QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Mar 20, 2005 -> 08:19 PM) Notice you said last season. And BTW, you just won by a few points against a 9 seeded team. Sure they were decent but you talk like your team is the second coming. Even if you make the final four, you stand NO CHANCE against UNC. Don't forget to include SEC team, which makes it even worse. Most overrated conference in America, as they get ONE team in the Sweet 16. I wouldn't consider Mississippi State even a comparable opponent to State.

QUOTE(Butter Parque @ Mar 20, 2005 -> 08:17 PM) The fact that we never lose to Izzo I guess means nothing. PS: We beat them already this season at home and last season at Michigan State by 20 or 30 points. But Don't worry, Duke is goin down to Izzo. Don't talk about last season my friend. And you beat MSU by 7 this year at home, early in the season. I wouldn't get too cocky, junior.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 20, 2005 -> 07:39 PM) Duke survives :headshake Don't worry, they're going down to Izzo.

GT getting blown away, 60-45, looking more and more to me like we could see Illinois and the ville facing off in the National Semis. Personally I don't see how Georgia Tech was even a 5 seed, they're really just not that good. Majorly overrated. Their guards, who are supposed to be great, are just getting outclassed by O'Bannon, Dean and Garcia. As I type this, it's now 63-45. See ya GT.

Louisville hot early, leading 16-8.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 20, 2005 -> 04:55 PM) I've got Louisville winning and advancing to the FF. Whoever wins this game goes to the FF, IMO. Should be a damn good game... Too bad I will be stuck watching Wisconsin dominate Bucknell. Maybe you'll get a blowout and they'll switch over.

How does everyone see the U of L and GA Tech game going?

Spartans move a step closer to a 4th final four under Izzo... Wisconsin wins and all the Big 10 haters will need to bow down.

Latest rumor I heard early this morning is that Mike Davis has resigned as the coach of Indiana Basketball. More details to follow, if any become available. -
We go to a Fish Fry every Friday.

Hopefully MSU can capitalize now and beat ODU.

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 12:08 PM) Greasy are you trying to tell me Mike Davis was responsible for that team getting to the final four? Let me ask you this, on that team, they had ONE NBA player, Jared Jeffries, then a bunch of basically role players. So if Davis is responsible when they lose, why do you not give him credit for going to the title game? Just a question. The guy was what, 8 points from a national title, so he just got to that point by sitting there and letting his players do all of the work? As a season ticket holder at IU that season and a person "in the know" when it comes to IU basketball, I will say that IU team was one of the best to watch since the championship squad and were very sound in all facets of the game. Now you can say that Knight got them there and all of that, but you don't win 5 straight games in the NCAA tournament if you don't have a capable coach. It just doesn't happen. -
QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 03:18 PM) How is Louisville's defense? I think UofL can score with Wake, but they'd have a better shot if they can D up and make Wake work harder for their points. Wake doesn't play much D, so I think Louisville's D could be the difference. Very solid defensively, especially on the perimeter. And how did they get hosed you ask, Rex? They are 29-4, won their conference and conference tournament, are ranked #4 in BOTH polls and have an RPI of 12, in their last 19 games, they are 18-1, now how does that compute to being a 4 seed. One more thing to consider, average scoring margin this season in the NCAA: 1) UNC 18.5 points average margin 2) Louisville 18.0 points average margin 3) Illinois 17.3 points average margin That's some damn good company to be in if you ask me. At worst they should have been a 3 seed and they should have easily been a solid number two. Even Pitino himself agrees with that and he is not one to complain.

QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 06:55 PM) What an outstanding Keanu Reves film! 4 words that should never be used in the same sentence. Outstanding Keanu Reeves film.

Anyone notice he has a WSI link on the right side in his links section?

QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 06:46 PM) Nope! Don't mind it at all! I'd rather have it than no traffic living in the middle of nowhere. Are you sure about that?

QUOTE(quickman @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 08:42 PM) What a strange thread, we are half way through spring training and we are talking about the future years. If this thread started three years ago honel would be in there, Munoz, Almonte, Ring, Borchard, olivo. This is just silly, as many of you know I am very disheartened with our Minor league system. i would say 90% never make it, then there are injuries and trades. How about being excited about this year. lets win this year, if you see any of these minor leaguers, BMAC or Diaz it means we are in trouble. Win now, screw later. I agree 100%, the Jugghead wants to trade Konerko for Vazquez at the all-star break...How can you even begin to talk about trading at the break when the season hasn't started? He also wants to trade a proven starter in order to get B-Mac into the rotation....Note to all: Rushing young pitching prospects based on their spring training success is not a good idea, especially given the track record of this organization. Let the season play out without trading our best player before the season even begins.

QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) chisox... I usually agree with you, bbbuuutttttt...... mike davis tried to put his footprint on IU basketball hoops, and now he should feel someone elses foot... bracey wright is the biggest ball hog I've every seen... a good coach would let him know he has four teammates on the court.... these "young kids" more often than not would run down the court and "chuck it" a good coach would be teaching passing techniques, at least ONE PASS... davis just sat back and let his players play, that's not coaching, unless you're phil jackson with jordan .... I have to stop before I get out of hand.... in closing... MIKE DAVIS IS NOT A COACH!!!!! Someone took them to the NCAA title game in 2002 and it wasn't Bobby Knight my friend. -
We're not going to trade a relatively cheap starter who gives you 200 IP (Garland) for a 3B when we used our first rounder last season on Josh Fields. If anything, if Crede struggles, you'll see Valdez/Uribe play 3B from time to time in place of Crede until they feel Fields deserves a shot. I for one don't mind having Crede hit 8th/9th, as long as his glove is solid, I think he can hit .255/.260 with decent power (20 HR) and decent run production (60-70 RBI). For a 8th/9th hitter, that is fine with me.

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) For the obviously intellectually inferior who weighed in with their usual dumbarse comments I suggest you look up the word stat in the dictionary. It represents an indisputable fact. Now for those who have more gray matter between their ears it's clear that the biggest weakness on this team the past 4 yrs has been performance on the road. This is the funniest thing I've ever read on this board, period, especially coming from you. Now, as you were, babbling aimlessly with no real point.

Looking forward to seeing Baj close this year at Charlotte.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 15, 2005 -> 01:35 AM) Just for discussion's sake............ What if they fall on their face and lose soundly to Vandy at home Wednesday night? COULD that change anything? It certainly couldn't help. Doesn't matter, he's back, confirmed, case closed. If he was fired, DJ White would transfer, along with Bracey Wright going pro and possibly a few other players transferring (maybe Vaden, because he came to IU simply because of MD)
