  1. Happy Thanksgiving!! Enjoy the Tryptophan!!
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 25, 2008 -> 10:09 AM) I always thought the way Almaeda went out was odd, because it just happened so lamely, and for that to happen in such a manner for one of the shows biggest characters, something seemed fishy. I can't f***ing wait... even if it means another Cubs fan is alive again! Yep and then as Balta referenced above, they never did the silent clock for him...people were up in arms about that....now we know why.

  5. BTW good to have a Republican in the White House, even if it's on 24.

  7. So after being a fan for 35 years, I finally invested in an authentic jersey and the dude is traded. I'll let all of you debate the P&C's of the trade, I'm just gonna say it sucks for my own personal rationale.
  8. Thanks everyone. Yes she getes her good looks from her mother. Our other daughter is 2 1/2 and she is excited about the new addition, but there is definitely going to be an adjustment period. Michela is pronounced the same as Michaela, or Mikayla. Michela is the Italian spelling.
  9. Michela Bella was born Nov 10th, 1:23, 7lbs 4oz, 19in.
  10. An attorney was screwing around with another attorney, he's a big time Obama supporter, so she bought a McCain and Palin cut out and decorated his office with all Republican stuff on election day. It killed her to buy them and give money to the RNC, but she did it for the prank. She sent an email saying he was a closet repub. He almost had a heart attack when he walked in his office door. I saw Palin back when she first bought her and told her you need to let me have my way with her!!!! Anyway she surprised me and put her in my office on Friday for my birthday. She said I can borrow her for a day if I return her in the same condition as I received her. I told her that was impossible as she would never be the same after being with me. I also almost had a heart attack when I walked in my office and saw her...
  11. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 02:16 PM) I am, that's why I tried to bring some humor into it. Basically to argue with people here...some who I consider friends and others who I consider FBWSA, over the governor of fricken Alaska's intelligence, is not something I'm interested in pursuing. Unless of course she invited me to spend a weekend with her in the hot springs of Alaska, in which case I would defend her til death for fulfilling my hot librarian/school teacher fantasy. Alaska hot springs here I come.
  12. QUOTE (Steff @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 05:51 PM) Which reminds me... I haven't gotten any new pics of Gia lately and IIRC she was getting a new friend this month...??? Baby sister is coming Monday!!! Sleepless nights ahead.
  13. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 02:23 PM) What does FBWSA mean? Friends By White Sox Association
  14. QUOTE (Steff @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 01:55 PM) Suck it up. You weren't called either. I am, that's why I tried to bring some humor into it. Basically to argue with people here...some who I consider friends and others who I consider FBWSA, over the governor of fricken Alaska's intelligence, is not something I'm interested in pursuing. 15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 01:10 PM) How do those people get INTO college? And not just some podunk CC, but a state flagship school? First, I'm a love sick puppy and now I'm some podunk.
  16. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 12:03 PM) I don't think she could've gone wrong if she said she read TIME, either. Even if it was a lie, it wasn't like Couric would've done something like "oh, so you must know about such and such an article, then..." It's Katie Couric, she's a softballer. No but the digging would have ensued and they would have found she doesn't subscribe to Time. Then the interviews with the cashier at the Wasilla shop and save would have concluded she never buys Time there, only the National Enquirer and US Magazine.... BTW, love that AHB is now quoting Fox News....
  17. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 11:37 AM) She could have just said, I try to read the Anchorage paper every day. And I look at other papers when I get the chance. I'm not even her and I could easily make some crap up that nobody's going to really catch. I agree...the easiest thing would have been to say I read the "Alaska paper" and I also read various papers online when I get a chance.
  18. QUOTE (The Critic @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 10:36 AM) She was asked several times to name one specific publication she reads and she refused to name one. I don't believe she couldn't name one, I think she was afraid to "set herself up" for some sort of scrutiny by naming one, but it made her look really stupid and/or paranoid. I agree with this sentence 100%, including the part about it making her look stupid. That's totally different from saying she "couldn't" name one, that's all my point is. Of course she could, but I'm sure she was thrown off a little like...wtf are you asking me what paper I read for? Then she's thinking, this is a trap question, if I say the Wasilla Times or something, I'll get ridiucled, but if I lie I'll get ridiculed. Her answers have consequences and she wasn't up to snuff on how to BS your way through a question yet. The question was specifically made to get her to say she doesn't read the NYT, WSJ or any main stream papers and she blew it and looked dumb. I agree with that, but that is different from acting like she is mentally incapable of forming the words to say what paper she reads. If any of us walked by her on the street 6 months ago and asked her what paper she read, I'm sure she would have answered in an instant. That's all I'm saying...
  19. QUOTE (Steff @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 10:18 PM) That could be true. A response from Palin would be nice. Even something from McCain would be also. This stuff makes him look like a moron as well. But... this is a woman that couldn't name a newspaper she read on a daily basis. Nothing would surprise me. It's more complicated than that, but if you really believe that she couldn't name the newspaper she reads then so be it.
  20. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 05:57 AM) Top 20 posters by post count: Indiana Illinois California Texas California Australia Iowa Illinois Kentucky Illinois Illinois Illinois Illinois North Dakota Indiana Michigan Illinois Texas Illinois Illinois That's only 45%. This argument is dumber than the first one. Let it go people.
  21. Movies that always get me are ones that involve some realtionship with children and parents. The Champ was a big one, but it doesn't even have to be a sad part for me. Hell, I got choked up at the end of Armageddon, when the little boy ran to his dad when he got off the shuttle.
  22. Congrats to those of you who this meant so much to.
  23. QUOTE (longshot7 @ Nov 5, 2008 -> 03:17 AM) Which goes out the window when people are tempted with what they really want. Winning is everything. All's fair. This is a messed up opinion and one that I don't think is shared by many others.
  24. Imagine if these were skinheads in neo-nazi attire with one wielding a billy club. That would be decried as voter intimidation of the absolute worst kind. I agree with Tex that Obama would condem this, the amazing thing is, some on here can't.
  25. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 01:54 PM) What was the report? That some dude was hanging out outside a polling place with a billy club? Seems like the po-po should have acted there. Seems like voter intimidation to me, if that's what happend (IF). Id get you a "real" news source since Fox doesn't count, but CNN isn't reporting on it. CNN Caller: Where's Your Report On Black Panther Voter Intimidation in Philly? By Noel Sheppard (Bio | Archive) November 4, 2008 - 13:33 ET A man called in to CNN's Helpline on Tuesday wondering why the network hasn't reported the Black Panthers who were seen standing in front of a Philadelphia polling station this morning, one of them carrying a billy club. According to the caller (audio available here), he was going to vote for Obama until a friend told him about this incident. The caller said, "Now Fox has broadcast this, and I want to know why CNN has not broadcast this yet." Adding to the story, a group representing Election Journal just posted a video at YouTube of Black Panthers in front of a polling station at 1221 Fairmount in Philadelphia (video embedded below the fold): Scary stuff to say the least...but will media report it? Stay tuned.
