  3. We didn't need anymore Baggs Seriously though..... why do all the Choice backers think the Choice bashers blame Choice for the Sox's poor showing in 2001 and 2002? I don't get how me saying that K-layton sucked donkey balls can be translated into K-layton is the reason why the White Sox didn't repeat 2000's success. K-layton sucked. PERIOD. So he had a 90-something fielding percentage. Too bad he had a range of 2 to 3 steps in either direction at SS. If that was the range exhibited by an ARod, Nomar, or..... dare I say it..... a Valentin, their fielding percentages would probably be between 98-100% too. Damn straight!

  5. They must actually be tracking the IP you are casting your vote from. I've tried stuffing the ballot box but it just doesn't work. I did get a second vote in from home though
  6. I'd vote for Al Sharpton just to keep things interesting
  7. But that's all relative... Whether or not you and I think we give them enough aid, we're not about to jump in a plane and fly it into a building. I suppose that's my point. I don't want to put words in your mouth, but it sounds like you are saying that the fact that they flew planes into our buildings proves their own attitudes towards us to be true. I hope I misunderstood that. That would without question be the most ignorant, arrogant, and flat out illogical thing I've ever heard. I'm not saying anything is true or false. My point is that whether you think it is unfounded or not, we are stereotyped by the rest of the world as self-centered, greeedy bullies and that is something we desperately need to improve. Do I think we've ever done anything so bad we deserve to be subjected to terrorist attacks? Hell no... That's ridiculous. However, do I think we're so good and wonderful that I shouldn't speak out against what I don't like? Nope... I'm somwhere in between. Well I'm not against improving the way the world views us, I'm just not willing to let insane mass murderers point their weapons at our heads in order to do it. And as much as I'd love to stuff a sock in our mouth sometimes, I'll always support your right to express your opinion. You often only succeed at showing your own ignorance anyway.
  8. Which one, the picture of me with the bald head? I'll bring it back if you want Nah! The last thing we need is an aroused hsc. Oh sure, blame it on HSC.
  9. Which one, the picture of me with the bald head? I'll bring it back if you want
  10. At the very least I'll be able to vote once from work and once from home. That's if I can't find any other ways.
  11. I promise to vote at least once in good Chicago fashion.

  15. I think the fact that they are homers buys them some slack in my eyes. It definetly makes it more fun for me to listen to them.
  16. Not even worrying about the rest of the world, most expert estimate that around 30% of Americans are dealing with poverty. And without checking the stats, I think the U.S. has the highest rates of child and overall poverty for any industrialized nations... If it's not at the top of both categories, we're up there. I'm not arguing that there aren't people in America who struggle financially. Nor am I arguing that they don't need any help. I will tell you though that Americans have almost no concept of poverty at all when compared to the poor in other, less capitalist nations. The web site you quote lists the poverty rate for a family of four at $30,000 a year. How may of those families have TVs and VCRs? How many families in North Korea, Afghanistan, or Ethiopia would love to make that much money. If you want to challenge me then I dare you to look up the median incomes for any of those countries and post them here, then tell me I'm wrong. I'm not gonna argue with you. US$18,000 a year, the government's poverty line, is still ridiculously wealthy in many, many countries. However, the fact that nearly 1/3 of the population in the world's wealthiest country struggle to make ends meet just might shed some light on why people don't like us. I haven't talked to everyone in the world, so I really don't know the exact numbers, but I'm willing to bet a lot more people don't like the US because they're their poor; they're not poor because they don't like the US. What you say is all true but I couldn't ferret out a point. The point you should be trying to make is that their being poor doesn't have anything to do with us directly so their being mad at us because we don't give them enough aid doesn't really make any sense.
  17. I just got a shirt from a Christian rock band called Pillar when I went to the See Spot Rock concert in Peoria last week. It's camouflage with a picture of a cartoon monkey face on the front. On the back is the same monkey but his eyes, nose, and mouth are on the ground and underneath it says "Pillar Rocks My Face Off".
  18. Was 2000 DJ's first year in the booth? The chemistry between the two of them has gotten a lot better since then.
  19. My wife went to school in Iowa City for a couple of years before we were married. I had to make the drive from Illinois on a regular basis. Ugly and boring.
  20. Really? It would be one of the first places I'd destroy. After Indiana.
  21. Not that it hasn't been posted a million times already but... Can I get the link?
