  1. He can still have Cesar playing second and Engel in RF, with Leury on the bench. Sox bad RF defense has been badly exposed in this series. Rather have the D than a marginally better bat in the bottom of the lineup.
  2. We could have used a higher energy manager this season, an Ozzie or even Ricky type, rather than a low energy guy like TLR or Robin. TLR has not maximized / extracted the most out of our players. We have wasted too many opportunities.
  3. We already know that we have a bad coaching staff. We are bad in adjusting. There are too many coaches deferring to TLR and not advising him on some of his bad decisions and basically being cronies and yes men. We have a 20th century staff in a 21 st century game.
  4. During the regular season, we can get away with TLR bone head decisions, but not in the playoffs where we have no margin for error. TLRprobably cost us the second game with several bad decisions. Leaving a tiring Giolito in with the2 run lead: not bringing in Kopech our dominating pitcher to protect the lead,; bringing in Crochet in to pitch to three hitters including rightyGurriel in a game situation, after throwing 26 pitches the day before: putting Leury in RF so he could pinch hit with the anemic Cesar Hernández. That is 4 bad decisions. Too much to overcome. That is not a HOF performance.
  5. Your comments are an elegant way to express that TLR has sucked this season.
  6. There is a cult of personality amongst some TLR fans. He can do nothing wrong in their eyes.
  7. Bills-Chiefs are small markets but have a national following with Josh Allen and Patrick Mahones.
  8. Chicago White Sox have been in existence over 100 years, with multigenerational support and tradition. It also has regional Midwestern support. The alternate cities you mention do not have baseball tradition beyond minor league teams. New York and LA also have 2 teams. New York is not growing either. The Bronx is not a desirable part of town either. Food for thought. If Sox keep winning , it will make it more difficult to move the franchise out of Chicago.
  9. We had our chance up 4-2, but did not bring in Kopech and quickly lost the lead. There is no margin for error in the playoffs.
  10. It was easier to get the HFA than winning a game 5 in Houston.
  11. Thanks for excellent post. I will not easily accept TLR and Hahn coming back. They screwed up this season and wasted a big opportunity with the bad trade deadline acquisitions and the many bone headed TLR in game decisions ,and the bull shit resting strategy with the frequent Sunday lineups which gave away HFA. Maybe JR’s son will turn out as well as Wirtz’s son with the Blackhawks that revived the team, but I am not holding my breath. I ‘ll happily eat some crow if we win 3 in a row...
  12. Right on. It is also important to point out that with the new rules, tired Crochet had to face at least 3 batters, including the righty Gurriel, the AL batting champ who ended up tying the game. You needed to come in with a fresh pitcher with dominating stuff like Kopech to protect that lead. TLR made another terrible move, one of many this season. No sense of urgency
  13. Couldn’t say it better myself. Kopech and Hendriks are our two shutdown relievers. We had to bring in our best weapons when we were up 4-2. If we lose game 2, we have to win 3 in a row which will be very difficult to achieve. You don’t hold back any weapon for later games. Unless the Sox win three in a row, TLR should retire. He was a key piece in not going hard for HFA which looks like will doom us. I may turn out that all the resting that was done may be for just 3 games in the post season. Pathetic.
  14. I don’t know if you are being sarcastic but don’t hold your breath anyway.
  15. Proof is in the pudding. We are not haters, our criticism of TLR is based on facts and results.. Giolito was left too long by TLR. TLRdid not bring in Kopech with a 2 run lead. TLR brought Crochet in instead after throwing 26 pitches the day before, and having to face at least 3 hitters due to new rules, including righty Gurriel who drove in 2. TLR moved Leury, a terrible outfield defender, to RF taking Engel out late in a tied game. Please explain why are we wrong on TLR moves this game. In my view TLR cost us this game. His moves did not work out.
  16. By private sector I meant a publicly held company. My bad. Sox are a family business run by JR who does not respond to Wall Street or many shareholders. But is also in the private sector, you are right.
  17. Good point. However, TLR in game decisions hurt the team more than Hahn sitting on a desk.
  18. Sox managers during this period such as Ventura, Ricky and TLR were nothing to write home about either.
  19. Maybe TLR needed some rest so he figured the other guys needed it too. Those guys are paid millions to be on the field, not grabbing some bench.
  20. It is an even worse decision with having to face three batters, which included right handed hitter Gurriel, the AL batting champ. In the old days Crochet could have only faced one batter which would have minimized the damage. Couldn’t any of the other coaches on the bench mentioned to TLR that bringing in Crochet was a mistake?
  21. You are absolutely right. There may not even be a game 4. We may not even see our second most dominating pitcher, Kopech, in the series at all. That’s TLR incompetence for you. I would have liked to see Kopech pitching in Houston. He is from Texas.
