quade don't twist things to fit your argument.... you want to compare something then do it equally... How about an American player being introduced to a guitar solo. I don't think they would be offended at all. As for the hot dog at the drive in reference...I don't know where the hell that fits in. And a eating noise after a pitcher makes an out....and a burp??? that is American??? As Hawk would say......STRETCH......STRETCH. -
All I can say is JimH.

Yes and the double standard is even in your post... when referring to Italian's, Polish and white people being called names, you actually use the names, Dago, pollacks, and crackers... When referring to blacks or asians you say n-word, c-word, g-word. It's like thsoe words can't even be written....even if it isn't in a derogatory way. I'm not knocking you moreCowbell, that is the way it is. As an Italian, I'm not suppose to be be offended by Dago or Wop. Some ethnicities can pull the race card and some can't. -
I wasnt too impressed. It had some funny parts, but not typical Will Ferell funny. I was expecting more. Here were some lines from the movie that Ebert thought were particular good enough to use in his review...(http://12.36.78.101/output/ebert1/wkp-news-anchorman09f.html) "I have many very important leather-bound books, and my apartment smells of rich mahogany." reagrding women...."I read somewhere," one of them ominously warns, "that their periods attract bears." A cologne that smells, the newsroom agrees, "like the time the raccoon got in the copier." After reading the review...and seeing that these were the lines the movie had to offer...I started thinking it wouldn't be as good as I thought. I thought it was just an ok movie. It had some funny parts...some cool cameos, but nothing special.

Sorry quade36, wasn't referring to you specifically. I just think the politically incorrect crowd is really starting to go to far. Even the Godzilla thing you said....It wouldn't be racist at all. Godzilla is a Japanese Movie monster legend....If they wanted to do a thing with shingo and godzilla...how would it be racist? It is a monster created by the Japanese... The word racist is tossed around too much.... -

hmm...how do I put this politically correct......The political correct crowd can kiss my ass. . A gong?? A f***in gong?? It is a japanese musical instrument. Shingo is Japanese. What you find so sad above is something you are guilty of perpetuating. You think a gong to a japanese guy is racist, but bagpipes to a scottish guy isn't or Irish music to an O'Malley isn't. If in your mind the one is racist then the others should be too...just because their white shouldn't make a difference. If you think playing the music from one's background is wrong then it should be wrong for people from all backgrounds. The simple fact is none of it is racist...and when you look at it from an Irish or Scottish perspective you see how ridiculous the accusatoin is in the first place. -
It was a great catch. Go watch the replay....It was one of the tougher catches I have seen this year. It's not like he was able to camp under it and just jump straight up....He was running full speed and jumped up and out. Whether it was gonna be out of the park (I thought it was) is debatable...either way it most likely saved us a run. Jesus qwerty give credit where credit is do. I don't like Carlos' showboating either. If he is POSITIVE it is gone then fine, but if he's not sure...then run your ass off. It could be the difference between a double or a triple. Either way..all that s*** aside, that was a spectacular catch. Great game yesterday good crowd. I was at patio party and then our seats were section 106. Not too shabby. Afterwards we went down to the bullpen bar where an annoying cub fan, in full out cub gear, was starting s***. All he kept saying was "sell out your park" "come talk to me when you sell out your park" getting all up in everyones face with this cocky attitude. I was trying to explain to this moron that selling out your park and watching sam"me" hit a few homeruns does not equate to a world series. Anyway he kept getting loud and up in peoples faces. I think he knew things were escalating and finally left the place to a chorus of "8 GAMES BACK" "8 GAMES BACK" "8 GAMES BACK" hahaha I love it.
-
Is there such a thing? Is there a point where you kinda feel like it's not your team anymore and you just bought yourself a world series. Does that even matter to you or do ya just say f*** it...whatever it takes? Just curious on people's opinion?
-
I think all laws like that are for 16 or younger. You're all growed up now son....welcome to the real world where nobody gives a s*** about your sleep or lack there of.

Can anyone find the voting totals?? I read that he said Pedro was "next in line" so he was first to be asked. Well, Pedro already had plans so then he asked Vasquez. I'm wondering if he when he says "next in line" is going by voters list or his own list?

Last Sunday I went golfing at 6:15 AM...so I was up at 5:15....UGGGHHH
-
Thanks southside....you're making same point I tried to make earlier....but I gave up... Haven't gotten a real answer yet
-
Steff you are looking at things pretty rational. You do know that's a sign of old age?
-
Here's a stretch...if you dont want the opposing teams home run ball...then dont try and catch it. Seems pretty simple to me. I mean you clearly don't want it if you're going to throw it back...so why go after it? The fact that they do it up North is even more of a reason to keep it out of the cell.
-
I love it when you get authoritative...It must be the bridgeport in ya.
-
This is a total crock....Vasquez and Buehrle have almost identical numbers....Torre knows he has f***in 7 yanks already in it....and he takes another one.... Maybe it's time to stop that s*** as well. Managers picking the reserves.
-
Jesus haven't we done this before.... If you want to be an asshole and throw the ball back on the field instead of just giving it to a kid, then you deserve to get the boot. I say $250.00 fine for throwing it and if it hits a player, whether on a fly or a bounce, then you go to jail for assault. Take up some of your valuable time, just as you took up every other fans at the game cause you threw the ball back. It's such a stupid thing to do...the run still counts
