5/17 White Sox vs Cubs 1:10pm CDT: Fedde vs Rea
He had all the time in the world to make that throw

Could have been strike 3 had we not wasted the challenge

Trade Proposals
How much would it take to get Mitch Keller, assuming the pirates fall out of it?

Trade Proposals
God this is so much more fun then the other way around One I have my eye on is Joe Ryan. If we can avoid a lockout, we'd have two years of control.

Seriously/. Can't believe you'd go all out to sign Bergman and leave yourself this short in that area

Not a big Feddde fan but I do think he can eat innings.

Cubs starting pitching is so bad. Can't imagine how good they would be with more quality in that rotation.

And that's a high octane WHITE SOX WINNER
Also, this team's walk numbers are insane. Both Vargas and Murakami are in the top 10 in the AL for walks. This is absolutely contributing to the power numbers. And it's why I think this is actually sustainable. Gone are the days of the free swinging white Sox.

They have more home runs than the Red Sox do as a team. Definitely think this is more sustainable then white Sox teams of past. Getz and co have finally found the two left handed sluggers that this team has lacked for nearly ten years.

Meanwhile we still have five years of control with Martin due to his injury history.

5/16 White Sox vs Cubs 6:10 CDT: Martin vs Taillon
Benni provides veteran leadership. DFA him next year.

Was actually really impressed with him in 2022 when he filled in for Giolito and Lynn

I think Beni does have some value as a veteran guy, especially as we get into the stretch run. None of these players really have the experience he has playing meaningful games in September.

5/16 White Sox vs Cubs 6:10 CDT: Martin vs Taillon
First season he's been up in the Major Leagues where he has a had a fully clean bill of health. The adjustments he made to his windup have really paid off. Dunno if he can keep up an historic pace like this but I think he has the capability to be a top of the rotation starter.

Winner ! 5 in Row ! LFG !
Winning series convincingly against our shitty division rivals is how we get to the playoffs.

Should the Sox be buyers this deadline?
I think getting someone with veteran experience is really important. Someone with recent playoff history. Maybe that's an outfielder or something.
-
Should the Sox be buyers this deadline?
I think we need a veteran starting pitcher. I do expect the Sox to be in and around it by the deadline. Maybe a Joe Ryan if twins would trade within the division.

Observations in Anaheim from hi8is
Agree with a lot of what was said in the first post. Just curious, what starting pitchers would be available?

5/2 Sox @ Padres - 7:40PM CT
Amazing. Have to say I'm impressed with the implementation of ABS. Much smoother then semi automatic offsides.

Not extending Murakami would be a PR disaster
Let's wait and see. The value Mune provides off the field probably would work in his favor in terms of getting a big contract from JR. he also might want to be the face of a franchise. He seems like a chill guy and it does seem like he has a genuine convection the fan base and the city.

At what point do we start to believe?
Yeah I think the starting rotation is the weak point. But I do think the bullpen is starting to look a bit better. I'm encouraged by Burke and also I've been a Davis Martin fan since when he stepped in for us in 22. Smith has the tools to succeed in the big leagues.

At what point do we start to believe?
Gonna start out by saying that I'm not convinced that the white Sox will win the AL central. There are some very obvious holes in this team. But I also think, given the weakness of this division and the flaws in all the other teams, that 84 wins probably wins the division. At what point do we actually start to take this seriously. I'm very encouraged by what I see from the offense and it's impossible to understate just how badly we have been missing a player like Mune for quite some time. Had we had that profile of slugger in 2021, we may have won the World Series that year. At the very least, I would like to see ownership have to make a tough decision about going for it this year.

Munemania: Murakami and Judge pacing each other
Kind of think he becomes our first $100 million signing. Multitude of reasons but also the fact that he brings in revenue like few other players can. We give Getz crap but not only is this his best signing but it may prove to be the best free agent signing of the off season from any team.
