  1. Wonder what a package of Rodon and Joctober would look like?
  2. That's insane. I don't think it'll cost that. I think likely a mid tier prospect. He's a rental.
  3. I like Beinintendi but his vax status freaked me out as well as the fact that he doesn't hit for that much power. The Sox need a big left handed thumper. If the Sox can't get Soto, and quite frankly given the price tag I don't think Soto is being dealt, Bryan Reynolds would be the ideal fit.
  4. If the Nats are serious about any deal for Soto having to include Corbin, Soto won't be traded. No team is going to take on that horrible contract.
  5. If the Giants fall out of it this week, how much do we think Rodon and Pederson would cost? I think they are less costly simply because they are rentals. Outisde of Reynolds and Soto, I think Pederson is the best option for the Sox. And having Rodon back would be amazing. Again, don't know how realistic this is. I guess it depends on what the Giants do this week.
  6. To be honest, a package for Reynolds and Quintana would be pretty damn good. They need a left handed reliever as well but likely find one somewhere. I think 2nd base is less of a hole than people think. They just need to play Harrison consistently.
  7. I saw an interview with Lynn that partially explains what is going on. It was during his rehab start and they asked him how he felt and he said that he was still adjusting to the surgery and the surgery had done to his knee. I think the surgery he had likely requires some sort of big mechanical adjustment on his part. I have faith in him that he'll find it. I don't think Keuchel and Lynn are comparable at all.
  8. But a lot of it has to do with the beef. Specifically Vienna beef, which is far superior. I live in New York. Nathan's hot dogs are shit. They are so bad that at Mets games, I make a point of standing in the ShakeShack line just for hot dogs because they carry Vienna Beef.
  9. He's also coming off a career year and one of the better years for a catcher in recent memory.
  10. I'd go all in for Soto. Personally, I would love to see the Sox get Reynolds and Quintana from Pittsburgh. They also need a left handed reliever.
  11. Menechino and Lynn. To be quite honest, Menechino's firing is more important for me right now than getting rid of Tony. The offense hits and a lot of this stuff about Tony becomes more irrelevant.
  12. Makes sense. Hopeful for another hot mic moment.
  13. I think, if healthy and playing to their potential, the Sox have a much better chance to beat NY and Houston than Minnesota. The proof is in the pudding when it comes to how they faired head to head. It's why I'm more likely to take the plunge on a dramatic trade.
  14. One thing I loved is that the home runs were all the result of the Sox pulling the ball last night. We've been teased before but I think they might be coming out of this.
  15. I think Menechino is gone by the All Star break. The only thing that keeps him is if the Sox hit an ungodly amount of Home Runs against the Twins.
  16. Bochy would be excellent. The age isn't that big of a deal. Baker is 73 and thriving with the Astros.
  17. Last notable one was Jack McKeon and we know how that ended....
  18. Not a Tony fan but you can't blame the bottom of the ninth on him. He's not telling Abreu to swing at awful pitches. I'm sure he was as baffled as all of us to see Eloy beat that pitch into the ground. These guys are pros and should know enough that when you have a pitcher with no control up there, you aren't going to swing at anything that doesn't look like a strike. Also, and not many people are talking about this, there was an egregious strike call that went against Robert that may have changed the hitter's approach at the plate following that call. Robert should have had a walk. I'm glad he got the double but that call could have been a factor in the more aggressive approach after that.
  19. I like Drury but they need a left handed bat. Do they have enough prospects to get Bryan Reynolds in a down year? And if they do, can they dump Pollock for some prospects to a contender. I think getting Drury does make sense but only if they get a left handed bat.
  20. I think they are going to go after Jazz Chisholm. I also think, and maybe it's just me, but getting another pitcher, especially given just how durable and dependable Cueto is, isn't that much of a priority. I have no issue with Cueto pitching in a playoff game.
