Your Least Favorite New York Knick!

"It's crazy enough that it just might work." - Isiah Thomas on the Steve Francis trade What a GM. -
The more Borch says, the more I think he's going to be elsewhere this season.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 11:36 PM) Thanks for the info. He sounds impressive. I guess we shall see how IU handles the search. Latest I've heard is that it's Alford's job to lose.

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 10:22 PM) Slim has left the building.... At least ONE of the Thomas apologists around here is coming to admit this.

Pick your Dream Sports Radio Lineup
aboz56 replied to AbeFroman's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I'd have the Herd for about six hours a day. The rest of the lineup I could care less about. (Amanda isn't half bad either.) -
The amazing thing to me is how well Jenks has handled himself in pressure situations as well as with the media. He was essentially isolated from society for a long time and it's remarkable to me that he has been able to manage pressure filled situations. I'm glad everything has worked out for him and look forward to seeing him succeed for years down the road. I know I'll always cheer for him.

I really hope Ozzie has some sort of indication that Gload can make throws from the outfield before making this declaration that he is on the team as of right now. If Gload can indeed prove he can throw and his shoulder is healthy, I definitely want him over Borchard. If not, get rid of him.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 08:37 PM) If I were a betting man, I would bet Frank is pretty much done. There's no betting about it, he IS done. He just won't admit it. Much like several Frank apologists around here. Don't get me wrong, I love Frank as a player. One of the all-time greats (notice I didn't just say Sox greats). But realize that you can go out after winning a ring and as a member of the Sox rather than embarassing yourself by trying to prove you are healthy again. The chances of Frank getting to 500 are slim and none. And with every article I see that he is still not healthy, slim is about to walk out of the door.

Why am I not surprised? His days as an everyday player in baseball are over. Should have retired with the Sox.

QUOTE(Soxy @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 04:58 PM) And in a shocker, Cohen keeps the Silver, Japanese 1st, and the biggest shock of the night, Slutskaya takes teh bronze. She'll take it I'm sure. After she fell twice, she didn't even look like a good bet to medal.
-
Silver for Sasha. Slutskaya or whatver it is chokes.
-
Looks like Kimmie 6th Hughes 7th Cohen 3rd The Russian is up with a chance for gold.
-
QUOTE(Soxy @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 04:37 PM) Yeah, I was going to make a Cubs joke, but refrained. I don't think Sasha is going to medal. Well, here's hoping Kimmie delivers. . . Unless Kimmie passes her, Cohen will take 3rd.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 04:33 PM) It's kinda what she does. Choke in the clutch? Japanese firmly into first with three skaters remaining.

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 01:40 PM) Any stadium that gets Ashley Judd should be 1 over all. I dont care how much noise the Cameron Crazies make, Ashley Judd would be a much bigger distraction. SHe is not at every game. She is at the "big" games and that is all. -
Since this is non-sox and there's already another thread on this, I'm closing this.

Put thumbnails at the top you can click on for bigger versions, which are a lot easier to read.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 12:47 PM) Boz, I was being serious. Pretty good definition. Ah cool. If anyone needs it bigger, I can upload it somewhere else, just need to find somewhere that allows larger images.

Have fun in third place.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 12:07 AM) Aboz, sell me on Tom Crean. What do you know about him? I know he was an assistant to Tom Izzo but for how long? What else ya got on him? Educate me, damnit! I know a pretty good amount on him. First off, he was a big part of the reason MSU won the title in 2000. Although he'd already left to go to Marquette by then (it was his first season), he was a big part of bringing many of those recruits to the program. He began at MSU, went to Western Kentucky, then to Pittsburgh then back to MSU before landing the Marquette job. Of course many people remember he took Marquette to the Final Four in 2003 behind Dwayne Wade. Now its a knock from some that well, he only went to the final four because of Dwayne Wade. Well, you've got to have good players to go to the final four. IU this year is final four talented and look what they have done. I think Crean with good talent can make a team great. He's also had some other standouts at Marquette, like Travis Diener, now of the Orlando Magic and current player Steve Novak. His best current player is Dominic James, from Indianapolis. What I like about Crean is that he has a lot of Big 10 experience, he's coached in the final four multiple times and he is a relentless recruiter. He's really got a knack for recruiting in the midwest. Marquette is not exactly a basketbal powerhouse and he's done well there. This year will be the 3rd time they are in the dance in seven years. Not acceptable at IU, but for Marquette, pretty damn solid. I've met Crean before as well and he is a classy guy. I think he'd be a good fit at IU, I just don't know how big of an interest they have in him.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 12:28 PM) good scanner Sorry, the place I was uploading to only lets me use 500K for each picture, so I had to make it smaller in order to upload. I've got the full pages, just nowhere to upload.

Scanned this in, since it's not available online. Each picture goes in sequence, so just continue down after you get done with each picture. This really gives me even more respect for what Bobby has been able to do. The article was by Bob Nightengale. Click thumbnails for larger versions (easier on the eyes):
