  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 02:38 AM) 12,093 for the night game, 12,785 for the day game (WED)...for an increase of 5.7%. Seems they're fighting for every possible fan they can get with those promotions (flash sales) for selected seats at $10 in different locations. Cincy (team in complete rebuild mode) at 12,979 and CLE at 9,890 today. Let's face it, Sox are at a possible historic (early 1970s?) low in terms of interest. 2005 was so great cause it was just the opposite. Chicago's Sox took the city by storm. Now?? Wow, if they moved to Las Vegas would anybody but us die-hards care?
  2. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 03:10 AM) So has anyone else hit a fastball as well as Saladino on that HR? Now that is a quick f***ing bat. Granted the pitch had too much of the plate but pulling that 96mph heater like that is pretty damn impressive. He did that last year several times too. He looked like a helluva prospect. But like so many guys he just went in the tank after that good start last year. He ended up with a horrific OBP and batting average after 250 at bats or so. I don't know if he's a good prospect or not but occasionally he really rips the ball. I think at his age 26 I'd play him more than Rollins anyway.
  3. Sale has taken that next step into unhittable. That's why maybe it is our year despite some obvious team weaknesses. Don't discount a Cubs-Sox WS just yet and if Sale and our other arms are still strong in the postseason, we might win it all.
  4. Great win. Should the new announcer be using "Sox win" as his game ending phrase?
  5. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 09:49 PM) Really hate how Robin used the pen today. Who did you want in besides Nate? We probably lose the game if it's anybody but Nate/Albers.
  6. Damn. Frazier had plenty of time.
  7. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 09:33 PM) How many people made it to the park today? Maybe 1000? I wonder if actual attendance was under 5000. Certainly under 10000.
  8. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 09:27 PM) MLBTV skipped during that AB. Did Saladino hit the ball hard right at someone? Most routine DP ever 6-4-3. Horrible at bat.
  9. Saladino with the weak crap there. He did homer earlier, though. I'd take a Sale eighth and Robertson ninth and 2-0 win.
  10. Easton's beard is too long. He's looking like LaRoche. Nice hit by him, though.
  11. QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 09:13 PM) Because of johnson's success in the MLB? Johnson is a young righty and I'm all about 3 lefty, two righty starters. Also Danks might have some value in the pen. As much as I love him, he is not a very good starter.
  12. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 09:08 PM) Having Melky bunt while batting lefty and being one of the hotter Sox hitters is questionable especially with the bottom of the order coming up.Had to they'd put a runner on 1st to set up a DP . On the other hand, a 2-0 lead with Sale pitching. After the bunt it was looking mighty impressive that we had a man on third, one out just two pitches after the single.
  13. What a horrible crowd. Sox should never play a day game til the weekend.
  14. QUOTE (almagest @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 09:05 PM) Avila with no chance there on 97 mph. He looks really bad so far this year. Can a team make the playoffs with the current Avila/Nazarro combo? they are washed up IMO.
  15. Why is Johnson warming up? If we need a reliever it should be Danks relieving and Johnson starting IMO.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 09:24 PM) If I am supposed to believe that Donald Trump is supposed to be this incredibly smart business man who is going to rescue us from our government with his understanding of complex mechanisms used to reform them for the betterment of the people, why can't he figure out how to run a campaign staff that won't keep losing him delegates to candidates with way less of that business experience? To keep losing delegates to the system means he either isn't as good of a manager as he keeps telling us he is, or he isn't as smart as he keeps telling us he is. If he can't keep Ted Cruz from stealing his delegates, how in the hell is he going to keep Vlad Putin from stealing back Eastern Europe? Trump vs. Hillary is probably the worst election ever in terms of quality of choices. I sure hope we give Trump a chance in this scenario. But Hillary, for whatever reason, is the choice of women and African Americans and their vote is way more than enough to give her the title. I'm frankly surprised Trump wants to stay in and get embarrassed like he's going to get embarrassed.
  17. Great win. With Latos and Sale pitching like aces we should have this type of record.
  18. QUOTE (soxfan85 @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 03:10 AM) Seems as if you got Spring Training Avi in your game. Must be some kind of bug. Yeah, Avi's not going 4-for-5 anytime soon.
  19. QUOTE (soxfan85 @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 02:56 AM) I was just thinking...you know who would be an excellent addition to this lineup...Bacon. Where is he these days? Thank goodness he's gone at least. I'm sure a lot of you are glad my boy, Flowers, is gawn as well.
  20. Good to see the Sox win a blowout. I said yesterday we never blow anybody out so I must give props where it's due.
  21. Another good opening on SNL this weekend. They've got Hillary down pat I tell ya. That skit two weeks ago on her trying to get in the subway was priceless also the background people. It was obvious they filmed it without shutting the subway down which is cool how New York is too busy to cooperate with a mere national TV show.
  22. I don't have the energy to think Frazier will be another bust from the NL who joined the Sox. I prefer to agree he'll rake in the Cell this year. I just can't believe he'd pull a LaRoche and completely suck. I bet Frazier heats up. Lots of guys can't hit on the road.
  23. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Apr 17, 2016 -> 09:36 PM) Offense oh offense where for art thou offense? 12 games played, seven games three runs or less. Mark People get mad when me and Caufield compare the Sox to KCR, but the Sox and Royals have had an almost identical season so far. Both teams aren't hitting at all yet. Both have had good defense and good pitching. The difference is on paper the Sox starting pitching is so much better than KC's. One would think KC's reluctance to add an ace like Shields or Cueto will cost them the pennant this year. Hopefully the Sox can at least split with KC in the season series but it's true what Hawk says about "it's not who you play it's when you play them." Hopefully we'll catch KC when our bats are sizzling and theirs isn't in the mood to face top quality lefties (and my boy the ineffective Danks who usually beats KC like Chen beat us).
  24. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 17, 2016 -> 08:45 PM) Go blow Danks lol Better watch it ... attacks mean BAN. Sexual orientation has nothing to do with anything. And I am straight btw.
