I dunno man. If you want to be fair to the kid, it would probably be easier on Cotts if he came out of the pen for awhile. There is a lot of pressure on a young kid like him, with starting games. Well if you are going to send him to the bullpen you might as well send him back to AA or AAA. We already have 3 lefties in the pen (Wunsch, SchowHawk, Marte) which would mean his outings would be few and far between. Where as in Charlotte or Birmingham he'd start every 5 days. I also don't think Cotts in the bullpen would be a good idea because out of the pen you want guys to be able to throw strikes first off. As a starter you have opportunities to work around your walks, and as a reliever with inherited runners you can't afford to give up the free pass.

no really though.. we been doin the sac flies.. stealin bases... and hittin em over and knockin em in...well for the most part anyhow..........instead of hittin for all the fences...... If I remember correctly I was right on saturday night when you were preaching the same crap. You buttoned up as the night went on. To be clear, I have been a season ticket holder for several years, i am very hard on the sox because I like them. I am a baseball nut as I watch many games, what I know is the guy is to young right now and unproven. I hope he does well, but he will struggle, therefore we will need alot of runs, and some good DP's. After that I am sure hte Sox won't continue to chance the season on an unproven AA pitcher during a pennant run. Now that may be negative but I believe it to be the truth. I hope he does very well and turns into harden or Zito in a few years. I'm pretty sure I did no preaching during that game, I remained perfectly neutral throughout the entire game. I just think you shouldn't be such a negative person, we've already got good old roman for that.

I think you are right on every account, I just wish we had won this one so we don't have the Major League Debut coming after a loss. It puts some added pressure on Cottsy.

Heath Phillips got the win and Rick Hummel got the save. Phillips pitched 6 innings of 4 hit ball.

We got a couple of favorable calls as well. Especially that one ball 4 call against Crede early in the game, where the pitch was clearly right over the plate and above the knees.

I do think Schow will get his act together, but now it's going to be tough for Manuel to get his confidence back in him.

You're right Burke has done great, too bad he's going to be sent down tommorow. I'm not mad anymore! Time to move on guys
