    This works, though I'm really here the past week because of the streak and will returning to hiatus until Hahn / Jerry or gone or they go on another tragic run. Stayed away the offseason and first few weeks as I stopped watching or following. This current stretch is hopefully once in a lifetime for Sox fans.

    Call me when this team paid hack rips Reinsdorf and Hahn for being far more incompetent and indifferent with trying to win Sox baseball games.

    This is the same assclown bitched about Renteria daily and kissed Tony La Russa’s ass for most of two seasons. He is a hand puppet there to spew Reinsdorf Hahn talking points, nothing more or less. He is TV Bob Nightengale.

    If you are purposely tanking like the Sox organization appears to be since October 2022, then it starts to make a little more sense.

    I’m fine letting younger players get most of the time at this point beyond showcasing the dozen or so pieces you want to move June-July.

    Knock the payroll under $100M over the next 3-4 years, it’s not like this organization can compete, whether they want to or not.

    The mistake here was releasing the statement that Robert was pulled as a managerial decision. Throwing a player under the proverbial bus - publicly - almost always turns out badly especially on a team playing as poorly as the Sox. Say he was pulled as a precaution and deal with the issue in the clubhouse.

    This. Sox FO and ownership go out of their way to throw players under the bus and to scream to the World they are the smartest. Whoever fed that to Merkin to print needs to STFU the same as whoever ratted Robert out to Grifol and what’s his name coach.

    Also, while it’s true the Royals also suck, as an organization Dayton Moore built at least for a few years a winning model far superior to anything Hahn has built or can build. Compared to the Royals, the Sox are a step down in terms of competence and ability as an organization.

    This. Sure the Sox have and can continue to get a significant portion of their revenue from the National TV contract and also MLB.com.

    That said Reinsdorf also owns 50% (25 Sox and Bulls) of the current local sportschannel. They are likely going to also sell the half which is Sox related to the next owner if it’s not staying within the Reinsdorf family.

    They are not going to also keep that portion (nor will a new owner want the Sox without ownership of their local broadcast rights). Also, unless the MLB goes to Tokyo, there are no better viable markets than the 33-40% share of Chicago outside of maybe Nashville down the line, which either Baltimore (which is even in worse shape as a city and fan base) or an expansion group will get within the next few years.

    Las Vegas sucks in terms of being a viable MLB market. Oakland is more concerned with getting the entire real estate package (they are getting far more land with at Howard Terminal or Vegas than the ballpark, will make a lot developing and owning these significant plots beyond MLB revenue.

    The appetite and ability of local tax bases to funds these billions in demands have by and large come to an end. There will be no more free stadiums every 20-30 years, the money just isn’t there. It’s why Oakland and Tampa have lingered for far longer than what would have happened in the past.

    if they made him pay attention from day 1. If they emphasized playing smart and what that entailed, if they beat into his brain what was expected of him, he may be a star now. They just gushed at the talent, in wonderment a guy like this was really a White Sox, when it was obvious, despite as much talent as anyone, his game was lacking in a few areas, and let him slide by.

    This season is over. The Sox need to prepare for the future. Send him down. Get him straightened out  in all aspects. Maybe it pays off later. If you just let him be, you are going to have a guy who is unreal for stretches and then just taking it easy for some reason. I doubt they have the balls to do it.

    I agree with most of your takes, and was very upset when I saw the play initially, but after the postgame comments from both Grifol and Robert, I don't think any of us can properly assess what the hell is really going on with this organization.

    I can put together a Baltaesque bullet point narrative how fucked up this team has been in terms of diagnosing, treating and disclosing injuries over the past two plus seasons, including several incomprehensible actions the club took in regards with Robert alone during the second half of 2022.

    Grifol still isn't emersed in the level of absolute horror, incompetence, greed, avarice, hatred, loathing and malice that most of us have come to know and accept as Jerry Reinsdorf's Chicago White Sox Organization.

    As far as knowing Montoya's name, the pathetic White Sox have rolled out three different managers and dozens of coaches and other "professionals" over their self-described "multiyear championship contending window" over the past 60-162-162-28 regular season games. Hard to tell whether any of us would know the dozens of assclowns who have swiped their badge into and out of the clubhouse over this tumultuous period. Hell, most people working at McDonalds or Wal-Mart have a much more stable, compassionate and reasonable working environment.

    I agree with you, the past four managers have done a good job trying to cover for a decade of bad players. Tony seemed to just want to be their grandpa and friend, and consequences only came when one offended "the book", not when they didn't hustle or play smart baseball beyond rookies. Veterans were not held accountable.

    Pedro just walked into this s%*# show, nobody can or should judge him at this point and most likely feel sorry this was his first opportunity.

    Hahn was always the primary issue the past several years, including the  laughable "Executive of the Year" aborted season he keeps bringing up to deflect even mild criticism for his pathetic record as General Manager.

    I was happy for your optimism and really wanted them to win on your Birthday.

    A no-hitter would have been a lifetime memory.  Sadly, this debacle may be as well.
