The Central sure sucks.  Sox have a chance.

Would be cool to expose the ten Central teams with all finishing under .500. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to eliminate the leagues and or return to the division heavy schedule to create an illusion of six or eight "quality" division winners, plus "quality" wild card teams.

MLB Standings - Records vs. under .500 teams:

    • AL East: 1 Tampa Bay 17-2; 2 Baltimore 15-4; 3 New York 14-4; 4T Toronto 11-7; 4T Boston 11-7
    • AL Central: 1 Minnesota 15-10; 2 Detroit 10-7; 3 Chicago 10-9; 4 Kansas City 8-8; 5 Cleveland 12-13
    • AL West: 1 Texas 19-9; 2 Los Angeles 15-7; 3 Seattle 15-10; 4 Houston 14-11; 5 Oakland 4-11
    • NL East: 1 Atlanta 16-6; 2 Miami 15-9; 3 Philadelphia 15-11; 4 Washington 10-7; 5 New York 15-14
    • NL Central: 1 Pittsburgh 16-9; 2 Milwaukee 16-12; 3 Chicago 11-10; 4 Saint Louis 7-95 Cincinnati 9-12
    • NL West: 1 Los Angeles 20-8; 2 Arizona 15-10; 3 San Diego 8-7; 4 San Francisco 10-10; 5 Colorado 11-16

MLB Standings - Records vs. over .500 teams:

    • AL Central: 1 Minnesota 10-122 Cleveland 8-133 Detroit 10-174 Chicago 9-205 Kansas City 6-26

Sun-Time story said he was seen with his right hand in a brace. No other details as to how it happened or what caused it or if he was dealing with this for awhile.

James Fegan is the one White Sox reporter worth following.

  3. Feeling better about Colas’ Charlotte stint after reading this about Frazier:

Colas also should be a much better fielder than he showed in April, hope he is working on that as well. Would like to see Colas called up and stay successfully once he is ready to succeed playing 6 games a week up here.

    • Thanks 1

Well they'll be down a starting pitcher for a game or two at least. We'll see how Grifol does with an "opener" since the Sox don't have any depth in this area. Thanks Rick!

I’ve only followed four of five games this season. Grateful I can now listen to every game the next few weeks, don’t care if there is a drop off in performance for the rotation slot.

    • First White Sox Sweep of the Season!
    • Seven White Sox Hitters with hits.
    • Quality Start for Lynn, second White Sox save for Joe Kelly
    • Three more shutout innings from the bullpen. The Bullpen scoreless streak now at 20 Innings!

A Perfect Day for the Three Peat!!!

Gaddis/TBD Cease/LT Allen Kopech/Quantrill the pitching matchups for next series.

Hurts to see Dunning at 4-0 and a 1.69 ERA in the box score right next to Sox/TBD tmrw.

At least we haven't invested $200 million into Abreu and Anderson...

The flip side is nothing of value in terms of talent coming into the organization for those previously valuable assets.

White Sox up 4-2, Bottom 7th, 2 on, 2 out.

EDIT: White Sox up 5-2, same situation.

  6. Jerry provides the budget. Hahn has had more than enough money the past three seasons to execute a solid plan and acquire legitimate starters at 2B and RF. He has failed at his task.

Jerry opened up his coin purse larger than expected to support his BFF manager the past two seasons. The purse is now closed. Expect payroll to drop further the next two seasons, perhaps under $100M with Hahn rebuild 2.0, unless there is a miraculous on field turn around and Sox are solid playoff contenders the next two years to avoid a substantial sell off.

The money has been spent, poorly.
