  1. Generally I agree late in the season, but see your point. With two regulars out and going with a four man bench vs. three, the flexibility between taking advantage of matchups and rotating 1-2 spots helps.
  2. One spot per game is fine, Collins a game a series, Mendick RF or INF, OF rotation once Engel returns. Pitcher for ? on roster in the interim. Prefer 5-7 runs a game, not 9-9-3, 9-9-2.
  3. Should have pinch hit, glad someone is reading my posts. ?
  4. Bench players need to play, just not all on the same day.
  5. Would like to see Mendick pinch hit for Lamb, play second, shift Vaughn to first and Garcia to LF.
  6. Not getting the previous batter hurt the pitch count, before THAT play.
  7. Highly recommend films by the great Werner Herzog, including Aguirre, Wrath of God. SoxTalk Warning, it’s not a sports film staring former DePaul Forward Mark.
  8. Looked a little windy in LF on that first out. Twins lineup for today: https://mobile.twitter.com/Twins/status/1392867007813406721
  9. Question: is the current capacity, before May 24, the same as Opening Day, or did it increase partially, but not to 60%?
  10. Yes, very nice in Chicago as well, near perfect next few days. Enjoy the day, and the game!
  11. I'm headed to Goose Island for $1 Honker's Ale and a burger. Last time I watched a Sox game there was 2020 Game 1. Hoping for the same results, swapping out Lynn for Giolito in the dominate stud pitching role.
  12. Did the organization "see value" in Nick Williams? No, Tony did. Hahn had to take him away. This is the same thing, except now they don't have the luxury of 1-2 off days per week. They need arms, not Jake Lamb. Grandal can cover 1B fine, Garcia and Mendick 3B. I'm here to talk baseball, others like you hold grudges against those who disagree with baseball discussion. Let it go.
  13. Don't consider any of my posts "freaking out", just stating facts. Batting Lamb 2nd or 5th is ludicrous.
  14. Yes, taking an sick or injured player out makes sense.
  15. I agree, that is why I want a 9 up, they currently have 8, but Kopech starting makes it seven (Crochet's absence made it 6 except for Tuesdays game).
  16. Or fifth, that is where most HOF managers and persons would instinctually bat 2021 Jake Lamb (OPS + 52; .143 BA, .143 SLG). I'm hoping against reality it's a "DFA Getaway" sendoff, a la Nick Williams. Hahn, please take charge, thank you. Tony La Russa is putting my Game Thread duties to the test today, I will not be deterred by his antics.
  17. Yeah, I'd prefer him DFA'd and Grandal, or even Yasmani covering first. Or Lamb batting eighth if he "must" play. Then again, Tony claims he is a "Franchise Type of Guy".
  18. White Sox going for a sweep today. Will likely see the Twins' best starting effort for the series with Pineda on the mound. OK with Abreu DHing for a day after his bumps and bruises.
  19. "Throwing away games" in May? Don't think so. You can floor the gas pedal 162 games, and expect anything in the gas tank come September and October. Baseball is a grind. Can also bring either up, or someone else, as long man to eat the innings you lose with Kopech starting.
