Great article. I think you are right. But is Person that good? I like the idea of trying Moyer. If Byrd wasn't a one-year wonder he would eat up a lot of innings like Todd was supposed to. Unless of course Byrd sucked next year. Another tough call. But I'd sign Moyer and go with our guys. LETS SIGN MOYER and let him be the next starter to be jinxed by the Soxx.

I wouldn't mind keeping him, but if Frank was smart he'd get a deal with Boston. He'll be ultra motivated or the fans will boo him way worse than the Chi. fans booed him. He'll have a great year in Fenway. All in all we probably should keep him don't ya think? I do hate those spells when Frank is clueless at the plate but he always puts up a lotta RBIs, even in this bad year. I hate KW way more than I hate Frank.

I sort of liked KW's answer to the questions. It made me think for once he had sort of a clue. .... But then I'm glad i read hotsoxchik's commentary to bring me back to reality. KW nearly had me shifting position, but I liked soxchick bringing me back to reality. KW to me looked good in his answers to these questions, but I respect chick's comments more. Isn't it amazing how some careers end so quickly? Sirotka may never be on a team again, may never be interviewed again, may never be "bothered" by fans again. I don't know if he was a jerk or not, but it's amazing how quckly guys come in and fade away. It amazes me how baseball teams have paid pitchers multi year contracts for so many years when the arm can go at any time. It's probably the only philosophy Reinsdork has I agree with in THEORY. Now when every other good team is paying multi years and we aren't, we lose in the deal, but in theory I think JR is right on that one. That said, give Mark B. a hefty RAISE!

For some reason I take delight in seeing Ray Durham not reach the ALCS, at least this year. I thought he sucked late in his Sox career. Am I just bitter? Do you all also feel happiness he didn't make it? Were you satisfied with his entire Sox career or not? He actually had a damn fine career, but for some reason his play rubbed me the wrong way this season.

I want the Twins so they will be complacent next year and maybe even break up the team. If they lose, they may be even hungrier, or so the theory usually goes.

I like players who I personally consider difference makers. And I may be full of bleep but I think a big difference maker is Jim Thome. I know the Indians stunk this year, but I think if we got him it would be comparable to guys Bill Veeck used to add eons ago to make the Sox competitive and fun. Like Dick Allen, Zisk, Pudge (was he a Veeck guy?). We haven't added a fun player in a long time. So my faves are Thome, Pedro of course, and many of the current Twins. But if I could add one guy, it'd be Thome or Christian Guzman.

Guys n gals, Are we in good shape as far as attendance? Is Reinsdork pondering moving our boys or are we safe for many years to come? I know we didn't have very good attendance, did we? We averaged about 20,000? or was it 22,000?

Yes, Thome contingent on no Frank. I just love Thome for some reason. I think he would put us over the top. The guy is a great great guy and amazing power hitter.

I would like to play also, but I am on the road a lot during Kansas University basketball season covering the team, so I might screw it up if I'm out of town 2-3 days in a row.

I hope you are right, but I don't know how we can call the division ours. We played .500 ball and still have a ton of question marks. Until I see the Twins roster next year I can't say we are gonna win squat. Does anybody know for sure who the Twins are gonna lose? Who are free agents, etc. I thought they had a batch of guys in the Mark B. category, way too young to be free agents

Seems we were destined to finish .500. Win one, lose one. Maddening, but we're not nearly as bad as half the AL. Mark B really does need to be making at least 2 mill a year. As a gesture of good faith the Sox need to pay him a few bucks extra next year.
