I hope it runs out soon. But to be fair, if we are improved this year, maybe he's not a complete zero. He did add a lot of pieces that right now in the winter look reasonable. He has a lot of making up to do, however. In my opinion at least.
  2. One thing I like about reading your roster is I think we can all agree on paper it's a better team than last year's. No Lofton. No Clayton. No Alomar (wait, he's still here, yuk!). No Todd Ritchie. And I like Colon obviously and Daubach intrigues me as a decent backup. Assuming we make no stupid trades, trading Paulie or Crede or Garland, I think we're a better club. Do you all agree?

I'm not mad at Mark B at all for those comments. I blame the White Sox management. Mark B would not want to leave if we were a great organization. We are a piss poor organization. We have made no real attempt to make him feel special and he is special. Where would you rather play?? St. Looie or for the Sox? I mean I would choose the Sox cause I'm from Chicago and love them. But with Sox management and KW, et. all, of course you'd pick the Cardinals. It ain't Mark B's fault. He's gone as soon as he can get out of here. Unless of course he hurts his arm (knock on wood, I don't want that) then St. Looie won't want him. Greed in baseball goes both ways. They love him now but if he hurts his arm, St. Looie will want nothing to do with him. comments?
  4. We have had so many baserunning blunders in the past. The worst may be Jerry Dyzbinski (sp?) who cost us a pennant with his blunder in the extra inning game Britt Burns lost to Baltimore. If we win we go to deciding game five withi LaMarr Hoyt on the mound. Hoyt was having a career year, but the Dybber blew it on the basepaths and we don't win 1-0, we lost in 10. Boston has a curse, but we do, too!
  5. It's hard to believe how good Maggs is. Amazing. Seems to me we should have won a Series by now with Maggs, Frank, Lee and Paulio on paper providing an incredible middle of the order. Hopefully the addition of Colon makes our staff pretty darn good. We still may have a questionable infield. I love Crede, but can he do it next year on a full time basis. I love Jose V, but I am worried about those winter league stats somebody posted. Is he over the hill or not? I like D'Angelo but is he good enough? Why would those other 2 teams give up on him? And I love Paul K. He is consistent. We're also not great at catcher. We have a lot of ifs, correct?

IN the Bill Veeck era we always picked up guys like Daubauch and it always worked out. What do you all know of this guy besides stats? How did we get him? Why did Boston let him go?? Is he over the hill or can he play? Is he a Clayton like cancer or a good clubhouse guy? For some reason I'm hoping he has a Thome-like demeanor but I know nothing about Brian D. Tell me more pls.
  7. Krause is known as a real sourpuss. I can't believe he's even sour to fans like Heather. Just sign it Jerry, not that many people want your autograph!
  8. ok i'll trust you guys on this trade. i do think biddle may have a great year, tho. p.s. why did we let the royals sign lowe? we coulda taken him back?
  9. i agree with sox chick. Fully. What did you think of the trade chick? I do respect your opinion. I think Rockie should have stayed and could have stayed, but like ESPN said it looks like we didn't give up any integral players. But Rockie should still be a Sox!
  10. Good post Yasny. I don't begrudge Ritchie either. He handled his awful season with class. He took all responsibility. But he was so horrific it screwed up our season big time.

Spat I respect your opinion. What do you think of the trade.
  12. Do you really think we worked them by also throwing Biddle in the deal?
  13. Didn't we give up a little too much? I am not criticizing the trade, but we gave up Osuna, Biddle and Lief. I didn't like Osuna, but I'm thinking we may regret losing Biddle someday. Again, I will give KW some kudos, but when I heard the trade on the radio I heard we got Colon for Osuna. They didn't mention the other guys. Well, Colon is going to be a free agent. Couldn't we have gotten this done for just Osuna???? Again, if Colon isn't a bust like Ritchie and David Wells, congrats to KW. Yes our rotation looks good on paper. But we may have given up too much!!
  14. I hope Reinsdork doesn't stick with KW as long as he has with the bozo running the Bulls. I mean I'd love to get Colon ... but show us something, KW. Get him for nothing. Just do it. They are dying to get rid of him. Acquire him and give NOTHING in return. Give 3 minor leaguers we could care less about. Comments?

I like Jiminez, agree with you on harris. Let's play D'Angelo with Valentin and see what happens.
  16. I could care less if Ritchie turns it around. He sucked for us and we needed him big time. He was disgracefully bad. His pitches screamed hit me all season. Good luck to him, but just like when we got rid of Lofton and Alomar, I don't care how they did on their new teams, just to get them off our team. Same with Royce and Ritchie. They had to go. They both sucked!!
  17. Why do we have such an awful GM. How can any Sox fan trust KW? We have the worst GM who is itching to acquire Colon and again decimate us of 3-4 good players.
  18. greg775 replied to johndyce's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That's why we do not trade Garland or any of the guys we've been throwing in there and watching develop. Keep them.
  19. It's obvious we are going to get Colon. And we are going to overpay. This is the Ritchie trade all over again, folks. get ready to lose 3 name players for one pitcher.
  20. Why oh why can't we trade nobodies for somebodies like most good teams do. They want to get rid of Colon. Give them 3 minor league prospects who suck. Nobody with a name. I hope everybody boycotts the sox if the trade you suggest goes through. Asinine.
  21. KENNY SUCKS AND PITCHING WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!! I'll say it you are correct sir. Baseball also is close to sucking on the whole with the disparity of money out there. At least we are patently mediocre. Look at the Royals. A once proud franchise year to year is just getting worse and worse. Every year the team loses what little talent is has. It's sad when you think about it. I mean Det, and Kansas City truly suck. And Minnesota is tenuous at best. They can't afford to keep any of their great players. THough they should have enough this year to beat us again unless we put together an 85-win season somehow
  22. If we overpay again it's gonna be another Ritchie trade. We'll be watching Rauch, Garland, Wright, whomever kicking ass in Montreal while Colon is average here. I want to acquire him but for nothing. Like you said, we overpay and will do so again. We'll probably give up Crede, Garland, Wright and two minor leaguers. We should give them 3 stiffs in the minors for Colon. I mean who did the Yanks give up for Weaver? If we make 2-3 more bonehead trades, we are going to be horses*** for years to come instead of mediocre.
  23. Somebody that has a lot of time ought to go through all the AL outfields and list the batting averages of the three starting outfielders. Don't you think most if not all outfields have guys in the .260 to .280 range, just like Rowand? I mean if he hits .270 and drives in 75 runs, isn't that acceptable to us?
  24. I like Mark B. Too bad we can't show him the love with the kind of money the Yanks would and will throw at him. He's a future Cardinal, though, like you say. Too bad but I can't blame him. How would you like to play for Reinsdork and KW?? p.s. I also agree with the poster about injuries. You'd think Mark would take a good deal now. He could wreck his arm at any time. His hatred of KW must override his fear of injury
  25. The superior Clayton?? I can't believe I read that. He is where he belongs, with a horses*** team where he can bat 500 times and suck in anonymity. I don't care if Clayton hits .400 somehow. He was a stiff for us. Ditto Lofton and Alomar and Ritchie.
