QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 4, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) I personally think Cruz should have been forced to carry his campaign the full term. Cheap shot. Abortion is a complicated issue and Americans differ on it.

QUOTE (lostfan @ May 4, 2016 -> 01:01 PM) Bernie made it farther than a lot of people thought he would, but he doesn't get a participation trophy. He is losing, fair and square, and the main reason has been his campaign strategy. Fair and square? Let's see. Bernie keeps winning states, gets the most voter support, truly excites the voters and ... gets no mo jo from the victories cause of the media who worship Hillary and the superdelagates. Not fair and square. Bernie has made it a race and nobody gives him any credit. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 4, 2016 -> 03:06 PM) Bernie Sanders is a walking moral victory. Uh more than a moral victory til you turn on the TV. He wins states. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 4, 2016 -> 07:42 PM) If you ignore the fact that Bernie now needs to win a HIGHER percentage in the remaining contests now than he did before Indiana, then yeah sure I guess it kept him alive. Reality though, tells a different story, and that story is that he didn't win by ENOUGH to actually keep him alive. After Indiana, he now needs to win about 65% of remaining delegates. This is more impossible than it was before Indiana. Indiana was a net win for Hillary. In reality. We know. We watch TV and they tell us Hillary really won ... when the vote total percentages say she lost (and the polls). Nice job of the polls to be WRONG again in Indiana. It's all a set up, folks. It's fixed like Trump says.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 4, 2016 -> 05:10 AM) He wouldn't even survive in the NL at this point sadly. His one hope is reinventing himself as a pitcher, possibly learning a knuckle ball. I don't know. Kinda wish he would have gone to Charlotte to work on things. Yeah, if he has no severe arm pain it's puzzling he wouldn't go to Charlotte. Even Danks must know this couldn't continue. In fact, the Sox front office may have saved him from a severe booing if Boston lit him up. Why not Charlotte Johnny? If he has a lot of arm pain/discomfort then I understand it.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 4, 2016 -> 05:08 AM) Ill be on the floor so there will be at least some support. It'll be fun. Reince Priebus tweeted his full support of Trump tonight. People are starting to come around. Well see what happens in July. Awesome that you will be on the floor. You should keep a diary and write a book. This year would be a good one for that.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 4, 2016 -> 05:31 AM) Yeah, he has been given the short end from national television media. However, legacy media isn't the only hat in the ring. He gets more than enough love from new media and social media. But he's still losing. He's impressive, but he's still losing and barring an unexpected upset in California, where he currently lags behind Hillary by 10 points, he's dead in the water. Thank you. At least you commented on my observations nicely. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 4, 2016 -> 05:48 AM) The Democratic primary (and for that matter the Republicans too) hasn't had any suspense for weeks if you A) know what to look for (pledged delegate leads and how delegates are counted) B) are not in denial We know it's had no suspense. That's what I've been lamenting. There SHOULD be some suspense. The super delegate thing is sad. But even sadder is Bernie getting no credit. He had momentum at some points, but the media would not allow him to ride that momentum at all with guys like Geraldo merely screaming, "HE HAS NO CHANCE. LET'S MOVE ON AND TALK ABOUT TRUMP and CRUZ for goshsakes!" update: I'm watching tonight's replay commentary. One pundit wouldn't even say Bernie's name, saying he and him. The first analyst was asked about tonight's result in Indiana and she said, "Hillary Clinton is storming toward the nomination. Nothing is changed." LOL. Sickening. The pundits basically say "he's a socialist nut, nothing to see here." Meanwhile win after win after win with more on the way? West Virginia? Nebraska? Had to turn off msnbc coverage .... again. Pundits laughing at Bernie and Trump, proclaiming Hillary the winner. Mentioning Trump offending all voter groups, can't win over Hillary, blah blah, refusing to ever mention Hillary's flaws. And this is on a night Hillary lost another primary. Still nothing but love. ANYBODY HAVE A CHANNEL to recommend to greg to watch? A channel that does not worship Hillary?? Is there one?
-
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 4, 2016 -> 04:18 AM) You do know that Bernie is losing in the popular vote as well, right? Not just super delegates. Bernie's candidacy has been much more impressive and much closer than the pundits lead people to believe. They are scoffing at his candidacy when it's MUCH CLOSER than that. You have to admit it's actually a close race and he's had a ton of impressive victories, especially for somebody who came from nowhere. ... One problem for Bernie is the good ol boy and girl network simply would not give him a fair shake. Like I said, the Heraldo-like dismissing of any Bernie discussion with "HE HAS NO CHANCE!" was quite unfair to all the people who have PACKED HIS RALLIES. Yes he technically is losing. But none of the good ol boy network/lapdog Hillary media members will acknowledge this. Do you agree with me or not that Bernie has actually been a formidable foe and has been given the short end of the stick nationally? His victories mean nothing to the media members eager to get on with the coronation.

Holy bleep ... Bernie won Indiana! It's pretty obvious except for this super delegate crap, Bernie would be taking the country by storm. Everybody loves him. His speeches are by far the most attended. They are happenings! Young people worship him. Lines are long, long, long. But this super delagate thing, combined with the media's never giving him a fair shake lead to .... you know who, Hillary (same song, 90th verse, no reason to elect her cept it's her turn; what a nation we have). I love turning on virtually any political show and any discussion of Bernie will quickly erode to somebody like Heraldo saying/screaming, "Bernie doesn't have a chance!" And then they pretty much move on to Trump or somebody rather than discuss the Bernie phenomenon. Just the fact the millenials worship him you'd think would guarantee fair coverage, but nooooo ... guys like Chris Matthews, lol, gotta have Ms. Clinton in the oval office. Bernie with another victory tonight and it means ... NOTHING.

Wow. Cruz threw in the towel. That leaves Trump. This is pretty historic. Can you imagine the convention? It's usually a big happy thing (even with a bummer candidate like Romney) with just about everybody united and waving the flags of the nominee. This year ... can you imagine all the stodgy old Republican government officials who will be at the convention asked to get excited on camera about ... Trump?? First of all, any Republican elected official over the age of 50 probably knows Trump, and considering Donald is a ruthless businessman, most probably dislike him. Also, there's the jealousy factor. Every one of the Republican elected officials there, who are asked to get behind Trump, are probably thinking ... "Donald Trump is our nominee?? A guy who has never been in politics before?? Why not me???" There just can't be that much support for Trump from the people who will be attending the convention. It's the little people, the voters who are supporting Trump, not anybody close to being in charge of the party. I think this leaves the disintegration of the party completely. Now would be a good time to aggressively get behind a third party. Maybe Cruz could be that party's nominee, maybe Bernie, somebody. Cause this is a runaway laugh out loud victory for Hillary and the convention is going to be one embarrassing death knell for the Republican party. The reporters are going to have a blast when they do the on the floor interviews. After one inocuous question about Trump, they'll get most of the interviewees to saying something like, "He leaves a lot to be desired but he is our candidate." That'll be about the most praise you hear from any Republican of note about Trump. The people want Trump ... the Republican elite do not.

Great win. Good to see the team go out and compete this season. Should be interesting to see how we fare against KC and Detroit this year. The Royals' win tonight figures to get them going again. Head to head games in the Central obviously will decide our decision. Releasing Danks is another sign the Sox are here to make some noise this year. In the past they'd have kept him around even if he was getting shelled.

QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ May 4, 2016 -> 02:46 AM) Not bad numbers for a Tuesday night. Great great win, but I have to chime in that's embarrassing attendance. Will certainly pick up soon as it looks like this team is for real. -

QUOTE (Wanne @ May 4, 2016 -> 02:40 AM) exactly...wtf do you even have a set number of challenges if a manager can come out and whine. I used to be all for replay...but honestly it's turned into a f***ing waste of time. I can live with the "human factor". The human factor ended in that Tiger no hitter. -

QUOTE (daggins @ May 3, 2016 -> 09:47 PM) His contract and injury came to be unfairly associated with the stink of failure that hovered over this team the last 3 years. Excellent line. Thank you for that. The nice posts in this thread are starting to lessen the sting of all the vicious, classless things said about Danks in game threads the last two seasons. I hated reading the word bum in game threads about Danks. It'd be nice if somebody in the NL picked up Danks and allowed him to continue his comeback, but I assume they'd have to pay him. So he must be done. That said ... one of my favorite Sox ever. It's not his fault he got hurt. I think some haters thought he should give the money back. It doesn't work that way. Danks is a class act. It'd be great if he could continue his career. In conclusion, I loved Johnny Danks and we've had a lot worse pitchers stand on the mound at the Cell in White sox uniforms than Johnny Danks! Go Danks!

QUOTE (L. Ron Paultard @ May 3, 2016 -> 05:42 AM) -White Sox on the way to playoffs? Check. -Donald, Ivanka, Don Jr, Eric, Tiff, Melania, et al mere 8 months away from rightfully reclaiming the White House? Justice, light & truth > Soros -Pam Bondi as VP? oh yeah, a gift for Mr. Greg: . Thank you! Did you see her face on Anderson Cooper's first question? She lit up so happy cause she is so used to lying she's very comfortable doing it IMO. My only hope is the FBI. Please come through and indict her.

Why did Boehner call fellow Republican Cruz "Lucifer." As many of you I despise Hillary based partly on stuff written in books about her mean personality. What's the skinny on Cruz? Why Lucifer?

QUOTE (miracleon35th @ May 2, 2016 -> 03:32 AM) Jason Benetti's home run call "Oh my goodness," is at worst, a pussification of a home run. At best, Benetti simply used that trite expression because he could not come up with anything original or better. A grandmother says "oh my goodness'. I don't agree with Hawk's opinions and politics all the time and I understand he can't go on forever, but I would have liked to see him back full time this season. Instead of Benetti , I would have preferred that someone else be chosen as his successor, preferably a former major league player who has wit, personality and is more familiar with the game and the players. Benetti seems better suited to the radio side, not as the primary TV play to play man. As long as he is doing that job though, I wish him well and hope he improves. Is that his call? Oh my goodness? Yikes.

QUOTE (Jake @ May 2, 2016 -> 02:19 AM) Yep, that's Quintana Line of the year! Ba Boom! Great road trip. Excellent job by the White Sox and Robin/Coop. I will say too bad won/loss record doesn't mean anything anymore. Sale's six wins against no losses would have impressed the masses when won/loss mattered. I love Sale's maturation as a pitcher. Good hitting again. A. Jackson has put the .100s behind him and is climbing well over .200. A blowout win. I'll take it.

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ May 1, 2016 -> 03:56 AM) Hawk ... a real rarity in the today's game with all the robotic "voice guys" who never played sports. I hate the robotic voice guys' work. Jason at least seems to be copying Stoney and Hawk and talking like a normal guy. I wonder why 80 percent of all announcers do the robotic radio voice thing. It's annoying. Just talk in your normal voice, announcers. Like I said I'm glad Jason is doing the normal voice and not the robot.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 1, 2016 -> 03:36 AM) Nah, you're just putting your own bizarre spin on this s***, Rock has exulted the virtues of Adam Eaton pretty consistently because he's not insane. You've turned a correct, off the cuff remark into a negative talking point because you don't understand context. OK. I thought he was dissing Eaton basically. My bad. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ May 1, 2016 -> 03:58 AM) Even when Frazier, Lawrie, Jackson and Rollins aren't hitting, it's their energy and enthusiasm that makes the difference this season in comparison to a very lethargic clubhouse last season Fair enough point. But I'm curious to see how the posters react in times of struggles. Frazier was catching some big-time grief on here when he was hitting .150 early with all those Ks and I shut up waiting for him to produce which he is doing. Rollins has already been ripped on this site by fans. Somebody was bagging on Rollins' range and wanted Saladino to play more. Let's see if everybody stays behind these guys all year cause these four guys are going to have stretches of badness at the plate.
