  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 04:20 PM) Ya Rescue Me has been awesome this season. I just like Dennis Leary. IMO, Best show on TV
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 08:15 AM) Bad thread! Wicked sig Steve!
  3. QUOTE (brendol @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 12:38 PM) I guess it's not the fact that he is a homer, it's the fact that i find him obnoxious and stupid while being an extreme homer. "In my 50 years in this game, i have never seen a shortstop play that close to the line in a double play situation." *Soto hits a grounder right to Alexei and grounds into the double play. Hawk goes silent. "Shaq takes more abuse than any other athlete." Really hawk? Even more than Barry Sanders did? Even more than ANY running back? Good one hawk... "He cant hit a breaking ball, but-" "WELL WHO CAN?" That's just obnoxious. No need to interrupt stoney because he threatens you with his superior knowledge. I guess it's just my opinion. It seems like most people on here like him, i just find him a bit annoying. If ya don't like him that's cool, you're definitely not alone, but when ya hear a person talk all the time you're gonna find some inaccuracies and exaggerations. It just comes with the job of talking every day. I'm sure he didn't go through his mental rolodex of every athlete when he made the Shaq comment, nor do i think he needs to, he's just speaking off the cuff. Hell, you have what like 14 or so posts and you came up with this one. "yeah, id like him to stay at 3b. his build is similar to adrian beltre, so there is hope that he can be a good fielder." If I were to take your critical approach I can say.... Really brendol?? How the hell does having a build similar to adrian beltre help one become a good fielder? Aren't their millions of people with Beltre's build?? Body shape gives you hope?? Good one brendol....
  4. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 07:40 AM) If it had been that simple, this would have never gone to court. There are a series of federal laws that a city has to navigate to hire and promote people. Basically, in this case, the city decided that the only way to not discriminate in some way is to promote nobody. I was just responding to the statement "Activist judges making new law over decades of precedent!"
  5. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 10:05 AM) Activist judges making new law over decades of precedent! Oh wait, its a Democratic administration now? Sorry, I forgot for a second. Wholly appropriate decision to overturn every other court's decision in this case - and paring down liberal reverse racist discrimination policy! I thought the law said "No individual should face workplace discrimination based on race."
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 1, 2009 -> 07:34 PM) Did that catch just cost Anderson a minor league option? pretty routine catch...dweezy just jumped for it
  7. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 27, 2009 -> 01:41 PM) Pods wife isnt in the poll, his wife is Lisa Dergan, not Erin Andrews He's talking about the old poll I posted a link to.
  8. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 27, 2009 -> 01:02 PM) Poor white males. Always getting s*** on. Especially if we're talking about white dyslexic males...
  9. Here's an old poll... But everyone is missing the little known Molly Qerim
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 20, 2009 -> 05:45 PM) That's what happens when the economy drops precipitously. Either the Feds step in and make up the difference, which we were told was a bad, fiscally irresponsible thing to do in the stimulus debate, or states have to come up with some combination of tax increases and spending cutbacks to make up the difference. How bout we just take out the fricken trash. http://www.myfoxchicago.com/dpp/news/inves..._workers_asleep
  11. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 21, 2009 -> 11:26 AM) Quick give us an update. I can't eat or sleep I am so giddy with anticipation He's anxious to find out as well. Talked to him last night...and he told him good things about Chicago. JP said he wanted to sleep on it and talk it over with his family.
  12. Is playing loud music and using bright lights torture?
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 3, 2009 -> 01:36 PM) I don't think they'll call it for only being cold. It's going to have to be rainy or snowy as well. The temps on Tuesday won't be much better, so if it's 35 degrees on Monday, so be it. Play ball. I agree....I can't see them moving it. If it was another game fine...but this is opening day....Ya can't just pull the old switcheroo.
  14. Has anyone heard this? I saw somebody post something that they hope the Sox make up their minds on when they're going to have it Mon or Tues? I can't find any info anywhere, so I'm guessing there isn't much to it, but wanted to check with the peeps here in the know.
  15. QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 11:33 AM) He might raises taxes on everyone in the ballpark though LOL might???
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 19, 2009 -> 12:51 PM) Well, yeah. The problem is the issues of race that affect people are subtle, and, ala wizard of oz, we keep our eyes on the big green floating heads, argue about the stuff that is only real for a very small number of extreme cases, and become embarrassed to talk about how who we are affects us in America. In Columbia, a number of bars have dress codes clearly targeting blacks, and while there has been a few mag. articles on it, it just kind of gets swept up as a disturbing anecdote. You can be black, as long as you are our kind of black That's the liberal calling card.....and there have been no mag. articles on it....Weird.
  17. QUOTE (maggliopipe @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 02:12 PM) My biggest conundrum is what to do when doing carryout. There is a fair amount of work that goes into taking the order, placing it, and wrapping it all up with the extras, etc. I still wouldn't have ever thought of tipping if I wasn't compelled to by the tip line when signing my credit card slip. I do 10% but I get s*** from the wife everytime. What's the proper etiquette here? hmmm...I've never tipped for carryout. I figured the tip line is there because they use the same system for all their orders in or out.
  18. QUOTE (YASNY @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 01:47 PM) I don't mind tipping waiters and waitresses. In fact, for just average service I will tip at least 20% and round up. However, I don't want to tip someone handing me a paper towel to dry my hands with in the men's room like I have encountered in some places in Chicago. I'm perfectly capable of getting my own paper towels. I pretty much tip 20% all the time. Even if I've been like where the f*** is the waiter/waitress or something during dinner....when the check comes I still always give the same. I agree with the paper towel thing too....it's just a F-up situation because they take all the towels so you have to take theirs....then it's like I'm supposed to give you something...It's like you're being strong armed and then when I'm on my 5th piss of the night, I feel bad and end up giving them a buck. The thing I hate doing, but I always do anyway is tip the bartender when they get me a beer. You're f***in back there behind the bar to serve drinks...you turned around pulled a beer out of a cooler and handed it to me...here's your money and dollar tip.
