  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 08:39 AM) Much better episode. John Locke is such a little b****. That dude has gotten them into more trouble than any of the criminals or anyone else combined. He has never been able to leave well enough alone, and always thinks he knows better than everyone else. His stupid obsession with showing that he knows more than everyone else has cost them a couple of times. The ping pong game was awesome. They totally sold you on the whole Asian/ping pong stereotype and then they threw Hugo in there who whipped Sawyers ass. Classic. The best part of that was Hugo saying they had a table "where I used to hang out a lot." The stuff with Sayid meeting one of his torture victims was tough as well. He is so good at saying just enough to get by, and he totally played that perfectly to survive. It will be interesting to see what they do with the Russian guy, and the previews kinda gave it away. i totally forgot about the ping pong table at the mental institution until i thought about it more... and you are totally right about Locke, but usually for every stupid thing he goes out and does he can usually redeem himself so maybe that will be the case up coming also, if you don't already have an idea about who is related then here is the spoiler alert (scroll over to read): Jack and Claire both have the same father which is why Jack's dad was in Australia in Ana Lucia's flashback
  2. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 12:59 AM) Technically Illinois does have a national title, it's just that that trophy is extremly dusty. Same goes for Utah I believe. yep 1915 baby what a year! too bad the NCAA tourney didnt start until 1939
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 6, 2007 -> 10:10 AM) I know we talked about Prison Break last week, but I was real disappointed in the "shocking" angle they tried to take with the President and her family stuff. I'm not a big believer in the Jump the Shark syndrome, but that seems like a textbook situation. that was worse than some of the things that have happened on 24; prison break is going through presidents faster than 24 ever did
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 6, 2007 -> 09:19 AM) Its not much leverage because the entire world knows that no one is going to sign Briggs and give up two first round picks. It never happens. I honestly don't know if it has ever actually happened. most teams manage to get a first round pick out of it i think so if that rumored deal was true then there is no way the bears shouldnt take that offer
  5. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 6, 2007 -> 08:00 AM) That can't be true, because if it was, he would be wearing a Giants uniform as we speak. Well if the Giants wanted to sign/negotiate a contract with him and the Bears didn't want to match then the bears would receive two 1st rounders. So the bears do have some leverage, but that is still a pretty good offer to have if it is in fact true.
  6. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Mar 2, 2007 -> 02:07 PM) How come Kansas fans still cant understand that regardless of whether they get a 1 or 2 seed that Kansas has a 90% chance of coming to Chicago. It has nothing to do with the seeding or bracket name, and everything to do with protected seeds, pods, etc. SIU at a 3, which is what I was saying in the MVC tournament thread. And since Wisconsin has the play in game does that mean Lunardi has them as the #1, 1? i doubt it; the play in game winner has to go to a friday-sunday site which chicago is i believe so i assume the other two sites are thursday-saturday; plus travel from dayton to chicago is minimal for the play-in teams
  7. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Feb 28, 2007 -> 03:50 PM) That is fine, but lunardi moved kansas to the East which makes no sense. They should be the 2 in the midwest right now. why should they be the 2 in the midwest?? if you do the rankings on an S-curve thats where they fall they only get placed into a specific pod for the opening round; kansas wont get placed in the midwest being a #2 seed
  8. i am rooting for the salukis since any auto bid not taken by a team that is a LOCK to get in always slims the at large chances for bubble teams like Illinois
  9. i dont have the link but there's a great dugout about how Jeter is always on the 2K baseball cover
  10. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Feb 23, 2007 -> 11:07 AM) Didn't read the article, but I imagine they were talking about an NIT game. NO, this is about all sports especially ones such as volleyball, tennis, and soccer which are more likely to host post-season games especially after performing well in the regular season
  11. i just read that the only big reveal was about jack's tattoos (this being from the producers) and it was the marketing geniuses at ABC who said there were three big questions answered
  12. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Feb 22, 2007 -> 01:18 PM) Isn't it possible his agent is just posturing to drive his price up ala a training camp holdout? sure his agent his posturing but this is the Bears and they are cheap so this wouldn't seem to help his cause; just read Rozner's column in the daily herald and it says it all
  13. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Feb 21, 2007 -> 04:46 PM) another new one tonight. supposedly some "questions" get answered. why do i expect the answers to lead to 10 more questions. the only questions will seem to be about jack's tattoo and maybe what happened to some of the people the others took from the tailies
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 20, 2007 -> 02:38 PM) The most damning verbage of this story is makes it clear that Jamar NEVER called 911, as first thought based on word of mouth. Ouch. It also points out he was tested for more than alcohol (since he was smoking pot, that isn't good) and a number of other basketball team members were present, but that was probably since the original party was at Jamar's complex (which I was NOT aware of), so hopefully there is nothing more to that. actually it sounds like they only tested for alcohol which won't really matter because being under 21 and being over twice the legal limit is bad enough as it is this is just a really bonehead move on both parts since Brian appears to have been drinking too
  15. so does tOSU deserve the #1 ranking in the polls this week over Wisky?? everyone seems to be handing it to them when I think Wisky is a better team...guess we'll see later this week when they play
  16. a guy at work had an extra ticket so it looks like I'm on my way to Mackey Arena for some IU-PU action!
  17. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 14, 2007 -> 06:15 PM) I don't understand why everyone gets their collective panties in a bunch every week when Lunardi's bracketology comes out. It's pretty easy to enjoy it weekly if you keep the following in mind: 1. This is NOT a prediction of what he thinks the bracket will look like come March. 2. This IS a snapshot of what the bracket could look like if the season ended today. 3. It does NOT take into accout what games teams have left and how they might finish. See #2 4. This is a conversation piece and nothing more. Basketball season is way to volatile to do anything but look at each week in isolation. The matchups and tournament sites are just things to talk about. This would be pretty boring if all he did was name 64 teams each week. I haven't paid much attention to Lunardi's final bracket the past 2-3 years, but his final bracket used to be damned close. When I first started checking his bracket regularly, he never missed more than 2 teams in the field and most teams were within one seed line. Unless his final brackets have gone into the tank in the past couple of years, I don't see how one can see he is a terrible bracketologist. thank you for typing what i was feeling; why do people care so much what this guy projects would happen at this time in the season?? i enjoy it because i can compare my own rankings to his to get a feel for teams' situations as the season winds down
  18. this list will change; not to defend lunardi much but as of right now you can see that many getting in but over the next few weeks some of these teams will knock each other out of consideration
  19. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 01:21 PM) Very sexciting! that was a pretty weak couple of power hours; some of this stuff is just getting annoying at this point
  20. 2 more jack bauer power hours tonight!
  21. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Feb 10, 2007 -> 06:00 PM) Some other tips. When you said Peanut Butter, I'm assuming that you meant your skippy or jif or what not. Those are two of the worst things you can consume. It's high in the bad sugars I talked about, it's high in trans/saturated fats. It might take some getting used to but 100% natural peanut butter is as good as it gets as time goes on. Add that to some sugar free jelly and you've got a real nice snack as well. are you sure about all-natural peanut butter? most PB doesnt have trans fats and there really isnt significant difference in two as a whole that makes all-natural that much better, at least as far as I can tell, but you may know more than me
  22. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 10, 2007 -> 03:59 PM) You have to keep in mind that Illinois is playing more games than past teams since they get the 3 or 4 (I forget which) exempt games due to the Chicago tournament. Who's team #2? Also, the Michigan State win was at home, not away as that profile suggests. my guess is texas
  23. you might want to work in some strength training; by building muscle mass you may gain weight initially but helping build muscle will help you burn more calories later down the road and could push you out of the plateau
