  1. Looper sucks.... i hate the Yankee$....
  2. the Marlins pulled a Sox move and blew a runner on 3rd one out opportunity. Castillo then looked awful in his 3rd straight AB. Now Willis allows the go ahead run with a 2 out hit and then walks Bernie on a 3-0 strike, err ball i guess. Pitching change, oh i REALLY hope the Fish can somehow pull this out. I hate the Yankee$.
  3. He is actually calling himself "soxplosion"in those posts dam, i just got done reading that thread...i guess some people never change
  4. i live in NY, and i'm a HUGE White Sox fan. Reason: Grew up a Yankee fan till i was around 8. Didnt follow baseball much. Moved to Germany for 2 years, not much baseball influence except for one baseball shirt....a White Sox shirt. And the team just stuck. White Sox are my favorite team of all sports teams now. So it could happen, although the Yankee influence does swoop in and grab most "new" baseball fans.
  5. ya Hankins has been really impressive. Now that they've moved him to catcher, any chance we'll see a Olivo and Hankins/Rivera combo, or will we sign Sandy again? And Reed is continuing to impress. I bet we see a Reed/Rowand/Borchard/Harris battle in ST for the CF spot
  6. well this wasnt a Sox quote, but it was one of the funnier ones of the year. When Detroit was like 3-20 or whatever, Alan Trammell goes something like "we really havent been playing that badly...." (hey Alan, you were 3-20!)
  7. i think the Marlins pull this off. Game 1: Probably Willis vs Wells: Willis was good this year before people had seen him. The Yankee$ have never seen him and i think will somewhat struggle. Meanwhile, Pierre and Castillo SHOULD bunt their way on against Wells who cant field his position well. That will draw the infield in even more. Game 2: Penny vs Petitte: most likely Yankee$ win but Penny is capable of throwing gems. Game 3: Beckett vs Mussina: I would say Beckett gives the Marlins a great chance to win this game Game 4: Redman vs Clemens: Clemens is not the pitcher he once was, Redman will probably struggle though. This series will go at least 6 games. I've followed Florida ever since they came into the league and i've seen many games of theirs this year on T.V. They just dont believe they can lose. They beat Prior and Wood who are better than any Yankee$ pitcher (except maybe Mussina) in my opinion. Yankee stadium is a small park. That helps the Marlins. They dont have much power, but a small park down the lines neutralizes that weakness. The Yankee$ meanwhile are a power team, and that will come to hurt them in Pro Player. Before the playoffs started i predicted Marlins over Red Sox in 7 in the World Series on the espn board. I'll stick with Marlins in 7 against the Yankee$. No one is giving them the credit that they truly deserve. They are a good team, who is gonna be good for a while. Next year they lose in all likelyhood Castillo, Fox, and maybe Urbina, thats it. But as for now, dont be surprised at ALL if the Marlins win. The way they play is phenomenal. If the Sox played with half their heart this year, they probably overtake the Twins. The Marlins' attitude is great, they never get down and in turn, are winning games.....and wil win 4 more before the season is over
  8. Wait, so he was banned at ESPN too. Why am I not surprised? He went on this whole big long tirade about Jews one night. Pissed everyone off, by the next morning he had been banned and had all of his posts erased. yup almost everyone at ESPN who was around when he was knows of him. He went on this huge anti-Jew tirade that started because they "shot into his church" or something like that and it escalated from there. He must have accumulated near 100 reports that night, cuz i swear, his threads got linked to almost every MLB message board.
  9. ya i saw that too. Is roman really Spaniard? Cuz thats what Ugly's been referring to him as
  10. yep, another idiot bandwagon Cub fan on the ESPN board....sure you dont miss it SS? lol
  11. oh, i'll be getting the OEO Magglio shirt
  12. ya we called up Stewart but put him on the DL to clear room for an addition to the playoff roster, i dunno, its the same loophole that allowed K-Rod to pitch for Anaheim last year
  13. we called up pitchers Billy Koch, Jose Paniagia, Jon Adkins, and Josh Stewart (why Adkins over Rauch, Sanders or Ginter i dunno) we also called up Aaron Miles, Jamie Burke, and Armando Rios
  14. ya, Jamie Burke, he's 2-3 on the year with 2 RBI he had a pretty good year in AAA, but hes 30 or so, so he's not really a prospect
  15. Daubach, Rowand, Rios, Sandy.....SOMEONE would have been better than Miggy
  16. 1st and 3rd NO OUTS Miggy up, where's the pinch hitter?????
  17. Cleveland has 4 hits, each comng with 2 outs and none on in each of the first four innings
  18. ya i cant think of who tho....Val? Rowand? Singleton?
  19. after getting 2 runs, Colon needs to get through the bottom half of this inning quickly to keep the momentum with us
  20. the Sox have probably 6 guys in the lineup tonight capable of stealing second off Wakefield. If they could just get some simple singles, most could advance themselves into scoring position. They need to stop all swinging for the fences and just try for a simple hit for now
  21. lmao, allstaralomar, do u mind if i use that sig for other message boards i post at?
  22. well the only reason for that is because the Twins knew they would not be able to sign Prior
  23. can Reed play center? cuz if so, i could see Reed and Rowand in a battle in ST.
  24. Reed finished 3rd behing Greinke (sp?) (KC) but i dont get how Mauer won it over Reed. look at their stats (both combined single-A and AA): Reed: .373 BA, 464 AB, 88 R, 173 H, 249 TB, 35 2B, Reed: 4 3B, 11 HR, 95 RBI, 70 BB/ 36 K, 45 SB, 3 E Mauer: .339 BA, 509 AB, 73 R, 172 H, 221 TB, 30 2B Mauer: 2 3B, 5 HR, 85 RBI, 49 BB/ 49 K, 3 SB, 3 E Look at that. In fewer at bats, Reed had MORE runs, hits, total bases, doubles, triples, home runs, rbi's, walks, and stolen bases. Reed also had almost a 3:1 BB:SO ratio whereas Mauer had a 1:1. Reed hit 30+ points higher as well as hitting .409 in a pitchers park in AA. Reed and Mauer both had 3 errors. I mean ya, Mauer had a good year, but that year by Reed was better in EVERY SINGLE category. Thats why i think Reed should have won
