I think it's hard to criticize much until we see the next 2. Some people don't like that Ren wasn't that powerful but he probably will be in ep 8 and more so in ep 9.

Finn was a storm trooper, kidnapped as a child and trained. Him holding his own made sense because Ren isn't as strong as he thought he was and will get more evil and stronger through the next two movies.
