  1. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 27, 2011 -> 12:30 PM) Going to be at the Royal Rumble this Sunday. I am seriously as excited as a little kid would be for it. It's bogus Chicago has never hosted one.
  2. QUOTE (Chi Town Sox @ Jan 27, 2011 -> 10:15 AM) Prepare to hurl This. They were talking about it during the SA/Utah game last night. It will happen and Griffin and Love will have to fight for the last spot. What a joke.
  3. There has to be some assistant coach at a major program somewhere that SIU could go after. Forget a coach with ties to the program. Just get a coach that has paid his dues and knows what it is like to be successful.

Only two more episodes of "Friday Night Lights". So sad. Good to see my girlfriend, Tyra, comes back next week.
  5. If Love doesn't make the All Star team, it would be a shame. Don't even think Blake should make it over him.
  6. After watching Carlwell in high school it was kind of sad seeing him plop up and down the court last night. What a waste.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 26, 2011 -> 11:59 PM) The rest of BYU isn't bad at all. Emery is a very solid guard, and Davies kept BYU in the game early on tonight. I like BYU's role players a lot more than Davidson's when Curry was there. San Diego State's length inside is impressive, but they don't shoot very well from the perimeter. Leonard has great hands and SDS is athletic but not very strong. They will have problems the 2nd weekend of tournament. Hard for me to be impressed with rest of BYU when Jimmer scores over half their points. You gotta run two guys at him and make others beat you. Jimmer is more deadly than Curry was from what I have seen. Give him a split second if being open and he rips it.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 26, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) SIU? They just looked bad from about the 4 minute mark of the first half on, especially for a 8 to 10 minute span starting at said 4 minute mark. Looked like they have never seen a press before. Or a zone or a coach with a clue.
  9. They needed to sign someone that makes Sabathia look thin

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jan 26, 2011 -> 08:06 AM) Watched the first two episodes of Lights Out. Another winner for FX. Like Terriers, though, I think it was not marketed well. Most of the previews I saw showed bits of boxing matches. I imagine there will be some boxing as the season goes along, but the show is really about the main character's struggles after leaving the sport. Last night was very good. I think next week is a big episode for the show because we assume Lights has to do the rematch but doesn't know it yet and can the show go for a few weeks with minimum boxing scenes. Hope the storylines click.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 25, 2011 -> 10:13 PM) I know a lot of people in Illinois are familiar with Iman Shumpert. The light has gone on for Shumpert, and he's putting up some insane numbers. Nearly had a quadruple double tonight while shutting down the dangerous Malcolm Delaney. Usually I'd beg a GT player to stay around another year, but if he can be a first round pick, I'll be thrilled to see the local kid make the league. Saw him play Brandon Paul in Pontiac. Both guys were killing that day. Izzp dismisses Lucious for rest of year. Ouch
  12. I'm trying to pull for GB over Pitt but Packer fans at work are making it tough. People I don't even talk crap to.
  13. Come on, ESPN. Regional coverage, damnit!
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 06:30 PM) Wouldn't that be good news for the Bears if Harris retired, as they'd save money out of the deal? IMO, yes
  15. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 06:21 PM) Tommie Harris retired. Where did you see/hear this? Can't find it anywhere
  16. Brian replied to Kyyle23's topic in SLaM
Was reading stuff from TV Critics press conference and AMC has yet to renew Mad Men and they don't know when or if it will be back. Rumors are they are having trouble negotiating deals with actors. Gulp
  17. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jan 24, 2011 -> 12:13 AM) How does it feel SIU to give ISU its first MVC win. We're so bad. I'd kill to trade coaches
  18. How many times is Nantz going to use the term, "The Jets go Greene!" Already sick of it.
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 23, 2011 -> 08:16 PM) Jay Cutler will have an MRI on his left knee Monday and it is believed that he suffered a torn MCL in Sunday's season-ending loss to the Packers. Lots of people will be eating crow if that, unfortunately, is true.
  20. I'll wait for a diagnosis on Cutler's knee before passing judgement. Easy to make remarks from the couch out of anger.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 23, 2011 -> 05:16 PM) Knox got tackled on that last play...probably would have been called on Tim Jennings. Yikes. Saw the replay. Pretty obscene.
  22. WTF kind of call was that on 3rd and 3? Are you F'N serious? What a joke!
  23. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 23, 2011 -> 05:06 PM) Well Hester hasnt really had many great chances today. The Packers punter is the first guy I've seen in awhile to actually consistently punt the ball to the boundaries. He is the Packers MVP today
