  1. But did you boo him at any time? The David Wells' incident was a one time moment, I didn't see another game he pitched the rest of the season and he was thankfully gone thereafter. And for all you youngsters out there, the White Sox have been signing old perhaps once good but at the signing shitty players for 40 years under JR. 2. I've said it before, will likely be true on my death bed. Uniformed White Sox I have booed since my first game (1975) Tony La Russa (1984-1986). Our weekend season ticket group of a few rows in 1985 booed him every time he stepped out of the dugout, regardless of the score. David Wells. The team chalked it up to back spasms. We were down the line in the UD, it looked like he was drunk/hungover puking on the mound, which wouldn't have been out of character. Kenny Williams gave him a $9.5M one year contract, and he was absolute horseshit and looked like he was 350 lbs. Five batters faced, 0 outs. Thankfully the Sox came back to win it 7-3 after five shutout innings from Sean Lowe. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHA/CHA200106080.shtml
  3. Alright, let me hear you. Cue me in Nancy!
  4. I remember a different 7th inning stretch when Harry Caray was in the booth, and Nancy Faust on the organ. Better days indeed.
  5. Steve tweets the company line, and tweeted an AJ Managerial Stint would not happen with this team.
  6. Ricky's Boys Don't Quit vs. Tony's Boys Done Quit OPS (Players here the past four years) Abreu .834 .987 .831 .860 Anderson .865 .886 .806 .770 Garcia .688 .758 .711 .494 Engel .687 .811 .832 .669 Jimenez .828 .891 .740 .558 Mendick .787 .664 .589 .786 Moncada .915 .705 .787 .594
  7. He's the only catcher who can, you know, catch the baseball on the roster.
  8. It's likely they both discussed and went with this asinine active roster given the circumstances and options. Still would have brought up Haseley, or tried to acquire a decent 4th/5th OF during the ASB given the fact they suspected or knew Robert was going on the IL.
  9. Seven of nine, with one of the two coming off the bench in Game 1. One manager realizes this is a big weekend series.
  10. There was one player the White Sox could have picked up last month for nothing. Would have brought them a win with his glove alone in Game 1 (and Engel in RF). Healthy, elite speed, great glove and OF arm.
  11. Should have been a clean slate in 2016, bring in a competition GM from the outside, let him bring in a good coaching staff and rebuild the organization, focusing on player development and acquisition. The smart next steps the past two off-seasons were to stop what Hahn was doing, deal veterans for younger players who can contribute now, and fix the RF, 2B and C holes and bring in solid starting pitching. They wouldn't have gotten all the guys I would have targeted, but even half would have been significant upgrades over what the Sox are fielding this season. This team is 15-20 games in first place at this point. Infield: Willson Contreras, Abreu, Gavin Lux, Anderson, Moncada (Bench Y. Gomes, L. Garcia) Outfield & DH: Joey Gallo, Robert, Vaughn (Bench Engel, Luis Gonzalez) DH Sheets Starting Pitching: Giolito, Robbie Ray, Pablo Lopez, Kopech, Tony Gonsolin, Cease Bullpen: Hendriks, Bummer, Crochet, Reynaldo Lopez, Ruiz, Free Agent & Free Agent (Didn't have a final FA list on October 28) Owner: Billionaire willing to win and build a quality organization. President of Baseball Operations / GM: Kim Ng (Kenny stays on to consult for the transition through his contract end) Manager: Bruce Boche or Joe Espada. Staff: Keep Katz, Promote Paddy, replace everyone else.
  12. A little of both. Would start Lopez as the opener. Could be a blessing.
  13. Would be funny if Lynn didn't show up until the 2nd inning, running late from Gene and Georgetti's.
  14. No, they are getting paid. It's the same shit as it has been for the past decade. Besides, Hahn is responsible for this shitshow, Tony is just the cherry on top.
  15. And you have fans here saying don't go after Conforto, Colas will be ready by May 2023.
