  1. I will buy Sox season tickets even though I can' t make but a game or two.
  2. Altogehter now, chant and clap "bring him back ... bring him back ... bring him back"
  3. We're missing a lefty stick vs. Byrd w/out Thome. Wonder if Oz will go with Wise in rf again and Pods in center? With Dye at DH. If Oz sits Rios again I bet KW will start to get steamed. Playing lefty Wise two days in a row might anger some fans at the Cell.
  4. Nobody ever comments on my posts so I didn't know I got my point across. Sorry Squert, my bad.
  5. Fair point. When next season starts, I'm sure I'll shut up about Rios and give him until late May to prove he can or cannot be better than Swisher. The reason I currently am down on Rios is I expected to win the s***ty Central this season and I bought into the argument Rios and Peavy would be the keys and might even propel us to the WS. The common perception was if we could keep it close and win the Central even (we were 2 out just a couple weeks ago) our rotation would be murder in the playoffs and we could rely more on just Thornton and Carrasco and not those other bullpen hacks. we were a team allegedly set up to make a strong postseason run with that Peavy and Mark-led rotation and a real center fielder finally. Rios provided no spark, so as a fan yes I am overblaming him. I also was down on Beckham when he got off to the lousy start, but I for the most part shut up, waiting since he's so young. He's rebounded nicely. Rios ... I expected him to be the missing key and indeed there were several games that we were in, where he made KEY OUTS where I happened to be watching. On Wise, this year despite being buried by many many fans, he's given me 3 good moments. THE CATCH, the hit versus the Yankees and even yesterday throwing the Cub out at the plate. Yes it was a shallow fly, but again that was a key play. I like Wise; don't like Rios right now. I'll force myself to try to shut up on Rios and wait until next Memorial Day to bury or praise him.
  6. Alex Rios ... you are no Chet Lemon.
  7. The only way you can start getting even moderately excited is if we sweep Boston and Detroit loses its next four. We'd still be four back in the loss column if we pulled that miracle off and that's currently what the Cubs are behind in the wild card and everybody says they are buried. Optimism is great, but we pissed that away in that 16 game stretch of s***tiness.
  8. Great post. The reason I currently dislike Rios big time is he failed miserably to do what the Sox brought him in to do this year. Help us win the average Central Divsion. Has he had one big hit yet? Why acquire him and pay him the big bucks when in past offseasons we've cried poor and not signed cfs way better than No hit Rios?
  9. Why are people so sensitive getting mad at those of us who think Rios is a dog? This team acquired him to help now and he's failed miserably. Same with Pena. He hasn't helped a lick.
  10. Well we can judge him on how he's helped the team in a pennant race which is what acquisitions are meant to do. He's not helped at all. So he deserves some heat.
  11. I'm very mad Alex Rios has had a terrible year offensively, because he has had prime moments where he could have lifted us to victory and maybe kept us in the race. He has done absolutely nothing at the plate. Some 40/40 guys (yes that's what he has been billed up to be in the majors) can carry a team. He could really have lifted us on that road trip and in those 6 games vs. KC and the O's but simply sucked. He got here in time to help us THIS YEAR and has failed miserably. Hopefully he'll get his s*** together for next season. Now comes the part where somebody makes an excuse for him ...he hasn't played every single game or something like that. Well, we have four outfielders worthy of playing and he was given ample at bats to provide a spark. Yes Dye has also sucked and Pods has failed us on the basepaths, but Rios?? Yuk so far.
  12. Why would you want to trade Torres when he looks like a possible middle relief candidate for our horrific bullpen? At some point KW has to address the bullpen issue. Relying on Linebrink and Dotel just because they make big bucks will get us nowhere. They are 2 reasons we have had such a s*** second half.
  13. Paulie's at bat earlier in the game where he waved at an ouside junk curve ball was similarly bad. On a positive note ... was anybody else so happy to see a baserunner score EASILY from second on a single to left today? When Getz came racing home from second on a single the way it's drawn up? It was nice to realize who was on second and how it wouldn't be station to station when the ball went through the hole. I love the home run but once in a while it's nice to have a no brainer single score a run from second.
  14. I'm hoping the anger phase subsides soon. Aren't you the least bit pissed at the choke job we pulled in that 16-game stretch?
  15. I agree, but a loss or two here and there and a draft position or two up or down doesn't interest me much. There are very good players to choose from in the first round regardless.
  16. 4-2 season series against the Cubs is very good. f*** the Cubs. We are now ahead by two games in the all time series as well I think.
  17. I'll never root for us to lose a game. The draft is too much of a crapshoot to care about that. Sorry the Sox have put me in a very bad mood since the Royals and Orioles' series. I'm glad we won, but I'm still in the anger stage at the pissing away of the season. I'm sure the anger will subside before too long. Sorry but at this point in time the team has just pissed me off since the Royals and O's.
  18. If the other team's outfielders keep falling down in the 8th and 9th, we're in business.
  19. It's very nice to win to pick up a game on Cleveland. That's the only race we're in, perhaps to catch Minnie as well.
  20. Yeah and we get the Royals and Indians and Orioles who we don't dominate enough. Nice win, but we got our own problems to not worry about the Dubs.
  21. I'm out. Bring home a winner guys. I am not feeling good about the lack of key hits vs. Dumpster. Feel like it's gonna strike us negatively to the tune of a 5-1 loss. Peace out.
  22. Another opporunity with men on base. Yikes
  23. Quentin is too f***ing anxious at the plate. My god.
  24. That sucked. Paulie has whiffed on junk and a high heater both.
