  1. Home team playoff Winning% NFL 64.7% NBA 64.5% NHL 55.3% MLB 54.2% https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/a-home-playoff-game-is-a-big-advantage-unless-you-play-hockey/ I think there are times Home Field makes a difference. For example, my HS English teacher - she believed and would always tell the story of how the energy of the crowd gave Scotty Pods the adrenaline rush to hit that HR. But it rarely makes the difference in deciding a series, IMO.
  2. If TA got injured aggravating his soreness running the bases after professional MLB trainers recommended a day off, you’d be here pouting about TLR in 50+ posts - which you already do in every gamethread anyway.
  3. Not worried in the slightest. Punting games is a luxury you have when the best pitcher in baseball is on the mound for the rubber match.
  4. Ruiz has established himself above that Burr/Foster group. The 13 playoff pitchers look pretty clear-cut: 5 starters, Hendriks/Kimbrel, Kopech/Tepera, Crochet/Bummer, & Lopez/Ruiz. I am worried about Evan Marshall taking Reynaldo’s or Ruiz’s spot.
  5. The rays in the fishtank have more informed gameday threads on their message board.
  6. - A meatball who’s never been involved in Major League Baseball
  7. Yes, Buffalo Quarterback carved them up. 31-6 at halftime.
  8. 28-0. This Buffalo quarterback looks like a Hall of Famer - you see him turn a 10 yd sack into a 1st down run that drive?!
  9. Who’s this quarterback for Buffalo? Bills are steamrolling.
  10. Yes, this is by far the most logical scenario. There’s probably something we don’t know publicly. They’re not going to just keep giving TA off days and bypassing off days for others for funzies.
  11. Great uniforms by Tampa. Always thought the Devil Rays logo and branding were super cool and way better than the Rays.
  12. Kimbrel has a 5.40 ERA. He’ll turn it around, but the other relievers are pitching as good or better to this point.
  13. Yet he spams every game thread with 50+ posts calling the manager names and bragging that his brain is so much bigger.
  14. Just counted up the posts. Majority wanted Kimbrel pulled at that exact hitter (announcers also called it beforehand). Majority called for Cruz’s walk (Jason also agreed with the decision citing splits).
  15. Kimbrel is 33 and should know better. Hope he apologizes to Tony.
  16. Fabulous insight by Gordon Beckham on how Vaughn rounded third. If this ends up a 1-run loss, a small thing like that is game.
  17. 25 innings in and Reynaldo Lopez has taken the MLB by storm with a 1.08 ERA in 25 innings. Kenny Williams, Rick Hahn, & Tony La Russa have to be through the roof with this unexpected windfall. What a time to be a Reynaldo Lopez stan. #SummerofReynaldo
  18. Yes, George owns Windy City Limousine. He also has a Windy City Limousine patch on the back neck of his M&M’s jacket.
  19. Exactly! I mentioned this as my theory for why he swapped seats this season in a game thread a few weeks ago too!
  20. Yes, it’s the suite level overlooking RF. The buffet is about 25% of what it was with normal Scout Seats. It’s not worth the money this year. This year, you enter the ballpark normally (as opposed to that exclusive Scout Seat quick entrance at ground level) and take an elevator down behind home plate-ish to get your wristband, except that elevator takes forever. After you get your wristband, you take an elevator all the way up to access the RF suites.
  21. Do not do Scout Seats this season. Wait till next year. The appeal of Scout Seats is the beautiful, massive lounge with all that food, clean washrooms, bar, etc. That lounge is closed this season as MLB forced the Sox to use it as a visitor’s locker room. It’ll reopen next year. So instead you are redirected to the RF club lounge if you want to eat, where the food is a fraction of what it was under normal Scout Seats. Another thing that made normal Scout Seats great was the employees (the guy who looked like Bernie Mac was a staple - I sadly haven’t seen him anywhere this year, hope he’s still with the Sox) and sometimes former players would be there too (Minnie, Frank, etc).
  22. I voted Reynaldo Lopez. While all the attention has been on Hendriks and Kimbrel, Lopez has teamed up with Kopech to be the aces of the bullpen. Reynaldo and Kopech are the two standard bearers Hendriks and Kimbrel are trying to keep up with.
