It’s clear in black and white who the child here in this exchange. Hope you work on your rage, and if you ever attack me again you quote actual posts, which are right here and were provided to you, twice.

I was at that game in a skybox, we were laughing our asses off, knowing full well the reference. Frazier and Eaton should meet in an MMA octagon for a White Sox roster spot.

The Ashley Rodon apology thread is the only valid apology thread here.

Damn, the Cubs gave up the lead. Sox will hopefully take care of business here.

I gave you an opportunity to either apologize for lying, quote my post, or just move on. You stated I "claimed Ricky should still be manager". Baby's been lying.
-
The TLR Manager Thread
I simply stated Ricky had a better record with less talent, vs. 2021's team with better run differential, without your cherry picking of this guy or that guy with you BS responses. You continue to lie and make up shit. Go through this thread, where am I stating this? I have multiple responses to you and not once stated this. Quote it or be an adult and apologize, or just move on.

I'm waiting for the Sox to wake up Tony to post starting lineup staring Jake Lamb, will create it soon if he doesn't wake up by 3.

Neither point is true. A single run scored over 32 games is inconsequential. I used total pitching runs allowed, didn't cherry pick a subset of pitchers, which recognizes the entire staff. The starters are clearly better than the 10% runs overall runs allowed reduction. The 2021 bullpen digression, despite the fact they coughed up $18M for Tony's animal shelter pal, is included in what I did in fact recognize by comparing total runs allowed across the entire staff. The bottom line is the overall players, even with Robert and Eloy out and Abreu and Grandal being markedly worse, are overall better year over year, both "on paper" and on the field, through 32 games. And the whole point of paying two managers this season was Tony's Charlie Weiss like "schematic advantage" over Ricky Renteria, Soxtalk's consensus "worst manager in the history of baseball".

Its not just "paper" that the roster is better, performance has improved. Despite the dropoffs you point out, the performance of Yermin (1.005), Vaughn (.712) and others offset Abreu's decline and Eloy's complete absence. The White Sox have scored exactly one less run year over year (165 2020 vs. 164). The improvement is the pitching staff allowing 10% less runs, against better quality opponents (not just the weaker Central division teams) with a decrease in runs allowed from 123 to 111, year over year. This will be even more pronounced in the playoffs assuming everyone is healthy. Keuchel was a weak #2 last year with literally no #3. Ethan Katz' staff vs. Don Cooper's staff, not the year over year changes in the subset of hitters you pointed out, is the primary difference between the 2021 and 2020 teams through 32 games.

When will injured players be back and who will they replace?
The only tough decision is after all three return (Lamb and Hamilton being the first two to go) and if everyone else is healthy and performing. The Sox can still keep everyone with 12 Pitchers / 14 Hitters (Bench: Yermin, Collins, Engel, Mendick and Garcia), the question is will they sacrifice a 13th pitcher if the entire team is healthy. Baseball typically has a way of working itself out. I'm hoping the rosters are increased to 27/28 next season with the new CBA, eliminating taxi squads and allowing adequate hitting and pitching depth.

Renteria had two starters, one worth a damn in the playoffs. No Kopech, Cease and Rodon were not solid, no Lynn. Eloy was on the DL twice and unavailable for the playoffs. Robert and Tim also missed time. Parrot and Mazara were completely worthless. Yoan was recovering from COVID and limited. No .380 hitting Yermin, no Vaughn. Anyone denying the significant talent upgrade between 2020 and 2021 is not paying attention.

Attending Sox Road Games
It's a nice stadium, though cold into June and then after Labour Day. For the new stadiums, thought it was a good one (in my Top 15-20). Definitely worth hitting if tickets are reasonable with COVID pricing. Sat in the lower deck upper portion behind home, similar to Sox in terms of sightlines. The downtown train system drops you off right there, much cleaner than the Red Line to Sox games.

This comment is not pointed at you, but Ricky Renteria had a better record (20-12 after 32 games) with less talent at his disposal, and most here didn’t have the same standards and or provide the grace allotted to La Russa.

We can only speculate in terms of internal decision making, but I am giving Hahn credit for likely having serious conversation(s) with Tony last week when Hahn accompanied the team to Cincinnati. The Lamb LF platoon started the previous week ended. Mendick was brought up and given regular playing time. The starters seem to be better managed with Cease, Rodon and Lucas pulled before going over 100 pitches. Some people assume Tony is getting zero input from Hahn. Hahn may not be interceding at the same level as he did with Ricky, but he wouldn’t waste time traveling with the team if he wasn’t providing input to Tony. Would love to have been in on the discussion(s) after the Cinco de Mistakes 10th inning game.

Addressing the OF shortage (Robert Injury Spinoff)
Roster cuts should be Lamb for Engel, followed by Hamilton for Eloy or Robert. Mendick, Garcia, Engel/Eaton and Collins gives the team the most flexibility once everyone is back. If Yermin is still hitting, then Mendick is likely to go due to Leary’s ability to play all positions defensively, despite the much weaker bat.

Twins series
All divisional games are important. It will be more of a significant challenge than KC's rookie and two overmatched lefties, though confident facing Happ. Maeda has started slow but bounced back his last start at home against Texas. Pineda is going to be a pain in the ass, though thankfully the Sox' hottest starter is slated for the finale. Buxton going down is a major blow, Sox have a chance for a sweep. Still believe Cleveland is the Sox' main rival this year for the division. With the loss of Clevenger, Lindor and Carrasco, they'll will still likely be good with their core pitchers and Ramirez, but likely their ceiling will be capped around 85-88 wins.

Sox sweep KC; winners thread
Nice, thanks. It's a good tradition. Outside of the terrible May 5th game, this has been a very good week (Tuesday - Sunday) all things considered. Positive news for Eloy and Luis injuries. The Sox swept the formerly first place Royals for the second straight series in Kansas City (they swept a four game series last September). Mendick played an adequate RF, and Vaughn has looked very good in LF, giving the team more options this year and beyond. Hopefully Tony will use him more now, he is a better hitter than Leury and entering his peak age. Tony had positive news regarding Engel, and his return will really help the lineup and outfield.

Sox sweep KC; winners thread
I'm still relatively new here, but when did the tradition of creating a second thread after the game thread begin after a White Sox win? I'm not sure what happened on WSI, but I believe there was just one thread for pre game, in game and post game, also archived like it is here. Not sure if a blowout win or loss warrants a lot of discussion, many people turn off an 8-0 game, whether their team is winning or losing. A close game leads to more discussion. Controversial decisions or statements like the "Cinco de Mistakes Game" will blow up the discussion.

The Makings of a Juggernaut?
Did Tony offer it to anyone else first? Are you trying to claim Dave Duncan would not be in the dugout with Tony and his son if he said yes? The only "falsehoods" regarding this entire situation have come from the Chicago White Sox led by Jerry Reinsdorf.

The Makings of a Juggernaut?
Perhaps you could better make use of your time learning reading comprehension rather than posting hot take responses to posts from 1-2 weeks ago. The dysfunction was clearly directed toward the owner and his manager, as I referenced the Wilpons. Two days AFTER my post, the media was reading the MLB rule book to the manager. Hahn had a clear process to conduct his manager search. Dysfunction derailed it. And you're quoting newly injury updated timelines made AFTER my post regarding both Eloy and Robert. 12-16 weeks FROM BASEBALL ACTIVITY, means starting athletic activities like training and batting cages, not taking the field for the White Sox. 16 weeks takes it to when the Minor League Season is ending. Also I stated FULL recovery. Based on the initial diagnosis, as reported by the White Sox on May 3, it was not probable Luis AND Eloy would return to the White Sox after starting baseball ACTIVITIES up to 16 weeks out. 5-6 months to recover to the point to start baseball activities, takes one to the end of the minor league season as well. Thankfully, both had improved diagnosis reported by the team AFTER May 3. I could only respond to the injury diagnosis on May 3 as reported on May 3. Also note my praise for Ethan Katz, the primary reason the White Sox are where they are at. The Sox only have him based on the fact Tony La Russa's choice, octogenarian Dave Duncan, turned him down, and Lucas Giolito went out and recruited Katz.
