Robin is a badass this year. He does what he wants to do. He's very aggressive. Rodon got to 107 pitches and gave up the bomb, then whiffed the lefty and ... bye bye. Now that Robin has learned how to manage, we could have a good manager for the next 20 years. He's only 48. -

QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 11, 2016 -> 04:15 AM) It would be awesome if Rodon doesn't start the 5th. I'm not a big Carroll fan. And sometimes things turn around for a pitcher in a baseball game. His pitch count is low. -

That would be awesome if Rodon catches a second wind and breezes thru the fifth and sixth. -

That was a PERFECT call by Hawk. He laughed at how we caught a break on that awful baserunning. -

Love the way Avi served that all the way to the wall. Finally the pitcher throws a strike and as expected a meatball. Did Avi miss it? Nope. He fricking whacks it to the LF wall. Nice job, Avi. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 10, 2016 -> 11:45 PM) It is unreal how if you were to replace "transgendered" with "colored", you have the crux of the separate but equal system of the 60's. I'm not smart enough to understand that comparison.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 10, 2016 -> 11:17 PM) Why? Why is it a big deal? Cause the person who wants in the women's bathroom merely is saying he "identifies" with being a female. Why should a person with still has the male body part be allowed in where women/girls might have to see such body part? Shouldnt' he be the one who is inconvenienced a bit? Or is he afraid of how he's dressed might cause backlash in the mens room. If anybody hassles him, they should be arrested. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 10, 2016 -> 11:27 PM) Its already happening to you now dude. Did you kick them out? No. I wouldn't try to kick anybody out of any restroom.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 10, 2016 -> 11:08 PM) I meant that it's ridiculous that we live in a world that people feel compelled to say something like that to others, but we got to this point because so many people couldn't recognize their own privileges and that others may deal with s*** on a daily basis that that person couldn't comprehend but doesn't bother to. Essentially, it boils down to a bunch of people, mostly straight white males, who think they are attacked constantly by gays, minorities, etc because those people are asking for equal rights or just an even playing field. That's what upsets me so f***ing much, that people can't fathom that there's s*** in the world that they've never gone through and therefore discredit it all and meanwhile say everything is f***ing honkey dorey when it f***ing isn't. Do I condone people coming up to strangers who are just walking by and yelling in their face? No, definitely not. Those people are angry and lashing out in the absolute wrong way. But I understand where that anger has come from. That's cool you don't condone the yelling in the face incidents. I applaud you enthusiastically for that. You said: "Essentially, it boils down to a bunch of people, mostly straight white males, who think they are attacked constantly by gays, minorities, etc because those people are asking for equal rights or just an even playing field." I don't know what to think about that sentence. Rather than try to interpret what you mean I'd ask for further clarification. I guess I feel "attacked" by the transgender bathroom issue because I don't think it's an equal rights issue. If you have a dick you go in the male bathroom is all I'm saying there. As far as race, I think most white males if confronted in a reasonable manner, say at a debate, would have to agree that yes, there is proof that whites indeed have had privilege and as you said many "have never gone through" some things that blacks have gone through. But it is a very complicated issue and the whole admit your privilege thing is not productive to inducing positive change. I appreciate your thoughtfulness, but not everything is cut and dried in life to where a gang of people should think telling people to "admit your provilege" is a good idea. It more often than not would get the response, f*** You. Just thinking out loud, but would it be OK to yell admit your privilege to Obama's two kids? What about second generation of a black surgeon? What about the children of Michael Jordan? This is very complicated. It may all boil down to "are you racist or not? Are you prejudiced or not?" I wish everybody could get along.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 10, 2016 -> 11:11 PM) So basically all bathrooms need security guards and transgendered people need to identify themselves as they walk into every room and building in every day of their lives. I know, we can give them some sort of ID card to present in the event that they want to go to the bathroom No big deal Yes, it's kind of a big deal when you have male body parts and the sign says "women" and you want in. It's kind of a big deal.

QUOTE (Tony @ May 10, 2016 -> 09:29 PM) So if I'm wrapping my head around this right, and bare with me, this whole argument is bat-s*** crazy, the transgendered person standing by you at Subway, pre-operation creeps you out and you are intolerant of them. Same goes for them going into the womens room. However, if they have the operation, you are OK with it. So the question then obviously becomes, how do you know if the person in the line with you at Subway had the operation? Are we doing a bit of peeking??? How would you ever know if they had the operation? Are you going to ask them, then make your determination? And obviously that's just the tip of the iceberg with these questions. You realize how crazy this is, no? I guess I'm outlining my position in theory only since I do not know for sure if the person has a male body part as no, I am not checking. I think Greg's position is clear unlike many of you who don't give me your exact position on this real-life scenario. Greg's position: A person who has a male body part should be ordered to use the male restroom even if that person "identifies" with being a woman. The reason is that person has a male body part. It is unfortunate the person feels his identification with being a woman gives him the right to go to the female restroom. Now if the person with the male body part is traumatized by the idea of going to the male rest room and it might cause an anxiety attack or breakdown, Greg would be in favor of this person being escorted into the women's rest room with a relative or friend or even by himself if it's OK with everybody in the restroom. He could yell in the opening: Does anybody object to a non surgically changed transgender to come in?" (I truly don't want anybody to freak out and need medical treatment over the issue). If the person has the full surgery yes that person is welcome to use the women's restroom because she has indeed proven this is no passing fancy or hoax, she truly is a woman.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 10, 2016 -> 10:13 PM) I never condoned that. Then what does this sentence of yours mean: " "It's complete s*** that we've gotten to the point that people feel compelled to say "check your privileges", but we've gotten to this point for a reason." So are you saying it's only OK to say "check your priviliges" to whites in a protest like setting, like marching down the streets of campus chanting, "Check your privileges" If so, that's fine, but I've never seen that listed as the only place blacks are condoning saying "check your privileges." I thought it also was an individual on individual thing: You ordering me one on one to check my privileges or asking me if I would check my privileges. I'm OK with it if it's chanted in a demonstration that is properly signed up for. Like I'm being accused of, you didn't respond to much in my post.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 10, 2016 -> 05:41 PM) I've seen people use the race card, it's not right because it undermines when racism is truly present, which I've also witnessed first hand. But posting that article, that perspective for Greg is not to tell him that he's racist, just like most people don't actually mean you're racist when they say "check your privileges". What they are really trying to say is open your eyes and realize there's probably more to the story. They don't mean you didn't earn what you have, just that you may have had less obstacles to get to it and you shouldn't ignore that. Just realize that there are a lot of things out there that you didn't have to deal with, and just be aware of that. It's not saying you should be stripped of what you earned, just be cognizant that your path may have been different and therefore you shouldn't expect everyone to have the same success with the same obstacles you overcame. When I say recognize color I mean appreciate that people have these different backgrounds, different obstacles, different traditions. Recognize that, recognize the positives they bring, the negatives they've endured, and I hope they do the same to you as well. It's complete s*** that we've gotten to the point that people feel compelled to say "check your privileges", but we've gotten to this point for a reason, because so many people have never given that any thought and can't understand that someone may have had different experiences than them. You said: "They don't mean you didn't earn what you have, just that you may have had less obstacles to get to it and you shouldn't ignore that. Just realize that there are a lot of things out there that you didn't have to deal with, and just be aware of that." Are you fricking serious? So that gives you the right to come up to me in a public place and yell "check your privileges" And I thought they were also saying "check your white privileges." How the hell does this group of people know that I don't accept the fact I've had less obstacles to overcome??? I might be totally that way. You don't know that when you approach me? But I sure as hell disagree with you screaming that in my face! How the hell do the Black Lives Matter group know that the people they are yelling at aren't fully cognizant of the fact they have had less obstacles. Yes it is VERY RUDE of that group to act in a mean manner to white people just trying to sit in a library. You said you've "got to this point for a reason?" What reason ... that person in the library for all you know is Mother Theresa II and does more things for black people than anybody in the last 100 years. You said: "It's complete s*** that we've gotten to the point that people feel compelled to say "check your privileges", but we've gotten to this point for a reason, because so many people have never given that any thought and can't understand that someone may have had different experiences than them." OMG. You did not get to this point for a reason, because AGAIN, the person you are telling to check their privileges may have done that many times. You don't know their position. Do you want the people in the library to fill out a form expressing their positions before you yell at them?? I was reading that some people who were marching on campus with the angry group of Black Lives Matter people came back to study later and got yelled at anyway!! After marching on campus. I am talking about rude behavior. You have NO RIGHT to invade my space and tell me to check my privileges and act rudely to me. Again how do you know I am not a sympathizer. You go up to the wrong person and you get a knuckle sandwich. Now can you respond to my response? Why do you feel you have the right to go up to innocent people whom you KNOW NOTHING ABOUT and ask them to check their privileges. How bout an answer of "I'll check them later; I'm here to study for my Calculus test motherf***er."

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 10, 2016 -> 12:50 PM) Because my neice is going into her stall to go to the bathroom. Apparently you think that all bathrooms break out into rape orgies if a transgendered person walks in. Crazy how that hasnt happened before greg, quit p****footing around this and just come out and say it. you "dont like those people" just be done with it, you have basically already said it. Then you can go back to loving thy neighbor, unless thy neighbor happens to be transgendered. Then f*** that person, go away That fits your clean quick image of me. Life is not that simple. Just because I am concerned about a law that does indeed allow human beings with male body parts to go into a female bathroom because he "identifies" with being female does not mean I am the scum of the earth. it just doesn't mean that. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 10, 2016 -> 01:06 PM) Am I the only one that tries to avoid a public restroom as much as possible just because it's unsanitary and annoying? lol I hate having to use public restrooms for that reason. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 10, 2016 -> 01:13 PM) Do you go into these histrionics when boys are in restrooms with men too? Men can, and do, molest little boys after all, and this is something that's documented, not a made-up, hypothetical situation. I'm not for any type of crime in a restroom that is a fact. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 10, 2016 -> 01:24 PM) Greg, this whole thing would be much easier if you just said " I think transgendered people are weird, I hate them, am uncomfortable about them being near me, and I don't feel like changing". I may need to be educated on transgendered people who still have their male body parts. For I don't understand why they get to go in a women's bathroom if they still have male parts. That is true. I am intolerant to that group of people; I guess, guilty as charged. if you have a male body part and want to go into a female locker room yes I guess I do have a predisposed problem with you. If you get the full surgery I would be fully convinced you are a woman and were dealt a bad hand at birth. Unlike some of you I am willing to admit to something I may be guilty of. In my world it's common sense. (I have a male body part; I must go into the men's room until that is no longer the case). QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 10, 2016 -> 01:47 PM) Arent you also taking your niece into the mens room anyway? I mean, such a weird argument to make. No. She was walking in alone in that scenario into the women's room with a guy dressed in a dress and heels (with a male body part) ahead of her. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 10, 2016 -> 02:14 PM) Not the first time, not gonna be the last The board is quite liberal I feel and people are quick to say s*** in theory, when in reality I want to see how they react. I'm sure nobody would do a second take walking in a Subway when somebody right in front of them obviously is a man in a dress with high, high heels. You won't even think that's a tad unusual.

Rude people piss me off and aren't getting me to do anything even if they yell at me or take a hammer to my head. If a group of angry people approach me in the libary yelling at me to check my privileges I'll tell them to set a time to meet with me in the library meeting room to discuss the matter and I'm sure we have some common ground. But you f***ing tell me to check my privileges? Check my privileges and yell it in my face rudely? Go f*** yourself.

I stopped reading at the first paragraph. It was ... "People love to tell me that they often forget that I’m black. They say this with a sort of “a-ha!” look on their faces, as if their dawning ability to see my blackness was a gift to us both." I call bulls***. Nobody says that to the writer. Who the f*** would say that? Some of the Black Lives Matter people just make s*** up. If I say I don't see race I don't see race. I see a friend when I see a black friend walking up to me whether any of you believe it or not. I could give a rat's ass if you believe me.

QUOTE (bmags @ May 10, 2016 -> 07:36 PM) Too obvious of trolling greg, try again. Why is it trolling when I take exception to "crappy" white people? What the hell does that mean?

I like your style L.Ron Paulard! That italicized quote about the media is what I've been trying to convey! We are in the minority, L. Ron, but we can only hope/beg that the FBI has the guts to indict Hillary. I dont' get why a majority of this board has no problem with all the insults tossed Trump's way and yet we imply Hillary broke the law or is a liar liar pants on fire and we get roasted. Cmon FBI! Work harder.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 10, 2016 -> 07:04 PM) One thing I will say is that Trump is bringing a ridiculous number of crappy and pissed off white people. I don't want to see Trump win, but I also won't pretend that there isn't something going on there. What do you mean crappy white people? Successful business people? Thanks for recognizing there is more to Trump mania than radicals wanting to fight and riot. Many dislike Hillary so much they'll vote for the other person.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 9, 2016 -> 11:51 PM) lol Why do you assume I'm racist because I disagree with your views on this? When I see a person I do not see skin color. I just don't.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 10, 2016 -> 05:41 AM) Yeah, I'd be fine with that. Why would you be fine with that. There's no telling if he has male body parts but let's say he has not had the surgery and does have a male body part. You would let a 10 year old walk right behind this guy into the bathroom without even telling her to scream loudly if he approaches her in any way? If he's gone through the surgery and now is a woman it might be a different issue for me. Might. But we are supposed to let males in female bathrooms because they feel they identify with being a woman??? You know how many potential murderers there are out there in this day and age? Nutjobs who would indeed put on a dress and heels and still have male body parts and want to stalk. I don't get it. In this society parents now won't let their kids do anything without parental supervision yet because of P.C. they'll let the abovementioned scenario take place??????
