  1. but Florida got a good player in return. Dempster has never been the same since hitting Cabrera in the head a few years back. He was an all-star in Florida, if he comes cheap, i'm all for giving him a shot out of ST.
  2. hahaha, good 'ol Hurt. He hasnt been around lately, hmm wonder why?
  3. i agree, he played well in the last week of the season. Albeit only a week, but until then i had little to no faith in him being able to do anything. But now, i think deserves at least a shot out of ST at the 2B job. He could surprise people.
  4. if you look at Rowand's career numbers the at bats prject out to what would be close to one full season. The numbers he's put up have been very respectable in limited and erratic playing time. Given the chance to play every day, i think Rowand could do a pretty good job, not to mention he's the best defensive outfielder on the team. At the same time, i could see Reed winning the job out of ST if he has a very good one. At the least, he will either be our 4th outfielder or be called up in June. We wont have to wait long for him to make his debut.
  5. i like the hiring too, and as long as the 3B coach wont be Kimm, i dont care. By the way, wasnt Molitor brought in to interview for something? For some reason i thought he was, bench coach or 3B coach, something
  6. they got Taylor Buchholz and Ezequiel Astacio, so i dont know how good those prospects are
  7. another who do you want poll? lol
  8. NUKE Cleveland and MartePartay are good ones
  9. i dunno about that, they lost Brazzel right? But the Big East is gonna make it tough on them with Syracuse, St Johns will have a better team, UConn is the best team in the country, 'Nova will have a much improved team. I dont know about G'Town, dont follow them THAT closely, but i think it'd be hard for them to crack the top 25, we'll see tho
  10. the best sporting event of the year is arguably the ncaa mens tourney. I dont know if i wanna call it the best, but if its a good tourney (like the last few years), its entertaining as hell, even if your team gets bounced early, its still captivating and keeps your interest.
  11. i too would love to see him back. Graffy is the kind of guy that can not play for a week, get inserted into the lineup and come up with 2, 3 hits. He can also play 2B, SS, and 3B. Graffy is a very valuable bench player
  12. I'm hoping for Ozzie, but i would be not at all surprised to see Gaston named
  13. trading Magglio would hurt the team enormously. Forget the on-the-field returns Magglio brings. But Magglio, is a class guy, a huge fan favorite, and brings so much to the team. If they trade Magglio, i dont care who we get, if they arent ALREADY an all-star then most fans will look at it and get disgusted. If Magglio is traded, our already fragile fan base will become even more so. I'm almost certain the attendance would take a significant dip as well as merchandise sales. If they trade Magglio, the Sox will be hurting in more ways than one. We can not trade this guy, we must find a way to keep him.
  14. thats what the SHOULD do. It makes sense, that way they cant all get scooped up by three or four teams all of the time
  15. neve rplayed ESPN Hockey, both got similar ratings from magazines and such, ESPN got slightly higher even. But ive always been an NHL guy so i stuck with it agaun, and the game is awesome. Its tougher than last year (which imo, is a good thing), so if you get the game you wont be disappointed
  16. actually when that came out that did become their unofficial "practice song"
  17. that is true, but i hate Gamecube so i'll have to go without Mario Kart (they should make one for ps2 )
  18. same with me, although i do like the NBA, college basketball is better imo
  19. wont matter, UCONN has the most talented team college basketball has seen in a few years HUSKIES!!!!
  20. well why not try to sign that 2B to a contract? I doubt he'd get THAT much, and we dont exactly have a relaible guy at second at the moment anyways....i dunno, just a thought, we could definitely use the speed he supposedly has.
  21. Chicken Spiedies ....ya i know, if you're not from upstate ny you'll have clue what i'm talkin about
  22. thanks. Well the way it works is there are 10 or 11 actuarial exams, with each exam you pass your "rank" rises and subsequently, your position in a company/firm and your salary. The first test is mostly Calc I and II so i'll probably take that one this summer, but being only a junior, i wont take another for a few years. It takes time, 10+ years is not out of the question. Good luck Sonix! Now I know where to turn when I knock off my wife for the insurance money... lol thx, but i think you might want a lawyer for that
  23. ya, people often dont believe me when i say that. They think working for insurance companies and helping them determine their rates and such, that it would be the opposite. When I tell people its one of the least stressful jobs in the country most dont believe me. Also, a lot of people dont even know what they are when i tell them what i'm majoring in
