I think it's basically just a practice where the pitcher works in different situations, works on his pitches and "simulates" getting work like he would in a game. I am unsure if there are actually batters, baserunners or what, someone else would have to clarify on this.

Ed Farmer said on the radio last night that Billy Koch was going to throw a 5 inning, simulated game this afternoon in KC. Apparently the purpose of the work will be to try and figure out what's wrong with Koch this season and what he needs to do to get back on track. The extra work won't hurt either. Farmer said he was going to watch him and try to see if he could see anything he is doing wrong. Farmio will most likely talk about it on the pre-game show tonight. Just thought this might be of some interest to Sox fans. Hopefully some good will come out of it and this definitely means Koch won't be used tonight or for a few days.

Crede has shown some flashes of being brilliant, but he's had a lot of trouble hitting the outside pitch. Last night he reached out for a nice single into right, which could be a sign that he's swinging the bat a little better. Most of the time he gets blown away by a good fastball though, usually either high or outside.

I'd say we'd probably have to part with Crede to get him and I'm not in favor of that, despite how well Boone has played the past two seasons.

White had been critical of Manuel's handling of the bullpen in an article that ran in a Chicago newspaper on Monday. But the White Sox manager laughed when asked if he thought the minor controversy was a distraction for the veteran reliever. "That's a question for Rick White, not me," said Manuel with a smile. "But if you speak up, I would like to give you an opportunity to prove it. You know how I am about those things. "If you can do what you can to get it backed up or whatever you want to do, go ahead. I'm proud of you. I like guys who say what's on their mind and then go out and perform." ------------------ Rick White is a complete idiot and I doubt he lasts more than 2 more weeks.
