QUOTE(SuperSteve @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 10:34 PM) We? I love hearing people root for State, but come on now...State has had such a down trodden year...next weekend is going to be great though. Not sure exactly what you mean, Steve, please clarify.

Now that my pulse is back to normal let me just say that I am so proud of Michigan State and the Big 10 this year. We constantly get ripped for having a down year, yet when it comes down to it, Illinois and the Spartans win the big game when it counts. Does it get any better than this if you are fan of either program? I think not. So excited for all of the Illini fans who get to see their first Final Four since 89 and also excited for the Spartan fans like myself who get to see a group of guys who were picked by many to lose to Old Dominion in the opening round make a run at this thing. Torbert, Anderson and Hill surely deserve this after the scrutiny they've been under since arriving in East Lansing. What a great time to be a college basketball fan. Good luck Illinois and Michigan State the rest of the way.

Damn I'm nervous, just hope we can get it done against a good KY team.

As Hawk would say to DJ, I'm saying to Carl... "I LUV when you analyze." Good stuff from Carl here, I like him more all of the time.

3 of my 4 in the final 4 are still alive as I continue to lead the way.

Good stuff Addy, glad you had a blast and it was a tremendous game to watch. -
QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 27, 2005 -> 12:15 AM) Who are you a fan of? Please tell me you are not a UK fan? Yasny is enough for this board, we don't need two! Michigan State, thought that was pretty well documented around here.

Although I didn't think it could happen, Arizona just choked more than West Virginia did earlier today. Deron Williams is clutch. -

Wouldn't it be sad if we had to close a game thread of one of the best college games I've ever seen... :headshake As Hawk would say, MERCY! -

Sorry to inform you, but no one has the right to be telling people to shut the f*** up, regardless. Now, back to regularly scheduled programming for Illini nation. -

This is really surprising, considering Illinois is basically playing in front of a home crowd. -
QUOTE(Butter Parque @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 08:34 PM) Needed time to decompress after the loss. First off, I said I would do it, and I will, I give props to Michigan State for a well earned victory. They played 40 minutes of non-stop, physical basketball. I'll also apologize to Paul Davis, while I still don't believe he is a very good big man, he did do the job last night and carried Michigan State to victory. As for Duke, it was evident that they were completely dead-tired. Everything hit off the front of the rim and nobody was able to get down the court in transition. JJ Redick also wasn't himself last night. Usually he never stops moving without the ball, but he seemed almost motionless. I just don't know how they were tired when they had 4 days in between games. Never the less, we basically were run off the court last night. The hardest part of losing, is watching the seniors play their last game. I feel bad for Daniel Ewing and wish he could play for Duke forever. He had become my favorite player over the last 25 years (including Laettner, Hill, Battier, Hurley, Duhon, Carrawell) for his un-selfishness. He probably had the most offensive ability on the whole team, but sacraficed it when Coach K needed a point guard. Good luck in the NBA Daniel! This might have been a down year for Duke, but for fellow college basketball fans, "Watch Out!", Duke has the # recruiting class in the country coming in next season and nearly everyone returning. The fall of Duke won't last very long. Good luck to Michigan State and everyone else that has survived so far, P.S. except North Carolina! Classy post Butter. Great game by both teams and I agree Duke wasn't its usual self last night. Let's just hope Michigan State shows up in the same fashion tomorrow night against the Kentucky Kittens...err Wildcats.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) This might have been Pitino's best coaching job since taking Billy Donavon, Delray Brooks, and Providence to the Final 4. Incredible comeback. I'll be interested to see Williams, Brown, Head vs. Dean, Garcia, O'Bannon if it happens. Great job by Pitino. No real inside game yet he takes his 3rd different program to a Final Four. Only coach in history to take 3 different programs to the Final Four.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 07:31 PM) I was referring to you calling WVU's run "lucky". Oh, gotcha....Well I would call making 19 three's in a game lucky, but they were a helluva team and made a great run considering they were a "bubble" team at one point. I think they were very well-coached, but I think they sat on the ball too much with a 20 point lead instead of continuing to attack when they could've put the dagger in.

QUOTE(Spiff @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 07:25 PM) And the funniest part is it came from someone in Kentucky. The civil part of Kentucky, get it right... Not to mention, born and raised in Indiana for the first 20 years of my life. Man, people have some thin skin around here.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 07:10 PM) Ignorant post of the day. Ignorant? Just look at Pittsnogle and tell me the guy isn't pure redneck. Sorry to "offend" anyone of his ilk.

West Virginia chokes as I knew they would. A lucky run only lasts so long. See ya later, rednecks. :fyou Snogle

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 06:46 PM) You just got pittsnoggled aboz Me? I'm no U of L fan although I am rooting for them in this game considering I live in Louisville. WVA has been throwing in some of the wildest shots I've ever seen in this game, it's been great to watch.
-
WVA coughs up a 20-point lead and we're going to overtime.
