    QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 15, 2016 -> 10:24 AM) He knows that you know that she doesn't know. But does he know what she did last summer?

    QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 15, 2016 -> 09:26 AM) If it's not shot in the "found footage" way I'd be interested. This x100000. That is what I found annoying about original. And it came off as a comedy with the dude talking holding the camera.

    Here is the IMDb description of VALENCIA: Waking up from a car accident, a young woman finds herself in the basement of a man who says he saved her life from a chemical attack that has left the outside world uninhabitable.

    If they tested it with audiences and liked it, how was it kept a secret? Mary Elizabeth's Winstead pretty much confirmed its a sequel on Facebook.

    I thought Cloverfield was annoying but this teaser is interesting and kudos to them for keeping it secret.

    Did they secretly make a Cloverfield sequel? If so, why? http://www.slashfilm.com/10-cloverfield-la...-cloverfield-2/

    QUOTE (Tony @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 04:50 PM) 2016 is going to be the year of Superhero movie fatigue. I think audiences are finally just going to say, enough. I can see where some get worn out on them but as long as Marvel keeps pumping out quality movies like they are, I'll be there. Not very positive after the Apocalypse trailer but looking forward to Deadpool.

    I think we should just change this into a Star Wars thread so prequel talk should be accepted. Or are you all prequelracists?

    QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 09:34 AM) Also - bravo Oscars. Beside the Martian love, hard to complain about much. Hoping Brie Larson wins (have not seen Room, just love Brie Larson) best Actress. She should win out of those nominees. JLaw is 26 and getting the Streep treatment that she must be nominated. I didn't see Joy but reviews are lackluster. Benicio Wouldve fit in on True Detective s2. Staring, whispering. Zzzzzzz

    Let's leave the greatness of The Revenant alone and rip on Sicario.
  18. Brian replied to Brian's topic in SLaM
    I was told Sicario was going to be nominated for everything. I know I'm in the minority but outside of the way it looked, that movie was a bore fest. Liked the first 30 mins but than splat.

    Only big surprise with Oscar nominations is Tom Hardy getting supporting nom for The Revenant which I'm happy about. Don't think he was getting recognized anywhere else.
  20. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jan 13, 2016 -> 11:11 PM) I'm with you in that minority. Most of the time I listen to DJ and Farmer on the radio while watching the game on TV with the volume muted. Edit: I also loved the listening to Farmer and Stone together. The sarcasm between the two was great! The people who like Farmer say they like his sarcasm and joking around but nobody mentions how he actually calls a game. It's horrible. He doesn't describe plays well at all. And his voice isn't made for play by play. Time to move on.
  21. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 07:02 AM) Alan Rickman, 69 Noooooooooo!

    Finished rewatch f 4, 5, 6. Jedi doesn't hold up until the last 20 mins. Gets love because of New Hope and Empire IMO. Gonna watch, gulp, prequels next week.
  23. Hate the Cubs all you want but Kasper is solid. Now time to get a new radio pbp voice.

    QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Jan 13, 2016 -> 09:51 AM) I wouldn't be surprised if Bergdahl gets 5 years for desertion. I can't imagine him getting life. I've only watched 2 but did any soldiers lose their lives because of directly what he did? 5 years as a Taliban prisoner is something some people could look at and look at as punishment enough.
