  1. i just reread my reply... I didn't bash this guy enough. He could hardly compete on the college level in the big 12. He was probably the 4th option on a mediocre Iowa State team. He has no business being on an NBA court, unless he's going to be the guy operating those t-shirt launchers.
  2. The reports I've seen is that the Chiefs would take thier sweet time deciding whether to make a matching offer. That probably means this deal would have to wait for a week. Until all the numbers get crunched.
  3. DW has his second 1-2-3 inning after the rockies announcers call him a bigger dissapointment last season than Billy Koch.
  4. Wright and Garland are batting .1000 I wonder if they can play second.
  5. That is probably the more likely answer. On you car scenario. If you negociate a deal to buy a car at one dealership for 20k. Then leave and find a better deal at a competing dealer. Are you required to go back to the original dealer to try and work out a better deal. No not if you're comfortable with your current arrangement. NO deal is final until it is OKed by the league. The Niners may not look all that great to the rest of the league. But how can you when dealing with TO? My guess is that every team but the Iggles are secretly laughing at TO and his whiny ass. TO is an agitator, and trying to appease him is a tall task. Even if he was shipped to philly it wouldn't have been long until he was complaining about the offense.
  6. Yes I read the article. Some suburban philly rag. There is no obligation on the niners part to have to make a call back to the Eagles. It would have been smart if they wanted to extract more in return from either team. But that's obviosly not what they wanted. They didn't was TO to be in the NFC. Complaining that they were never called back is sour grapes. The phone works both ways. If they wanted him so badly they should have been hounding the niners, not giving TO's agent blue balls while thinking of the commision check he was going to get, even though he forgot to send in the required papers to make him a FA.
  7. I thought this deserved it own topic... I watched Dashboard confessional cover this album last night on the music channels music channel. I had forgotten how great this album is. I dug it out. Dusted it off, and am rawking out right now... 8. They played a good game... I was surprised to see them running a match-up zone in the first half. That's a complicated defense. I know Leito(sp) has connections to Conneticut, but i don't ever recall UConn running a zone defense with man-to-man principles. The match-up zone kept 'em in the game 'til that run late, though they never used it in the second half.
  9. If I'm not mistaken I believe that CC actually has a stake in those sattelite radio stations. There is, however, premium channels on those services that could be used for more of a "free" speech platform. Ironic that you have to pay to hear "free speech".
  10. If the Iggles wanted TO, they should have sweetened the pot to the Niners, not to TO(by offering him an exorbitant contract). The Niners were ultimately the team with the most power in the situation, proved by the fact that TO is indeed a bird, but a Raven. The Iggles whining is just sour grapes.
  11. Look at it from the Niners perspective. They were offered a 5th and James thrash, who proved he can't catch in the NFC title game. That fifth pick is nearly in the 6th round because philly was in the NFC title game. Or they can get a 2nd rounder and TO is in the AFC. Doesn't seem like much of a descision to me. TO's got no case... Someone should break his jaw so I don't have to listen to him whine all year about this.
  12. What is this arm injury you speak of?
  13. I just read this thread... I has no idea the bulls signed Paul Shirley... I went to ISU back in the day. I was friends with Shirley at the time. He left the team for awhile while I was there. I'm going to look for some pics (I'm sure I have some very comprimising ones) this weekend of us in all our glory back in the day. I'll post 'em here. I'm 6'0" weigh 155. not exactly what you would call buff. I'm a skinny guy. I remember Shirley being not that much thicker than I. Surely not properly suited to play in the NBA. If he's bulked up, I wouldn't be surprised if he was using the same trainer as Bonds.
  14. shock and Awe. We were in Shock and Awe.... :fyou Shock and Awe. Pre-empting my NCAA tourney watching binge.
  15. It appears that way... JohnDyce looks to be the final member to sign up... I know i've seen hom post a couple of times in the past.
  16. Last year was some day... I ended up in a box, the three hour rain delay only meant that we had drained the entire suite of alchohol twice before the game started. Of course we had more than twice the actual box suite capacity in there by that time. I spent most of the rain delay sitting on a garbage can. Great memories... Crede's blast first victory of the year.. I would have been miserable outside, though I was prepared.
  17. No that was the nex play.... Game over stanford wins by 2
  18. Stanford sunk a three at the buzzer.... he was getting mugged to.
  19. I think we all believe he broke the hand. But, the circumstances surrounding that broken hand, are highly questionable. I've heard reports that it was broken on a window/door at a nightclub. Are you arguing that TJ's ability to have freak injuries and illnesses should be considered an asset? I would say he's oft injured and That's just stupid right there.... when I saw that all the Niners only recieved a 2nd round pick, from a playoff team, for TO, the market had been set. TO is without question one of the top few WR's in the game, and he only garnered his team a late second round pick... To think that the A-train, as talented as he is, would garner simillar compensation for the Bears is asinine. He broke a 20+ yard run 1 in every 35 times he touched the ball last year. That is more times in less carries then Priest Holmes. He may not have the best "speed",(but that's a stat), but he has proven to be a difficult guy to bring down. That makes him a break away threat, that's a proven fact. There were 146 back who carried the ball at least one time last season. Here is a list of the backs who were better "break away" threats than the train last season. Jamal Lewis Ahman Green Duece McCallister Clinton Portis Ladanian Tomlinson Stephen Davis Warrick Dunn Brian Westbrook That's 8 of 146, I'd say that puts the Train as a brak away threat. Even if you say there is only 32 team so there is only 32 "starting" backs, that would mean that the train was better than 24 other starters. Some names that didn't make the cut. Ricky Williams Edgerin James Priest Holmes Marshall Faulk Do you believe TJ is a bigger threat to break off big chunks of yardage because he is faster?? Because that is a stat. He also has PROVED, in those 4 years of service, that he, IN FACT, doesn't. Last season he broke away twice in a career high 138 carries. He also put the ball on the carpet 4 times in those 138 carries compared to Train's just one in 244 carries. On his carrer the Train fumbles once every 105 carries. Over that same period, TJ has fumbled 2 more times than the Train, on half the carries, or 1 in every 43 carries. Over his entire carrer, the ratio is even worse, 1 in every 38 carries. So TJ, who's break away abilty has yielded him 1 20+yd. carry in every 83 touches, fumbling at a 1 in every 43 carries, is half as likely to actually break a big run as the Train, while simultaneosly putting the ball in the opponets paws more than twice as often is obviously a better fit for our offense. Which apparently wont be on the field much. There is a reason that TJ hasn't recieved a bulk of the carries anywhere he's been. You can say he has been on losing teams, but maybe he is actually the reason for the losing. I'm sorry I clutter up this response with more useless stats that you will no doubt claim as decieving again. But they are facts, and hard to dispute. I'll take a proven back, who doesn't turn it over, can break big runs, and has proven he can handle the workload that comes with an NFL season, over one who's done none of those things, even if he is 9 months younger.
