QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 20, 2013 -> 10:42 PM) Saw Silver Linings Playbook tonight, it was excellent. Interesting premise, but the genius was just in the execution. Also, Jennifer Lawrence is one hot mama. I'm with you on both accounts. I don't see what the people who didn't like it saw. Jennifer Lawrence isn't drop dead gorgeous but their is just something about her. I don't get how you can watch a movie on a computer. I will rent indy flicks on my ipad for my train rides but movies like Django or ZDT, I wanna watch on a big screen.
  2. Ya know ya suck when you lose at home to Illinois State.
  3. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 20, 2013 -> 04:56 PM) Yes it did. None of the replays showed it did. Glad the upheld it just for the Harbaugh tantrum.
  4. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 20, 2013 -> 04:52 PM) That Harry Douglas catch was not a catch, not sure what the refs and Mike pereira or whatever were looking at. Didn't hit the ground.
  5. No PI? Lot of contact.
  6. I think this is over. Don't see Ryan getting them in end zone.
  7. Battle of the bottom feeders on ESPNU tonight! SIU vs. ISU!
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 20, 2013 -> 06:53 AM) Especially with the setting of Hinkle Fieldhouse, that was awesome. Still hard to believe that they both lost to a 1-4 Big Ten team. Two of my buddies got tix and drove to the game. Lucky bastards. Not as fun as watching AJ Graves throw in a half court shot at the SIU Arena to win a game because Mullins couldn't make any free throws. Ugh.
  9. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 20, 2013 -> 02:08 AM) I love that feeling of filling out 101 applications and not hearing back from 1. Know the feeling. It's getting to a point where if I don't know someone, I don't bother.
  10. He struck out less in his whole career than Dunn has in the last 4, i believe I read somewhere. My mom grew up a huge Cardinals fan in SoIl in th3 50's and 60's and she was crying yesterday when she heard.
  11. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 20, 2013 -> 06:42 AM) Noah was awful when he played. Whether it was a bad matchup or not showing up, I'm not sure. I didnt get to see the game, but Noah has been one of the best centers in the league so far. If healthy, he needs to be out there for defense at least.
  12. Yeah, So Butler/Gonzaga was pretty epic.
  13. At least it's something
  14. Yeah, why would you want to give McDermott the ball?
  15. I like seeing ESPN throw up the Valley standings and seeing SIU above the 0-6 Redbirds.
  16. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 19, 2013 -> 05:03 PM) I actually like the fact that's he's around while SIU is down cause I can actually enjoy watching him play. If he was around in our glory years I'd just despise him. Good point. #1 Syracuse
  17. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 19, 2013 -> 04:39 PM) Creighton-Shockers and Lville-Cuse nearly identical basketball games right now. Why doesn't McDermott leave the Valley?

QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 05:23 PM) I never watched Archer, but I'm an H. Jon Benjamin fan. Is it a serial, or can you just jump in? Netflix streaming
  19. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jan 16, 2013 -> 11:47 PM) http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/jason-la...nator-according Unless Marinelli waants to leave, their is no way I'm getting rid of him.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 16, 2013 -> 10:38 PM) I really liked The Artist. Not so much The Hurt Locker, but that's not really my genre. The Artist was both up my alley and a real masterpiece. Not many filmmakers can do something so well while not taking themselves super seriously (see Lincoln for a film taking itself seriously) I loved The Artist. When you have a time in films where everything is so big and loud, than you see this charming silent movie, you see how much acting is non verbal. Also simple story telling and filmmaking can make a great movie without a cut every 2 seconds and constant camera movement.
  21. I remember Musberger mentioning dead gf during title game. Why wouldn't espn tell him o at least not emotion that if they knew?
  22. I'm curious how Deadspin got turned onto a story like this.
  23. That article is confusing. Anyone got cliff notes?

I thought ZERO DARK THIRTY was really good but somewhat over hyped. The compound assault was extremely well done but the other stuff felt like it was just killing time. It's hard to judge since its actual events but things happened to conveniently. And I didn't know who the lesser people they were chasing were. Expected torture scenes to be tougher as well. The people criticizing those scenes obviously didnt see it. I'd put it behind Argo, Playbook, beasts, and PI in Best pic category.
