did Ozzie take Rowand out of the 3 hole? Not sure if it was discussed. His average went up since his move there.
  19. What the hell am I suppose to b**** about tonight?
  20. This Giants/Padres game is a snoozefest. Crowd dead, announcers dull. Rain, Rain, Go Away!
  21. :fyou Mother Nature
  22. QUOTE(rangercal @ May 28, 2005 -> 03:44 AM) does anyone else notice all the cub freak injuries seem to happen at wrigley? choi in 03 mueller in 01 prior and giles running into each other in 03 I know Im missing more , I just had 5 heine's so I can't think. I believe Mueller's knee injury happened at Busch, but I could be wrong. Either way, I get your point.
  23. QUOTE(JimH @ May 28, 2005 -> 02:26 AM) I think they'll win 1 of the next two and it's a .500 road trip. Considering our past West trips, I'll take that.
  24. Mark Prior - S - CHC ESPN is reporting that an MRI found a slight fracture in Mark Prior's elbow. This will put the right-hander on the DL. For how long is anyone's guess at this point, but since he'll have to be shut down for at least a few weeks, it's unlikely he'll be back before the All-Star break. Jon Leicester could be called up to replace him in the rotation. May. 27 - 9:58 pm et
