Anyone have sliders for PRO?

QUOTE(farmteam @ Feb 27, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) I decided to go young. Trade Thomas, Wright, and Grilli to Tampa Bay for Upton and Kazmir. Also traded Jackson and Cotts to Seattle for Buhner (fictional player, but only 19 or 20, and on the top 100). We'll see how it works out. Are you using fair trades?

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 27, 2005 -> 04:49 PM) Palehose, you didn't exactly defend Duke there. BP has argued that Duke is better than Illinois the entire time, which is what we've been "arguing" even though it's no argument for anyone who knows anything about college basketball. You didn't just defend that statement. Of course he didn't defend it, he had no point to begin with. Illinois is the best team in the land until someone proves otherwise. There's nothing else to discuss on that front. -

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Feb 27, 2005 -> 04:41 PM) I can't believe I'm gonna defend Duke at all but here it goes. Illinois wouldn't handle Duke rather easily at Cameron Indoor. It wouldn't be an easy game on a neutral floor either as Duke would slow the game down and they always play very solid man defense. Illinois would win by 12+ at home, 6+ on a neutral floor, and it would be a one possession game at Duke. Thats my opinion and can we please move on now. Illinois wouldn't want to see Duke in their bracket, and vice versa Illinois bracket would be the last one that Duke would want to enter. Also I don't think you can argue that Indiana has a legitimate chance at the tourney this year, but they have alot of work to do. If they can win out at Wiscy and home to NW, then you guys will be sitting pretty well entering the Big 10 tourney. 2 wins and a loss in the tourney and it will be tough to turn down IU for the dance with 18 wins and 12 losses. After all, Georgia got in the tourney in 2001 at 16-14, and IU's SOS is in the top 30. RPI could end up keeping you guys out though. It was a one possession game with Maryland, too, right? I believe Maryland owned them twice this year. Everyone should just face that Duke isn't that good this year and move on. The name "Duke" only carries so much weight. Teams aren't scared of them anymore, which was about 75% percent of the battle to begin with. -

QUOTE(T R U @ Feb 27, 2005 -> 04:34 PM) but they lost to all those teams.. doesnt make much good to beat all the easy teams you play and then lose to all the tough/solid teams and expect to slip in.. it COULD happen, but I doubt it will.. I mean of course if they do good in the tourny they could get in, but I dont think thats gonna happen.. beating Wisconsin when they come to your place is nothing special.. they suck on the road.. MSU was a solid win for them though Thank you for your analysis, Andy Katz. -

QUOTE(T R U @ Feb 27, 2005 -> 04:34 PM) but they lost to all those teams.. Yes and if they played a bunch of garbage teams, their record would be 20-5 and we wouldn't even be talking about this, would we? That's why I called it a moot point. -

If IU beats Northwestern at home and loses at Wis, they'll finish the regular season 15-12. One win in the B10 Tourney would be enough in my view. They'd be 16-13, with wins over Michigan St and Wisconsin and a nice SOS. This discussion would be moot if they packed their schedule full of early season creampuffs, much like Duke and many other top programs do, but instead they decided to play UK, UNC, at UConn, Charlotte, at Mizzou and Notre Dame. The committee will see this. Also, even if Wisky beats IU on Tuesday, IU still finishes 3rd in the Big 10 outright, which in itself should be enough to get in. The tiebreaker goes like this. IU and Wisconsin split, so the tiebreaker goes to their record against the best team in the Big 10. Both teams lost to Illinois (Wisconsin did twice, IU did once), so then it goes to Michigan St, the second place team. Wisconsin split with MSU and IU beat them, so IU wins the tiebreaker. And yes, this is how the tiebreaker will work. I remember Georgia getting in a few years ago with a 16-14 record, so IU getting in at 16-13 wouldn't be a shock at all. -

As a fan of neither team, I can safely say that Illinois would handle Duke rather easily in any location: Cameron Indoor, Champaign or at a local park in a pickup game. I am not a fan of Illinois at all, but all of the haters around here need to quit running it about them until somebody actually BEATS them. They are clearly the best team in the nation, they have proved it and Butter, the ACC is top heavy with three good teams and after that it's a substantial dropoff. -

Awesome win for Indiana, since they are my second favorite team behind Michigan St, I was happy for them. They've got a great shot to get in now... -
If that's the photo you are referring to, I'm fairly confident that it's not Jenks in the background.

http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.d...005/1002/SPORTS The other part of the story, the men's game, was placed into another roundup due to space limitations. http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.d...478/1002/SPORTS Overall it was a good experience and I was glad to get my name in the paper (at least for the first article).

Thanks for the words of encouragement, I'll post a link to the story tomorrow for everyone to read and then rip apart like a Mariotti column....

I know it's on DirecTV, but that's all I know. Not sure on the Dish Network, I checked their website and didn't see Comcast Chicago listed. http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/program...=10045&sortby=1

Congrats on your site, looks pretty nice and I hope all goes well.

Has anyone heard whether or not Jenks is in camp at this point? Is he working out with the team? Is he healthy? Where does he expect to start the year? Will he get any innings in this spring? I haven't read anything about him or the status of his injury. Any information out there would be appreciated.

Tonight I'll be covering my first game for the Courier-Journal, which is the newspaper here in Louisville. I'll be covering a local Division II school's basketball games here in town then doing a 15-inch story which will appear in tomorrow's sports section. I'm a bit nervous and perhaps slightly overwhelmed of the idea of writing on deadline, but I'm sure I'll do fine. Wish me luck.

Anyone know if there are roster updates available for the X-box version?
-
I doubt I even play the owner mode because I don't like the idea of having to start out playing games in a stadium that only seats 20,000 and looks like a spring training park.

QUOTE(Y2HH @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 06:45 PM) I just bought this game earlier today for XBOX and it seems pretty good, though Iggy is missing from the Sox roster, they promised a roster update at the very latest Feb 26th, so he will be aquired then. Home runs are still a tad easy in the games default settings, so I'll have to start tweaking it as I go now. After I learn the game a little better I'll play on XBOX live. -y2 Where'd you read about the roster updates and will they be free?

QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 10:37 PM) I hope Gamestop has it tomorrow Probably depends on the location. The one I am getting it at said they'll have it Wednesday, so I may look elsewhere tomorrow afternoon to see if I can find it without having to wait until then.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 10:32 PM) I'm gonna pick this baby up tomorrow. And you are then mine on X-Box live.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) Damn I hope the game comes out on XBOX down here, otherwise I may have to order it from overseas via Amazon, but then there might be compatability issues with the Aussie XBOX. Otherwise I'll just be playing on PC, and won't be able to OWN all of ur asses on XBOX - Live. You should just get an American X-Box, much easier to get games for.

Boozer reportedly to be traded to Lakers?
aboz56 replied to Goober's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Doubt it's bogus. Utah wants to get rid of Boozer's contract, they can use George once he is healthy and Caron Butler has a bright future in the league. They'll probably release Divac.
