The Sox would lose all the rest of their remaining fans if they traded Colon off now. Everyone would scream white flag, and that we were quitting while still in the race. Being 5 games out of a team that is way overachieving, and that people are just waiting to see when they fall apart, they would be crucified in the national media as well. I think it would depend who the trade yields. If we got someone who could step into the rotation right now and contribute, I don't think it would be that bad. After all, Colon hasn't exactly set the world on fire this season...

I see Hummel as a utility player, but I can't really see him as an everyday player. Of course he could be given a shot to earn the job at second if we don't have Robbie back next season, which is a possibility. Hopefully he keeps improving and proves us all wrong... Cooper I know nothing about...

I'd be the opposite, going for Foppert over Williams...

I agree on that if he keeps his hands where they currently are and just tries to hit line drives...

You guys extremely underestimate the value of Bartolo Colon. Foppert...Ainsworth...Williams Thats who u get. i am not underestimating his value. in fact the 2 pitcher i mention may have more upside than williams, cain and whitaker. i just don't see them giving up ainsworth, but we need a starter in return. i been spouting for william for 2 yrs now and i heard that he is lazy, and does not have a good attitude. we don't need another person like that. that is why he hasn't produce like he should have. cain and whitaker are young power studs in the making with cain being 1 or 2 yrs away. eric threets has a diastorous yr this yr, but you don't give up on a pitcher who throws 101 mph. Getting Foppert would be good enough in my eyes, this guy is arguably one of the best pitching prospects in baseball and he handcuffed the Sox this year with 10 K's if my memory serves me well. He's gonna be solid.

I don't know if he'll hit as many homers as Pudge, but I don't see a .270, 18 HR, 70 RBI season out of Olivo as being out of the question someday...

It's good in theory, but there's no way I want another big trade we have to adjust to, let's play out the season with what we have.
