  1. It is. But to be honest, you can catch lightening in a bottle with a closer for a year. Liam's leadership will be missed the most but maybe they rally for him? I am just concerned with what this will do to him in terms of his health.
  2. This is gutting. I have no doubt he will survive but he's widely regarded as the best person in the game. My friend works with Howard Brown, an LGBTQ health center in Chicago and the amount of work he has done for them is immense. Also remembering how vocal he was after the Supreme Court ruling. I'm so proud he's a White Sock. Hope this is a blip and he's back either later this year or next. Just hope he is ok.
  3. Also, is it possible that Gravesman is the one sent to the Mets? Now that TLR is gone, this especially seems likely. I think the fact that they had Liam talk with Pedro right after he was hired indicates that he is going to be here next year.
  4. I think this is more likely than Hendriks being dealt. They already have Robertson who was a successful closer.
  5. I love vague as hell this is. This is so vague he can't be wrong.
  6. I think they have resigned themselves to going over the luxury tax.
  7. To be honest, given the high money contract some of these relievers are signing, they may be able to move Gravesman. Which would be a plus and free up some money.
  8. No. He hated it so much he gave up more like 3 million
  9. He'll likely be getting $5 million from another team.
  10. He is going to get close to $10 million anyways considering the buyout is $5 million.
  11. I think his second half fatigue has a lot to do with him playing out of position.
  12. To be honest, they need changes but I don't think they need to make whole sale changes. It's somewhere in the middle. A retool that is a notch below the 2005 one. I really do think this new coaching staff can do a lot to help guys like Moncada, Vaughn, and even Grandal. Get a starting pitcher, a left handed corner outfielder (Conforto would be excellent), and new 2nd Baseman.
  13. I wouldn't be surprised if they are making a huge move for Cintron. He was a former White Sox player and KW was a huge fan of him.
  14. Long. They may have just gone under the radar with that interview. If it were Guillen, they would have announced already. It's someone in the world series.
  15. I think it's Espada but this is a ceremonial thing. Especially because he's on the postgame show. But I think they likely see in Espada what the positive things were about Renteria while being a much better in game manager.
  16. I think it's going to be Espada. Maybe it's wishful thinking but it was clear seeing his interview that this was Hahn's guy and actually I think it's the closest return to the GOOD element's of Renteria's run. And we can give JR all kinds of s%*# but I think that they want that because inspite of what a worthless piece of s%*# he is, I do believe JR wants to win. If I were Hahn and JR needed convincing about Espada, that's how I would spin it.
  17. He's been in the Braves organization so he probably is much more open to it than he was when he was managing the Braves. People can change with the time. I think Bochy is another guy who is much more open to it than he was before he retired
  18. Sox have to break up the core but I actually think Wash likely gets the best out of Moncada and TA, at least going off of what we know about the work he did in Atlanta.
  19. It's going to be either Washington, Bochy or Espada. And I think all of them are fine options. To be honest, I think Harris will be hired as bench coach.
  20. Soun He'd be great and Dusty has given no indication that he'll step down either.
  21. I think Katz is likely highly regarded enough around baseball circles to survive and be hired by whomever the next manager is. Maybe Cairo as well, although quite frankly Cairo could be potentially up for a managerial job even outside the White Sox. I'm also not sold on Gio being traded.
  22. I disagree. This team would be up by five or six games now if another manager was at the helm. Does the team have flaws? Yes. But we are seeing in front of our own eyes just how destructive La Russa was.
