  1. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 11:01 PM) So you're saying what Frank has said has been worse than William Ligue? Worse than the White-flag trade? Worse than the teams constant underachieving for 4 years up until 2005? Frank Thomas's attitude is why the NBA has a dress code? Frank Thomas's attitude is why there was an NHL lockout? Maybe his poor attitude is also why college basketball coaches are covering up murders? Oh and maybe his attitude caused Jayson Williams to kill his limo driver? Maybe it even put Kobe over the edge and made him rape that woman. I'm even willing to wager that Frank being a prima donna is why Urbina slashed people, put gasoline on them, and then torched them? I'm pretty sure Ron Artest was so disappointed with Frank that he went into the stands in Detroit to beat some ass. Dude, you've got issues. Way to take things out of context.
  2. The bottom line is this. Frank Thomas got himself to this point. He could have gone out quietly, holding the trophy, getting to throw out the first pitch, etc. We've forgiven him in the past, however outlandish and childish his comments have been. He CHOSE not to. He started this immediately after signing with Oakland and it has continued up until now. That was over a month ago. No White Sox fan can honestly say they don't like Frank Thomas the player. He is a legend. The absolute greatest White Sox player ever. However, all of that aside, his behavior towards the organization is unnecessary and insulting. He is acting like a child. Many who in the past saw past Frank's comments for whatever reason have grown tired of them. And this is the result.
  3. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 10:33 PM) He just talks publicly about playing for another team. Much better. Comparing the two is laughable, so I won't get into a phantom debate. There is nothing to debate on this.
  4. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 10:32 PM) So losing Geoff Blum was worse news? Losing Frank Thomas was not bad news. He is no longer a productive everyday major league baseball player.
  5. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 10:29 PM) Now let's say Mark Buehrle is the player in this position instead of Frank Thomas. You would be slurping him harder than anyone is "slurping" Frank. :rolly He would never be. He lets his play on the field speak for itself and doesn't get into bashing the organization through the media. Buehrle and Thomas are polar opposite personalities. Stupid comparison.
  6. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 10:23 PM) Nobody is slurping anybody. Unlike some, I don't just s*** on a guy and act like he wasn't s*** because we happened to win a title without him. He is the greatest Sox player ever. I'm just tired of hearing him say obnoxious things that are not true. He was not disrespected. And many, including KW and other fans, are tired of hearing him whine about s*** that he should have no complaints about. What is so hard to understand about that? He needs to just shut his mouth and prove that he is healthy rather than talking about it. He is so insecure its comical.
  7. Quit slurping this guy. He obviously can't get over the fact that he is NO longer apart of the organization. It appears some of you cannot either. He is GONE. He didn't do ANYTHING in the playoffs. Nothing, not a damn thing. We won it without him. Mail him his ring and move on.
  8. QUOTE(rangercal @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 10:03 PM) Frank Helped us get to the Playoffs. Without his clutch Hr's , Blum and Willie may have not had a chance to even play in the playoffs. He helped us win a few games. He is nowhere near the reason we made it. And he did nothing in the playoffs because he was, let me guess, hurt. Also, please remember these other numbers that people seem to forget from last year, when he was "in his prime." .219 average, 31 K's in 105 AB Of his 23 hits, 12 were HR. He was all or nothing.
  9. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 09:54 PM) aboz, do you really think Crean would take the IU job if pursued? Yes. No doubt about it.
  10. Great performance by IU today. Truly remarkable to watch first hand. They'll need to keep it up and I see them IN.
  11. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 05:46 PM) I cant stop laughing at this quote. That is something you would pull right off a message board or something. And our GM is said it publicly........ He bit his tongue for so many weeks. It was totally over. Then Frank started it again. Do you expect him to just say nothing. After a while when people say ridiculous things, someone will respond. I really have no problem with this. Frank does need to shut his mouth and worry about himself. The guy is damn near retirement and he needs to realize that. He is completely in outer space if he thinks he is in his prime. He talks about 12 home runs in 105 at bats? Is he forgetting his was absolutely horrible besides that? He is a liability on any team. He can't field and he can't run. And he can't keep his damn mouth shut. Have fun being a distraction all year in Oakland. And when he gets no PT out there because he is damn near crippled, he'll act like a victim there too.
  12. Maybe once Frank changes his tampon he will come to his senses.
  13. QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 05:17 PM) I completely understand where KW is coming from with all of this, but man, I really didn't want to see this situation get this ugly.....and so fast. I really hope this stuff cools down, but with the media probably already on it, this thing is going to get even uglier. Not exactly what we need going into ST. All will be fine in the world of the White Sox. This NEEDED to be done. KW took the high road for so long, including Soxfest which was right after Frank took shots at the Sox. Then Frank just doesn't give up so KW stands up and pretty much tells it like it is. FRANK, not KW or the White Sox, started this. So now someone had to stand up and say pretty much how everyone on the team and in the organization feels. Good for Kenny.
  14. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 05:14 PM) Wow. Well Frank does like to whine and have an attitude. I'm actually glad he is gone and is never coming back. He is an arrogant and out of touch with reality and his latest interview showed it.
  15. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2345972 Thank you Kenny. I couldn't agree more with the Good Riddance quote.
  16. Frank, you are finished. Just admit and retire. You weren't disrespected by the Sox at all. You are dilusional. Shut the f*%k up and quit talking about the White Sox. You are NO LONGER apart of the organization. We've moved on to bigger and BETTER things like Jim Thome. We won a ring without you. You're simply mad about that and refuse to admit that you are no longer a productive, everyday major league baseball player. You say you are in your prime? That is without a doubt the absolute funniest thing I have heard ALL offseason.
  17. Well Zach, I did leave early, but listened to the speeches in the car. I think IU played great today and they should be in the dance, as long as they beat Purdue and then win a game in the Big 10 tourney. Huge game for them today and the crowd at Assembly Hall was awesome.
  18. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 11:26 PM) I hung out w/ Adam Ahlfeld yesterday, and he has no clue. Maybe they'll win?
  19. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 11:25 PM) Haha I loved this thing. I remember this debuted after the ASB. I'm saving this. We need one with Crede arguing with Froemming. That was classic. I think that was about as mad as I got last season.
  20. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 11:23 PM) Big surprise? Am I missing something? I worked 64 hours this week, so I must have if you are referring to something specific. I may not be able to watch Sunday's game (live at least). I have tickets to the Alabama-Florida game Sunday afternoon. Davis said there is a big surprise for Sunday's game.
  21. Heads, Arnie Munoz, I think you are taking this "give everyone a shot" thing too far.
  22. So, Zach, Rex, Balta, anyone... What's the big surprise for Sunday?
  23. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 09:40 PM) What did I use last year? Anyone recall? I demand more facetime for Buehrle. Please, sir.
