  1. We have to hope that one of JR heirs turns out to be another Rocky Wirtz,
  2. But they are not taking advantage of keeping runners close without the shift, old school style.
  3. TLR is set in his ways, and does not adjust
  4. Right on. Instead of good analytics we are the Kings of the Unwritten Rules with. 20th century game.
  5. That’s why people go to bars and parties in Ubers or with non drinking friends.
  6. He also fell asleep at the wheel in our dugout.
  7. Could you list the most positive contributions of TLR this season, and what were his blunders that need to be corrected. In your view what is his overall performance. In my view he had more blunders than positive contributions.
  8. Rentería was a plus with our Latino stars.
  9. We already had a good contact hitting 2B in Madrigal foolishly traded away. WHat analytics are you referring to? Certainly not those in reference to shifting.
  10. Right on. TLR is an embarrassment of a manager. He was exposed to the nation during the playoffs. We already knew with all his terrible decisions during the season. His HOF career was done several years back. His brand is in big decline. The fans and the Sox talent deserve a better manager that can get us to the top.
  11. This is bad news. Shouldn’t the fans have a say on TLR staying?. We are an important stakeholders. I am afraid we are going nowhere with TLR at the helm. I had suggested on an earlier. Post to name him manager emeritus a non executive advisory position. Then name a good bench coach to manage the game. Tony can sit/nap in the dogout and make suggestions, but no on field decisions.
  12. Agree. Also short term, we got stuck with Keuchel in the rotation, which probably cost us HFA.
  13. Imagine paying big money, a first rounder Madrigal and a good reliever Heuer for a rental that pitched one inning in the playoffs, and sucked most of his time here, and precluded us from getting the RF that we needed. This is a fireable offense. But nobody will be held accountable, like the Trubisky deal with the Bears.
  14. Plus losing Madrigal and Heuer in the process. Terrible trade for the Sox. JR should deduct $16M from Hahn’s lifetime compensation if this doesn’t work out.
  15. Solution is simple. Hit and run with Abreu at the plate whenever possible. We have speedy guys ahead of him. Pressure the defense, focus Abreu and create holes in the infield. It’s worth a try. What we are doing now is not working. Abreu has led MLB in DP hit the last three seasons. Problem isTLR does not adjust.
  16. Agree with you. Problem with TLR returning is that he is not going to learn from his mistakes. He does not adjust. He is set on his ways. Will be a repeat of all the blunders of this season.
  17. Grandal can’t throw runners out, and has problems with pitches on the dirt. But his hitting is good with great OBP. Suitable for DH and back up catcher.
  18. You are right. We were exposed in the playoffs. Couldn’t throw any runners out, no running game, lots of double plays, bad positioning, bad pitching management, bad pitch selection, bad manager ,etc.
  19. What’s your point? Getting rid of Hahn? Someone should be accountable for these bad moves.
  20. I actually would start with a fresh coaching staff. Too much talent was wasted with poor coaching.
  21. All that resting , punted games, Keuchel starts, when we had a chance to go all out for HFA was a blunder. The team was not sharp enough. Too much coasting. And then all that resting for four games in the playoffs doesn’t seem like a good strategy. Hope TLR retires. He just didn’t workout. Too many blunders.
  22. What about our defensive problem at catcher position? I am generally in agreement except with bringing TLR back. Many managers would love to manage a talented high potential team like the Sox. TLR did not maximize the return on our stars.
  23. The spider tack situation was a joke and all show. They checked practically all the pitchers hats after each half inning, including those pitchers that allowed several runs in the inning.
