thanks. Well the way it works is there are 10 or 11 actuarial exams, with each exam you pass your "rank" rises and subsequently, your position in a company/firm and your salary. The first test is mostly Calc I and II so i'll probably take that one this summer, but being only a junior, i wont take another for a few years. It takes time, 10+ years is not out of the question.
i also agree with you. At first, i fgured it wouldnt be a bad idea to bring back Sandy for a year or two, but seeing as how we could get 1st round compensation from him, i say let him go. Have River be Olivo's backup. And if Rivera cant handle it, i'm sure you could find a serviceable backup somewhere
that is GREAT to hear. So basically, if we lose Colon, Alomar, Alomar, and Gordon we will get FOUR compensatory picks in the early rounds of the draft, right?
i agree with winningugly. For $6 million, we're getting a good and big power threat, and it is only $6 million. Thats not that bad, imo. Yes, it could be better, but also a lot worse. I'm happy with this decision.
Lack of other quality candidates. There is talk like Shoenweis is going to be a productive stater and Wright is there if we need him. What is this based on? I look at the pitching staff of this team and the only sure thing is Marte and probably Buerhle. Loiaza is still a bit of a gamble as a one hit wonder. Garland looked good at times and appears ready but no sure thing there. I agree Weaver is over priced but plain and simple, pitching wins, not hitting and this is where the gambles and risk need to be made. Our mistake is locking up the Konerko's, Thomas and Ordonez of world and revamping our pitching every year.
Jeff Weaver i still believe could become a good pitcher. But NOT with the Sox. He was drafted by us and negotiaons went down the s***ter and he re-entered the draft. Weaver has also publicly stated that he hates JR and hates the White Sox. Now why would we want someone like that on our team?
he should have won Baseball America's Minor League POY award too, but i'm sure he'll take this. Good job Jeremy, look forward to ya patrolling CF for us next year
absolutley no way. Soriano, like many Yankee$ players is overrated. Is he good? Yes. But look at what he did this playoffs....nearly 30 Ks! He has a HUGE swing and chases pitches constantly. His 'D' at second is also suspect. Soriano for Maggs would be a big mistake IMO.
i think Anderson is gonna be a good one. I bet he makes his first appearance in 2005. Sweeney and Valido 2006.
If our prospects pan out, and JR can keep most of our young players currently up there, we could have a special team in a few years
