  1. We really, really, really, really need a Hahn button on here.
  2. That demand never pitching back to back the first three months of the deal. For most, it's a red flag. For Hahn, it's a "throw in another year, like we gave to Leury.".
  3. Wonder if Tony ordered it.
  4. He's 24, the power will increase over time. Most of his peers are in AA/AAA.
  5. Need someone warming up now, preferably Graveman.
  6. I hope Graveman is up if anyone reaches.
  7. I didn't build this roster, you have 7 DHs, a couple can pretend to play LF. Grandal will hit most days, catch 1/3. Eloy is still not healthy, will be lucky if he can play 30-40 more games this season. Vaughn can grind it out, sadly he'll be in RF much of the time.
  8. If he can't catch more than once a series, he's better off DHing the other two than Sheets. I rather have an actual outfielder than Sheets.
  9. You're not legally allowed to extend an employment contract beyond death. Already has a lifetime contract.
  10. Tim, you may now flip.
  11. Pepperidge Farm remembers.
  12. Once the AL reverts to a balanced schedule in 2023, I don't expect an AL Central team to finish over .500 for the remainder of the decade.
  13. Have Lynn berate them for the rest of the game about steak, perhaps beating them both with a frozen slab. Somehow the lack of baseball fundamentals over Tony's two stints with the White Sox have never materialized. #RickyWasWayBetterThanThis
  14. My primary criticism of Grandal was on Hahn, signing for four years (and with no other reported offers) was too long for a catcher in his 30s. Few catchers (5-10%) are able to play regularly once they cross 30, and their production typically suffers a significant drop off. It's hard to see him catch more than 70 games his final two seasons here, which would be slightly below his pace the first two seasons, though that is to be expected at his age. However, it doesn't appear to have been considered in his contract offer. The one area where I think he could have improved on, and perhaps he did, was to take on the game / pitcher prep, having McCann as a mentor in that regard.
  15. There is mixed reporting on this. Jerome Holtzman, "the Dean of Chicago Baseball writers", pegged it on Tony. At one point Hawk claimed responsibility. At this point, it's irrelevant. Tony is fucking up enough stuff plain as day, though the team is still flawed based on the players he has (several of which he stumped for during the offseason(s)).
  16. FTFY Didn't see any Grandal bashing in the thread, only praise of his bounceback offensively since his return.
  17. We really need a Hahn rating button.
  18. They would be up 15 with Antonetti and Chernoff running the FO and minor league development and Jerry's payroll.
  19. Wonder if Tony is going to pull Tim after a 6th or 7th inning at bat to get him a few innings of extra rest before the team charter flight.
  20. No worries, they are living off of their big first half cushion. Oh wait,
  21. Hey Assclown. FA is in October 2024. I'm not basing his prospects, good or bad, on a Summer day game in Colorado.
  22. Sadly, I believe Josh Donaldson nailed it last Summer. Bang the Drum Slowly. Robert Di Nero, Michael Moriarty. Perfect for a Chicago rainy day.
